  1. Out of curiosity, why would one live in Pattaya but then drink at a pub that is very similar to a pub back home, with no Thai-specific entertainment on offer? I'm curious. And also a little concerned, because I don't want to end up that way!

At first I suspected that people would pop in and out of that place to 'cool off' as it were from other activities, but this doesn't seem to apply, as I see the same faces attached to the same seats pretty much every day.

Simple, its not a lady bar so you dont get pestered when you just want to have a beer etc, personally i have a lot of friends who frequent the bar for just those reasons, you will be telling me next that you only watch thai tv eat thai food and sing thai karaoke next. <_<

  2. If Thailand is "too expensive for Australians', wouldn't it be too expensive for Chinese, Indians and Russians too?

Bali is only a very short distance by plane from Darwin, Australia. Believe me , Bali is still a fantastic place for tourists and expats. I have been visiting there for the last 30 years. ;)

    Agreed :)

  3. Seriously where is this written??????????????????????????????????????

    Police Order 777/2551

2.4 In the case of tourists:

Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 30 days at a time but not exceeding 90 days in total, counting from the entry date.

    (1) The alien has obtained a tourist visa

    (2) The alien must not be of the nationality or type restricted by the Performance Follow-up Committee attached to the Immigration Bureau.

    Police Order 2008.pdf

2 YEARS OUT OF DATE :annoyed:

  4. He has a normal tourist visa so can extend 30 days on that permitted to stay time. He will have to have the permitted to stay stamp transferred into the new passport and notation of the visa made in it. Once that is done he can extend for 30 days in a normal manner using TM.7 form and paying the 1,900 baht fee. There is no charge of the transfer but a small form to fill out.

WHAT????? you can extend a tourist visa stamped at BKK for another 30 days by doing what, Jomtien soi 5 and paying the usual cost , i dont think so or have i had 1 too many leos tonight and not understood your explination

A Tourist Visa can be extended for a further 30 days at Immigration. 1,900 Baht.

    since when?

  6. Any way when the wife winges about the street vendors making up there prices on a daily basis never mind the bars, supermarkets and fuel stations i know then its getting rediculous,(wife thinks in pounds in case anyone asks ) so 46.7 return at the art shop this morning, we still do not see why there is such a massive change over the last 2/3 years, did Arnold Swartzaneeger come to town with his Terminators looking for Sarah Connor????????

    P.s........ ill be back

  7. I think that you mean the Baht reaches yearly high

If there is such a thing as the high season this year, More foreign money coming into the country is going to push the Baht even higher.

So don't expect any improvement in the exchange rate in the near future.

Sorry everyone i meant the pound to the baht, Spannky bot bot for me i always presume everyone is thinking GBP bearing in mind my avatar gives a clue or seven.

Anyway good comments but really,............. i still dont get it.:blink: :jap:
