Trump Wants to Remove US Citizens from the US
WorriedNoodle replied to Etaoin Shrdlu's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
In other countries people with Real Madrid tats don't get deported in chains without due process to a third world prison cell. -
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the health secretary, has faced criticism from public health experts for his response to a measles outbreak in Texas, which he claimed is a model for the world. The outbreak, which has resulted in three deaths and nearly 500 cases, has been criticized for undercounted cases and late response from health officials. Kennedy has promoted his health agenda while downplaying the severity of the outbreak and endorsing unproven therapies. The decline in trust in vaccines, especially among Republicans, has contributed to the outbreak, and Kennedy's department, Health and Human Services, has undergone significant restructuring, resulting in the loss of thousands of positions and funding for immunization clinics. Measles was eliminated in the US in 2000. However, anti-vaccine sentiment first stoked by a fraudulent scientific paper in the Lancet and then by non-profits, such as the one Kennedy led for nearly a decade, has stoked a dramatic increase in vaccine hesitancy. The decline in trust in vaccines has been especially precipitous among Republicans and Republican-leaning adults. A Gallup poll from August 2024 found the percentage of Republicans who believe it is extremely important to vaccinate children fell from more than 60% in the early 2000s to 26% in 2024. As trust in vaccines wanes among Republicans, and Kennedy himself voices lackluster support, Kennedy has enjoyed high trust ratings among Republicans – nearly as high as Donald Trump himself.

The art of deflection seems to have reached unforeseen heights in the new GOP voter? I was not talking about Japan I was talking about the USA?

This is what happens when you let hill billies and sociopaths run the WH. Many countries have debt greater than GDP. Look at Japan. The USA has managed its debt and it was not broken due to a few key factors working in its favor: 1. Global reserve currency: The US dollar is widely held as a reserve currency by central banks and governments around the world. This creates a steady demand for US dollars and Treasury bonds, helping to keep borrowing costs relatively low. 2. Low interest rates: For a long time, interest rates have been low, making it cheaper for the US government to borrow money. Although rates have risen recently, they're still relatively low compared to historical standards. 3. Diversified economy: The US has a large, diversified economy with a strong services sector, innovative industries, and a highly developed financial system. Like @Digitalbanana said, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Utter madness. RFK Jr stayed silent on vaccine, says father of child who died from measles A Texas man who buried his eight-year-old daughter on Sunday after the unvaccinated child died with measles says Robert F Kennedy Jr “never said anything” about the vaccine against the illness or its proven efficacy while visiting the girl’s family and community for her funeral. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/apr/08/texas-funeral-measles-vaccine-rfk-jr

Thailand to Boost US Imports Amid Tariff Turmoil
WorriedNoodle replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Such condescending nonsense. World leaders should not even bother wasting money on a phone call to the USA. Just ignore them until they know how to behave and rescind their tariff nonsense. No one respects a bully nor should they negotiate with one. -
One of the key issues of vaccine conspiracy peddlers of misinformation like the op is that in recent years social media and sites like this one allow the op a voice when the misinformation peddler needs shutting down. This proliferated after Covid in the US. Presumably this makes the SM sites money but now we have the farcical situation of unvaccinated children dying in the US from measles, RFK Jnr getting a position of Health Sec who then visits kids funerals who have also died of Vitamin A toxicity based on his failed conspiracy offerings as an alternative to measles vaccines. Social media needs to hang its head in shame.

Idiots will occupy the WH for only 4 years and their policies will be killed by the mid terms, but markets will always go up. Is that what you mean?

Poll -- Should Hegseth Resign or Be Fired?
WorriedNoodle replied to Jingthing's topic in Political Soapbox
Every cock up by the current administration always includes a reference to Biden. Trumpeting deflections all day long. -
Why not have Russia be placed under temporary UN control to facilitate the election of what might be described as a more "competent" and "democratic" government, since they started this <deleted>efest to begin with?

While “impression” and “impressive” share the same root word (the Latin “imprimere” meaning “to press into”), the words have taken on different connotations in English. Using “impressive” to describe a tragic event can certainly come across as insensitive, even if the event left a deep impression on you.

Poll -- Will you support Canada or USA if war breaks out?

Support as in clicking a button on a web site poll form = keyboard warrior? Or boots on the ground kind of support? -

Rising Defiance: Armed Gaza Clans Call for Uprising Against Hamas
WorriedNoodle replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The intelligence levels of the average right wing extremist shows no bounds (at the lower end of the scale). Why would anyone with a modicum of proactive thought processes not see a revolt against Hamas by its own peoples as a step forward from the past 30 years of disastrous leadership.
