Good thing that eagle eye ATC saw that engine fire before the pilots hit V1 take-off speed.

Always amused that whenever a car here is illegally parked and blocking traffic flow, it's booted so it will continue blocking traffic. Where I come from, the offending car would be towed, problem solved. Tow truck drivers make good money towing these cars, so there's no shortage of willing drivers for this task. It'd makes sense to implement it here, but...

We've stayed at the Suansin Lanna Hotel in Tak on occasion. basic and cheap. Tak has a nice waterfront area with plenty of street food.

I would go to a shop for the headlights and have them install the proper bulb(s) and aim them so you won't be blinding oncoming drivers on the road. You should be able to just change the bulb for an LED one for the backup light.

Might try Chouquette Bakery and Cafe'. Located just outside the Sripoom corner of the moat.

My Samsung smart tv supports the AIS Play app. Good Olympic coverage if you also have an AIS sim card.

Yes..I also use Skype. They have plans to get a number where anyone can reach you via a normal US number...you select the area code region. Also gives you unlimited calling when dealing with banks, activiating new credit cards, etc etc. Works a charm...been using it for 6 years now without a hitch.
I'm using a Ting Mobile sim card since some financial intuitions will only send a 2 factor authentication code to a mobile phone. It's about $9 a month. It must be activated in the US and it does have roaming. After you move back to Thailand, don't forget to file your annual FBAR reports online. Tax filing will be more complicated but I use Turbo Tax and it makes it much smoother.
I sure wish I had dual USA and Thai citizenship.

McHenry Blvd. was the cruising street in the 70's. Stockton has been a cesspool for at least 60 yrs.
I used to go to the Graffiti nights on McHenry back around then. Huge amount of hotrods, classic and modified cars cruising with thousands of spectators. It was awesome until the crowds got too rowdy and Modesto eventually outlawed cruising.
Oops, sorry about going off topic here.

Stockton shenanigans is creeping into Lodi, gang crime, shootings. Looking forward to going back after almost 2 yrs in LOS.
My folks are from Modesto, too bad about Lodi, used to be a friendly and affordable town. That area wouldn't be my first pick to retire in though. I grew up in San Diego, I'd like to live there and there's lots to do for retirees but I've been priced out. Some Californians are cashing out and retiring to Lake Tahoe, the Nevada side for the lower taxes.

"Currently it appears there is no choice as to which vaccine people receive - either AstraZeneca of Sinovac."????????????
I've been told that for those over 60, it'll be AstraZeneca.

From Bangkok CM hospital, June 3rd, received notification that the government registered vaccinations has been postponed.

"Moderna last month applied for vaccine registration in Thailand, which should be approved soon, said Withoon Danwiboon, head of the Government Pharmaceutical Organization."
What are they waiting for?

Perhaps Thailand's immigration should have access to USA's criminal records. I know if I enter into Canada from the US, they'll have immediate access to my records. They are many people who are refused entry into Canada because of a criminal conviction including DUI arrests.

Looks like they were chained up and probably couldn't escape the falling tree, sad.

As the others has said, you're going to be stuck finding an affordable GPU. I've seen a second hand gtx 1060(dual fan) on FB marketplace for around 4K baht. Just saw a listing for RX570 for 4,200 baht. Both should fit in a mini tower case.

We used to stop in Nakhon Sawan, hotels are cheap there.

You should be able to get the marriage certification at the USA consulate in CM and the Thai certification of translation for the marriage certificate done at the CM passport office. I can't answer if the CM immigration requires that be done in Bangkok.

GRAB has been great for CM. I use them whenever I go into town for drinks, I live a bit out of town. Much better than getting stopped at one of CM infamous drink driving checkpoints on the way home.
Also, it's very difficult to describe where my destination is with my limited Thai and the impossible to pronounce street names in CM to a taxi or tuk tuk driver. Having it pinned on the GRAB app works wonders.
Plus, it's cheap.

Usually I bring a book to read while I wait to be called whenever I go to the consulate since my phone is held at the entrance.

Problem with Phuket is that they catered almost exclusively to foreign tourists. It's just not the high prices for rooms. If you wanted any kind of decent Thai food, in many places, you can't find any, just expensive watered down Thai food if you're lucky. Then you have the expensive tuk tuks and taxis, etc. It became a classic tourist trap that locals will avoid.
