am guessing and this is only a guess; they are not specifically outlawed and not actively or vigorously regulated.

I would guess if a "falang" owns one it is highly regulated and illegal and if a Thai owns one it's fine.

Seeing how pellet guns are reulated I would be even more convinced a xbow is. In my home country I got my first pellet gun at 7. After 17 yrs here I am still amazed at how backward this place is.

    Thanks for the reply

Missed the boat I'm afraid. I have been teaching online for over 4 years. In the last year or so the bottom has fallen out of the market. I have years of experience, two internationally recognized teaching qualifications, a squeaky clean online teaching record with regards to assessments and am a native speaker. My hours have gradually be decreasing. Why? It seems that eastern Europeans, who are prepared to teach for $6 to $8 dollars an hour, are now the preferred option.

    Really?

I am on over 25 hours a week and it keeps going up...

You must be doing something wrong as Eastern Europeans arent wanted in the higher quality companies.

  3. Hi, I am looking for a technician in woodwinds who could change the pads on my instrument.

I am located near Pattaya but I sm willing to go to BKK as I have two to fix.

I already went to the shop on Sukhumvit near Trepasit rd in Pattaya and they are a no go.

Would appreciate a sure bet if anyone knows a place.

I almost posted a few days ago that Thailand’s perceived lack of action was another devious way of trying to force some expats out. Not the old timers,

You should have controlled your urge to post and refrained from doing so.

If you don't understand what most TV posters usually complain about you probably haven't been living here long enough, or haven't been screwed around with your visa... at national parks, for creative billing in hospitals ...etc... so rather than poke cynicism at those of us whose heads aren't in the clouds anymore live and learn and refrain from posting rubbish that puts down your fellow farang.

What reason did they give for refusing your Embassy Income letter?

I gave my embassy banks statements form my bank back home. I had proof of transfer 40k in bank but not thai bank.

The IO said they didn't like the word "affidavit" on the letter... I had the embassy letter and the proof of deposit in my bank account back home. I do not withdraw or transfer that amount here. I use my credit card when I need cash and we use my wife's salary. The CDN loonie is just too <deleted> to transfer this amount I would lose too much,

Long of the short, has anyone experienced A or B, and if not, better to check before you go in for your renewal, just in case, as this is not supposed to be a stressful event, doing the paperwork is enough, add the waiting time at the bank, etc, etc, repeat annually...lol

Happened to me today. I had to go get the letter at the Amphur, then at 4:30 we got a phone call and they refused my embassy letter affidavit proof of income. I am close to Pattaya and I need help. I have 3 weeks left on my extension. Really stressed now. We did everything by the book and still got nailed.

He hinted that the government had plans for the baht and stimulus measures to lure foreign tourists. He promised a "new group" of tourists, more domestic tourism and sustainable tourism.

Yes... domestic travelers... get the unemployed to start travelling in pick up trucks 10 high... cordon off the Thai economy because of a strong bht and we will begin the age old tradition of trading goods.

They will also organize submarine trips available only to the Thais between Samui and Pattaya... at a discount Thai rate.

Maybe not. The village we lived in there were a few old and very, very poor people scraping a living and when I asked about them was told they used to be rich but gave their land to their children who promptly sold all the land and dumped their parents into poverty never to return.

Sounds like a story of a man who saw a man who saw a bear. Many people like to make up sob stories... maybe what they told you is true, then maybe again they are trying to get pity. In this world, one never knows heads from tails anymore. I have become an eternal skeptic, unfortunately.

You obviously don't live near me then, They're all fat and ugly where I am (most of them over 18 anyway). I wouldn't go anywhere near 90% of them...

lol... wjo ever said Thai women are beautiful... I agree with you same here where I live for the most part. I got lucky my wife is 30 something and still slim and beautiful.

But when they are hot... they ard hot. Problem with Thai wo.en is they look down on falang cos they think they are god'd gift to men.

But yingluck still remains a mashed potato jaw faced duck with a fat <deleted>. No matter how you slice it.
