  1. Hi everyone,

In the Summer myself and my wife (who is Thai) will be travelling to Thailand for a holiday. We have been married nearly 10 years and my wife has full UK citizenship and holds a UK passport as well as her Thai Passport. I was just hoping somebody can give us some info regarding her Thai passport. It is due to expire in August but we will travel to Thailand in July. Is she still able to enter Thailand on this passport or will she have to use her UK passport?

We live in the North of England and due to work commitments and distance of travel to London it is not possible for us to travel there to re-new her passport before we go on holiday in the Summer.

    Any help much appreciated.

  2. Are you a qualified teacher in the UK? QTS etc?

If so then International Schools are what you should be looking for. I personally don't know of any 'Thai' schools that employ foreign PE teachers.

    Hi,

Yes I am qualified teacher in the UK with QTS status. I have been teaching for 8 years at the same school

  3. Hi everyone,

I am interested in teaching in Thailand but have no idea how to go about it. I am have been teaching PE for last 8 years at a successful school in the UK but think its time for a change. After visting Thailand numerous of times over the years I feel it would be a place I would like to move to.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks

  4. Hi everyone,

On my next trip to Thailand a few friends of mine who live in Thailand want me to being a few things across for them. The items are boil in bag kippers, cheddar cheese and black pudding. My question is, Are the items I have listed ok to be brought into Thailand in my suitcase and I wont get into trouble if stopped by customs?

    Thanks

  5. Hi everyone,

Just need abit advice on thai tourist visa please.

In the Summer I will be flying into bangkok and jumping straight onto a flight to Vietnam (I will be picking my luggage up in bkk airport and checking them onto my vietnam flight) for a few days then fly back into Bangkok and head down to Pattaya. I will be away a total of 6 weeks.

When I apply for my Thai tourist visa how many entries do I put down because when I arrive in bangkok from UK I am jumping straight on a plane to vietnam so my 30 day thai stamp will go straight away(Because I am leaving Thailand for Vietnam) and then when I arrive back in bkk from Vietnam I will be staying in Thailand for another 5 weeks.

Any help would be much appreciated

  6. In the Summer when we are in Thailand on holiday my wife is going to apply for her new Thai Passport. She already had her 2 year extension in her current Thai passport so she needs to apply for a new biometric passport. Can someone please tell me what documentation she will need to bring with her so she can apply successfully for the new biometric passport.

    Thanks everyone

  7. My wifes Thai passport expires next year. We are going on holiday to Thailand this Summer so we thought she might aswell apply for a new passport while we are in Bangkok for a few days.

We live in the UK so we are just wondering what documentation will dhe need to bring to Thailand with her to apply for her new passport?

Also how long does the process take?

Any advice will be much appreciated

    Thanks everyone

  8. Hi,

My wife had her British passport interview a couple of weeks ago. She said they just asked her about some of the information she put down on her passport application form such as address, date entered uk, fathers birthday, postcode. 4 days after the interview she had her British passport delivered! happy days!

  9. My wife has her British Passport interview tomorrow. She is abit nervous cause she does'nt know what they are going to ask her. I told her they will probably just ask some questions from her British Passport application. i.e date entered UK, Date received British Citizenship, etc etc

  10. Today my wife received a letter from the UKBA (UK Border Agency) saying she has been granted British Citizenship. The only thing left to do is to attend a local ceremony and say an oath or pledge of allegience. I'm celebrating now on a second bottle of wine (so please excuse grammar and spelling).

So, to anybody else following this path it's fairly simple providing the person studies for and passes the exam and pays the fees. And before I get a load of questions asking me how etc, just go to the government websites. They are the best as they have the latest information on what to do.

Oh, and thanks to all who have helped us in the past.

    Cheers,

    Robin

    p.s. Next step UK passport.

Congratulations on that superb news Eastender. My wife had her British Citizenship ceremony last week and obtained the passports forms etc etc.

We filled out the passport forms and sent them away and received a letter yesterday saying that she has to attend a interview because it is her 1st British passport(Apparently everyone has an interview if its their first british passport). I am just wondering if anyone knows what does this interview entail?

    Thanks

  11. On monday this week my wife received a letter from the Home Office saying that she has been successful in her application for British Citizenship. Ofcourse we are absolutely delighted and have to attend the Citizenship ceremony next week where she has to give the oath of allegiance and receive her certificate. Next stop British passport!

We should have'nt any problems getting a passport now she has British Citizenship should we?

    Thanks

    everyone

  12. Certificates are issued by recognised awarding bodies only, and not by colleges themselves. We will only accept ESOL Skills for Life certificates (or in Scotland 2 ESOL Units at Access Level under the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework approved by the Scottish Qualification Authority) that have been awarded by one of the nine accredited awarding bodies:

 University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (ESOL Cambridge)

     Trinity College London

     City & Guilds (Pitmans)

     Edexcel

     English Speaking Board (International)(ESB)

     National Open College Network

 Open College of the North West (OCNW)

     Education Development International (EDI)

 The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA)

My wife has skills for life certificates from OCN so I presume that these will be fine

    Thanks

  13. The certificates says - regional programme in 'Skills for life'

She has several certificates, one for citizenship, reading and writting, speaking, ICT, etc etc however all of them are titled 'skills for life'

I think the letter I need from the college needs to confirm that my wife has progressed to the next level of the course.
