Further to all the above, somewhat drifted off-topic and not really up to date, that since the new UK passports started being issued, the UK was being much stricter on the length of time they could be issued ie. a 10 year passport was for 10 years. Looking at my photo attached, I renewed my still current red EU British passport on 23rd July 2014. As there were a good few months left on the previous passport, the clerk added them to this current one, but I now wonder if they won't count any longer and this red one will end on 22 July 2024 and not 23 April 2025 as is on the current passport. Am I correct in thinking this? If so, when would be the best time to renew my passport for a new dark blue/black UK passport? Some time around December this year or January next year? And what is the current processing time for a new UK passport? I have been reading 11 weeks or thereabouts.

I think it's OK to have a nominee do it for you - wife etc. I think there's a section on the application form where you name the nominee who does it on your behalf, but personally, I'd do it myself. I know it's not always easy to go yourself if you live in Nakhon Nowhere so you may have little choice unless you want a few days travelling and staying in a cheap hotel while you wait - AND then have a 15 hour trip back home.

I'd start preparing now, if I were you. It takes 11 weeks plus all the postage and faffing about so you might want to think of 16 weeks total. Start in about 6 months time. Don't forget you'll need to go to your local Immi office to have the visa transferred to the new passport and it would not be good to find your old passport (and hence visa) had expired in the meantime. Hope your health is improving. I owe you a return message, I just remembered!

I'd agree with Thai Visa CENTER in Bang Na, but they shocked me recently by increasing their retirement visa extension from 14,000 baht to 20,000 baht, getting on for a 50% increase. Not good at all. However, they are reliable and get the job done. They are on Line (just do a search) and there would be no need to visit Bangkok if you post your passport EMS. There's also a place in Pattaya, but that might be too far for you to travel. I'm in Bangkok, so if you need any further assistance, let me know on Messenger.

Well, the photo is VERY bright with a lot of reflection. And to be fair, I haven't actually ever seen one of the new UK passports so far. I just went by the description of others in various websites and forums like Faceache. Anyway, I don't give a toss for the actual shade, just that I get one without fuss.

Now I've read the posts above, I don't see the need to get a new black passport until the burgundy one expires in July 2025, especially as I don't expect to visit the UK again before then. Yes, I know I retain the old passport then take both to Immi to have the visa transferred when the new one arrives.

I hope this is the correct area to post this - if not, admin, please move to the correct forum. I have a query about my red EU/UK passport. In 2014, I was in the UK and renewed my passport on 23 July 2014 at the Durham passport office in person. It was about 10 months before it should have expired and the kind lady added the extra months to my new passport. This made the new expiry date 23 April 2025. See photos. I recently read somewhere (perhaps on here) that since the UK left the EU, new black passports are being issued strictly to the 10 year rule, which seems to mean that my current red passport should now expire on 22 July 2024 and I lose the extra 10 months given in 2014. Could anyone please Confirm this is correct If so, is the date I quoted above correct? What happens if I just wait until April 2025? Any penalties or other consequences? If so, what is the lead time for the new UK black passport to be issued? If I need to renew next July, I was thinking of applying to VFS about January or February to be sure of receiving it in good time. Is this too early and I could wait a month or so? And if too early, would I ‘lose’ any unused time? I have not yet looked into the renewal process in great detail, but I think I have to renew at VFS at Trendy Building. I am happy to do it myself, there seems no need for an agent really. Could any kind soul who has recently gone through the process please pass on what the procedure is and any tips to ease the process, lead times etc? And what is the current cost for a standard new UK passport? Many thanks for any advice.

So you didn't read accurately then?

I don't. Why do you even ask? No need to if you stick to a proper diet.

No, I went to the UK three times and put a mountain of weight on in each 4 week visit due to the rubbish food in the UK, from which there is little escape, so had to lose that weight again on my return. There's your discrepancy - and my lowest weight was down to 63 kgs. I'm currently 64.5, 6 years on. And where you got 55 from I do not know. I assume that was the TOTAL lost including the extra gains when I went to the UK those 3 times - 24 kgs in total over 3 visits which all had to be lst again.

Carbs are NOT essential, certainly not excess carbs. A normal balanced diet will give you all the carbs you need. Just limit fruit, veg grown underground and eat green leafy veg and above all AVOID EXCESS SUGAR. Nothing wrong with high fat either, it fills you up and adds flavour to food I started Keto 6 years ago and lost 55 kgs in total and have kept it off by eating a fairly strict low carb diet. In February 2017 I was 102 kilos with a BP of 145/95. I gradually moved to a low carb diet until in May 2017 I went full on low carb/keto, call it what you will. In July 2017 I had lost 12 kgs and my BP was exactly 100/60, a huge drop. My practice nurse didn't believe her machine so checked the old fashioned way with a sphygmomanometer. Exact same result. She was astonished. My current weight and BP at a checkup last week was weight 64 - 65 kgs and my BP was BP was 111/62 and I'm 74 years old. Don't spread fake news and be so alarmist, as you obviously have no first hand experience of keto, just watched one Youtube video. Troll.

It certainly helped the people with the genes that allowed them to do that.

Who said 74 kgs? I'm 64 kgs and never took any meds, just diet change alone. You need to stop living in that fantasyland in your head.
