  1. no. base your decision on the stock. dont rent a place becoz the agent shows off a lot of legg......lol. stickman says agent try to sell you based on their sex appeal not on what you actually want.

the 1 time i had an agent show me a property omg she dressed like a prostitute.....................lol.

Well what do you think those "agents" (I use the term loosely) do on their day off? They don't exactly earn a fortune in their day job.

  2. I travel quite often to Ayutthaya The best way is by train at 15 baht ( Express & Rapid Trains are 20 baht ) normally takes 1 hour and 20 minutes. Next to the train station there are rooms from 150 Baht ( most of the average rooms seem to be reasonably priced at 200 Baht.) The late afternoon river cruise is a must ( 200 baht ) and to get around the temples and all the great Buddha delights i would strongly recommend renting a bicycle for around 30 Baht for the day.

Lopburi ( Planet of the apes ) is easy to get to by train ( about an hour away ) at around 15 baht. ( The station master @ Ayutthaya railway station is great and the staff are friendly ( just like myself.....) Loads of Trains to both places!!

But be careful in Lopburi - The Monkeys will be waiting for you...................................................... ( scary )

Here are some photos that i took on my last visit to Ayutthaya....

Marcus ( The farang on the bike... )

Wow, that's quite a bit cheaper than the trains in the UK. 15 baht, that's like 25p. In the UK, you'd be lucky to get a train for £25 (100 times more expensive) for a journey of 1 hour and 20 minutes!!! Okay maybe exaggerating a bit, sometimes you can get a journey of that length for about half that (e.g. £12) assuming you book well in advance!!!

  3. I was told bars in Bangkok and

Pattaya were to be closed today. However, I was told Nana Plaza bars seem to be opening? (All second hand info)

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

From what I heard, again second hand from an American friend who's a close friend of a high police official, all BKK bars (and of course 7-11 alcohol fridge) will be closed both Saturday and Sunday (until midnight Sunday) this weekend AND next weekend, regardless of whether the election goes ahead or not, as a "precautionary measure" (policeman's words) as a result of the declaration of the state of emergency. I have no idea about Pattaya, but hopefully you alcoholics will have something at home to tide you over until midnight Sunday when you can get stocked up again, otherwise it's the DT's for you...

  4. Bear in mind that any or all of those shopping malls could have been burned down by the end of February. When this same situation occurred in 2010, the mob did actually burn down Central World, but it was quickly rebuilt in 2 or 3 months. If it looks like a particularly dangerous day, I'd say stay at home and don't go shopping. Seeing your favourite mall burn down is bad enough, but much worse if you happen to still be inside at the time.

  5. Crown Tailor, soi 8 close to where it joins Sukhumvit. Made me an excellent suit from beautiful wool fabric, top quality workmanship, not cheap by any means but quality comes at a price. In my opinion, avoid those shops with guys standing outside who will try to talk you into going inside as you walk down the street. A true quality shop doesn't need to do that.

  6. Well, the trannies are definitely much easier on the eye here than in the UK. Their services probably cost a lot less too, though I haven't asked.

Well you should...you know you want to and I highly recommend them.

Ugh, no... You couldn't pay me enough money to go with one of them. You see, I'm heterosexual. Of course, what I hear all the time from the ladyboy fanciers is "I like ladyboys, but I'm not gay..." Talk about denial!

  7. About time too, because Bangkok already has its very own dedicated "Cat Park" (Lumpini). Have you seen the number of pussies that seem to live out their entire lives in there? They seem to be under the illusion that they're rabbits, because they certainly breed like them! Those park cats seem to lead an easy life compared to cats in other parts of Bangkok. They all look healthy, contented and well fed and I regularly see Thais feeding them dry and canned food. It's a dog's life!

  8. No it's not, it's called being a player. A player never pays. I'm in my 40s, not the best looking guy in Bangkok, and believe me I have been in Thailand many times for weeks or months at a time, and have NEVER paid for any female companionship. Don't think I would enjoy it the same at all if I was forced to pay for it. Of course, sometimes that means you can't have the same girl twice... But that's one "price" I'm prepared to "pay". Even if you think she's a "pro", if she doesn't mention that she wants "remuneration" before you get down to it, that's her mistake and you're under no obligation whatsoever to compensate her. If you do, more fool you.

You should get that bullshit printed on a T Shirt...I'm sure you'd sell at least 3....

Sounds like you've been listening to too much of that there Hippity-Hoppity music....

Good luck with that being a "Player" defence when her Motorcycle taxi husband calls around with a few pals wanting his whiskey money....

    someone's jimmies are rustled lol

Don't worry about my 'jimmies'. Worry about your own when the bills start coming in lol...if you can't even afford to pay inexpensive hookers, you can't have much of a lifestyle or job outside your own imagination...

Shouldn't you be up to the taters in all these billions 'free' hookers you Playaz attract? or did you need to give the wrist a rest to carry on trolling?

In short, no woman likes a heavy drinker. If you stopped drinking, you might find they were much more likely to go with you without asking to be paid for the inconvenience. Or are you going to say that HeavyDrinker is just your TV username and has no relation to your lifestyle? BTW, you used the term "free hookers"; nice oxymoron there. I take it therefore that you automatically assume every woman you meet is a hooker, or maybe only in the areas you hang out? As you seem to be complaining about having to pay for it, perhaps you should start looking for it in entirely different places? (Hint: Not Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy or Patpong areas!)

  9. If that makes me a douche ill just have to be a douche. As the old saying goes never assume. Girls better negotiate before leaving.

There are no hiso girls in those places I went. One will have to go to Thong Lo and Ekkamai to find them.

    Hopefully tonight is fruitful also.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Another one so proud with himself for "stealing" a freebee from a hooker bah.gif.pagespeed.ce.-cCHYEZ1Lo.gif

He'll be on here piping up how "he never paid for it in his life" and he is truly a "handsome man"? How sad.

What's next? Stealing her phone? rolleyes.gif

    RAZZ

You got me confused. Nothing impressive or to be proud about when pulling a slut / hooker / farang groupie. Happens every night in BKK and around the world.

Im just out looking to have fun, listen to music, dance, and get laid (without paying).

The after hour clubs provide me with the best chance to do the above with only a few days in town.

    It is what it is.

Sampling the goods and not paying is stealing.

No it's not, it's called being a player. A player never pays. I'm in my 40s, not the best looking guy in Bangkok, and believe me I have been in Thailand many times for weeks or months at a time, and have NEVER paid for any female companionship. 10. It was rammed at 8pm when all the shopping centres closed, huge queues inside and outside of the ticket barriers. Came back an hour later at 9pm and it was very quiet.

Rammed? Scary stuff! You mean hundreds of protestors tried to stop the train by turning themselves into a human battering ram? I bet that got messy.

  11. Try to keep it simple, and don't bother with anything that has "royal" "siam" or "elephant" in the name. Obvious names (and combinations) are most likely already taken (i.e. Brit-Siam Trading, Can-Thai Investments, US-Thai Holdings, etc).

When using English, avoid those nasty English words with "silent" letters if possible, like "Prompt Psycho Knicker-Knockers".

Actually, I do rather like that suggestion you came up with. Prompt Psycho Knicker-Knockers sounds like it could be a big hit among the bar girls, but not sure what product or services you would sell to them. Protection money from customers or international debt collection from deadbeat benefactors, perhaps?

  12. I just love it how these forums always attract the highest of the high rollers. To be honest, if you can only afford to pay 6,000 baht a month for a room, what are you doing thinking about coming to live in Thailand? The air ticket alone must represent several months' wages/pension/benefit for you.

  13. Asoke is one of the affected intersections, but took a stroll along Suk. toward there around 4:30 this afternoon... Quiet, not much traffic, but shops, restaurants, banks, exchange windows... all open. Some shops inside mall bldgs closed. Very very few of the usual sidewalk vendors. Some taxis running; no busses though. Around 5 there was a march towards Asoke. Music, singing, flag-waving, crowd from one sidewalk to the other. The Asoke area itself seemed more like a rock concert than a political rally during the short time I was there. BIG crowd though. Food & drink stands. Sort of a holiday or festival atmosphere. No signs of anybody seizing anything...

Yep, dead right... I walked down Sukhumvit from Ploenchit to Asoke late this afternoon too. Rarely have it seen it look so peaceful. You could walk quickly without having to dodge people, food carts and stalls and even the air smelled fresher than normal. It was so incredibly relaxing, and I wish Bangkok was like this all the time. It was almost like I imagine the city might have been 20 years ago when there was probably 1/3 the number of cars on the roads there is today. Blissful experience! Every cloud has a silver lining.

  14. Has anyone had any experience of supermarket shopping today? I'm stocked up, for about a week, but after that I will need to get some foodstuffs, or leave the country until things settle down. Normally I shop at Central Food Hall, (in Ploenchit), but alas that road is now closed.

If people can share their experiences of getting around the city today and in the coming days, it would be helpful. Like most, I have not ventured out today at all. I live in Sathorn. My maid lives in Lad Prao and turned up for work today as usual. She said it took a long time to get here. I have left it up to her own discretion whether she comes to work or not; (she is very loyal and trustworthy.)

Indeed, the road is closed. I ordered my maid to proceed to Central Food Hall ON FOOT and, in a troubling turn of affairs, she phoned me to report that the store is completely out of quail's eggs, lollo rosso lettuce AND cilantro. Quite worrisome, as she always makes me a quail egg salad on Mondays. Alas, should this most distressing situation of food shortages continue then I fear I may have no option but to make a dash for Pattaya where I'm sure Central shall not be experiencing such deprivations, unless of course they shut down the airport AGAIN, in which case all imported foodstuffs are out and then it's either drive to Hat Yai and fly to Singapore or make do with the dreadfully spicy local Thai rubbish! Just when I thought this country was starting to become civilised!
