  1. Good to hear James. I had a Schwab card because they reimbursed 100% of ATM fees, and used it at SCB where I had an account for years. On one occasion in 2024, I processed a transaction for 20,000 baht. Screen went funny, no cash, spit the card out. Got a pic of the bizarre screen and watched the next person in line and they didn't get my 20000. later checked on Schwab and sure enough, they pulled the money out of my account. Called Schwab immediately to report it, figuring zero liability for me on this. Nope, Schwab went to SCB, SCB said "customer got the money" and Schwab said "sorry". I asked for video proof of the transaction, and of course, never got it. I've changed to Fidelity and Bangkok Bank. Fidelity reimburses 100% also, so I'm hoping to avoid the issues I had with Schwab/SCB.
  2. You da man, Upnotover!! Many thanks on that. Gonna head over there today. I prefer in-office ATMs as I think it's a bit more difficult for the scammers to play games with them.
  3. Anyone know of ATMs located inside of the bank office? Citi had one at Asoke, and Bangkok Bank had one on Sukhumvit at Soi 71...both locations closed. Looking for something along Sukhumvit.
  4. We always turn the water main off when we leave our building for more than a day. We were gone, and the building maintenance crew turned the water on which resulted in damaged flooring. Building has an insurance policy, that I'm now translating, but I'm anticipating juristic reluctance to file a claim. Anyone with experience on this issue? Anyone know a reliable attorney who can assist with this type of issue?
  5. Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle.........that looks EXACTLY the same as last year!! Even the pricing.....the most expensive was 18 baht. Yep, I'll have 160 baht plus 40 baht delivery and blammo, I'm set for two months. Last year I ordered it up on Line, COD with address only. Would you know if same now, or license or card or something else needed??
  6. I'm certainly not the greatest when it comes to searching Aseannow forums, but I found one thread on this topic. I guess it's Homepro or Do Home or Watsuda for tile / flooring work? I once saw a guy doing an outstanding tile job in a shop they were remodeling.....shoulda grabbed his name. The guy had everything perfectly level. The other question....yeah, really pushing my luck here..........anyone have experience tiling an upper floor in a high rise? They cannot cut inside our unit, nor the balcony. I guess it's service elevator to the ground when they need to cut tiles? Hate to go with laminate but, no muss no fuss.
  7. Well, daim. ...three replies and none helpful in locating somone. Looking for an update if anyone has information.
  8. Current state of online ordering? Was using FIS about a year ago....was perfectly happy with them. Are they still OK? And can still do mail order without medical card? (been gone a year)
  9. Gone for a year, returning in a few weeks. Lots has changed, I know, but curious how FIS works now.....can I still order without the medical? Are they still as good as a year ago.
  10. Whew!! I am still working off the first 5 grams of 18b from Fis......it's lasted me a long time because 1-3 puffs and you're off to the races. I'm not sure how the local shops stay in business with Fis out there selling so cheap....and outstanding product. I actually threw away the stuff I got from a local shop for 500/g. It just plain did not work.
  11. Thanks VERY much for the Fis recommendation. Ordered 3, but only tried the "expensive" one (18b/gr), and it's incredible. Far and away better than any shop or mail order place I've tried. In fact, I'd say the only one that actually works. Very sticky and great smell. The two others look nice, are cheaper, but just have not had a chance to try. Crazy price/quality difference between Fis and local shops.
  12. Nice.....so about 80km of the trip.....not bad. Thanks Phantom. Hopefully more during Songkran.
  13. Quick question on this part........I registered my address as owner, with the blue registration book and my passport as the only two attached documents. The status is showing "approved". My wife and her friend are saying the blue book is not good enough because it doesn't list my name. On the profile, I state I'm the owner. You mentioned you registered with the yellow book "and other papers". Can I ask what other papers? They're saying I need to add a copy of my deed. I don't mind doing that, but hate to mess with it when it already shows "approved" with that beautiful green button next to it. Oh, and what does "I have registration in my passport" mean?
  14. I read that it's supposed to open to Korat by Songkran, and it will stay open. Can anyone tell me what is currently open? We will be driving from Bkk to Korat a few times over the next few months. Are buses allowed on the new road yet?
  15. Thanks for taking time to respond Joseph. Your suggestions sound reasonable to me.
  16. Thanks much for the examples. I own a condo in Bkk, set up the website for that address, and plan to fill out the name, passport, address, check in date, etc when we arrive. We will stay for 82 days. I was curious about the "Check out date" and the resulting "Number of nights" and noticed you left it blank. I may be applying for an extension, in which case we would be there until May 28 and I could input that check out date. However, we may be making a trip out of Thailand around day 45. In this case, can I leave the check out date blank? Or would I fill in May 28, and then modify the check out date once we firm up the trip plans, and then file a new TM30 upon re-entry to Thailand? Additionally, we may be completing some in country travel.....one by car, and one by air, both under a week, and both returning to the residence indicated on the original TM30. What are the rules for TM30 regarding these types of travel. Thanks for any help on this.

Upon further investigation, I'm going the separate account route based on this guys experience. https://www.dozro.com/digital-marketing/multiple-temu-accounts

I use them in the US with great success. All inexpensive stuff, and exactly the same stuff that I previously ordered on Amazon for more money. Phone cases, screen protectors, TSA locks, batteries, battery testers, reading glasses, car wash brushes....rarely anything over $20. Only returned or got credit on a few items....but easy as pie. I always use the website, never the app. I use Shopee and Lazada, but lots of times that stuff is shipping from China or other countries as well. My question....I tried to add Thailand to my existing account I'm using in US. When I click the dropdown for adding my Thai address, the region Thailand is greyed out. I can add Malaysia, but not Thailand. I can open a new account for Thailand, but prefer to simply add the address to my existing account. Has anyone had success doing that?
  19. I got clipped for the 800 baht fine last time I went for an extension in Bangkok, because I did not complete a TM30 upon arrival. So sat down tonight, and as I signed up, I made out a little instruction sheet, that hopefully someone will find useful. Nice to have steps 1 and 2 complete, so I just need 30 seconds on my arrival day to complete step 3. WHEW! Apologies for those barely readable screenshots. But you'll get the idea when you're on the actual page.
  20. Thanks. Yeah, exactly what you advised on the onwardticket for my last trip...step aside, order, show to airline. Worked like a charm and 16 bux. Apparently evisa is $82. We had zero hassles flying with JAL. Last time we flew Discover, and they would not let it go, so got the onwardticket. This March, we're flying Singapore, and yes, that's both ways.
  21. Cannot thank you enough DrJack54. I'm only there once or twice a year, the rules always change, and you've always provided me with accurate and important information....such as the onwardticket on my last trip. I may try that evisa just to avoid the hassle as you indicated in an earlier post......would you happen to know the cost? Any advantage at immigration in Bkk with the evisa?
  22. So I guess the good news is that entering visa exempt is now valid for 60 days. So my 80 day trip will only require the 30 day extension. For planning purposes of our next trip, is the marriage extension still 60 days? We would extend our next stay by a month if that's the case. I have had the airline hassles in the past since my stay is longer than 60. I've used Onwardticket and that worked. If I were to apply for the evisa, could I also apply for the extension online at the same time to avoid the hassles with the airlines?? Or would I still have to use an alternative method, and then head up to Laksi to get the 30 day? Finally, saw an article that led me to believe that even if qualified for visa exempt, I would still have to get the evisa. Is this article incorrect? https://www.travelandleisureasia.com/sg/news/thailand-announces-eta-for-singapore-92-other-countries-from-december-1-2024/ Thanks in advance.
  23. Sounds like none of this is going to matter in a short while.
  24. Still available at 7-11 in Feb 2024. 60ml bottle, 21 baht. My wet cough turned dry a few days back and super annoying. So many thanks for this post. I picked up a bottle and will give it a try. 2 teaspoons, 3 times a day....and guessing it will knock it out pretty quick based on the comments above. I know opium is addictive stuff, but whew......tough for me to get past that taste. I'll be taking as little as possible.
  25. Hey Tim, thanks for that. Apparently Nakhon Chai Air, and Nakhon Chai 21 are the same company, with Nakhon chai 21 as the division providing service to Nakhon Ratchasima, according to the limited information I could find on this topic. And absolutely we'd only book the VIP......the fares are just so cheap. Someone mentioned that in his experience, they kept the volume up on the speakers above the seats while others mentioned their rides were quiet. Would you happen to recall which was the case for you?
