There are a lot of flights from Europe to Thailand via China with these airlines. Might have more of an effect on tourist numbers than just the Chinese.

Real news concerns shootings, car accidents, sinking boats etc.
The fake news comes from the Government and police who every time promise to implement measures to prevent these incidents from occurring!

They seem to imply that tourists visit Thailand specifically For The Loy Krathong festival. They don't, it's just getting to the start of high season, that's all

Sugar in noodles, curries, many other foods, Coke at breakfast, lunch and dinner, three in one coffee, sweet Thai tea, Hales Blue Boy syrup etc etc. No surprise that diabetes cases are on the up in Thailand, and how many don't have a clue they have it?

So many reaction icons now available to use on AseanNow but I'm still waiting for a "shaking head in disbelief" one. Could have been used multiple times today, not least for this story!

Q4 hasn't finished yet! I think they must be confused with four consecutive profitable quarters.

Thailand Election law does not permit MP to retain his or her seat as an independent. The seat belongs to the party and they won their seats because of the party they represented.
What about the MPs that change party during a Parliamentary term?

Thanet also pointed out that high-spending tourists generally prefer European destinations over Thailand during the peak season.
Total rubbish. The European peak season and the Thai peak seasons are completely different.

I'm sure there is a huge market, not just here, for a low alcohol, good tasting beer/larger, say 2% or 3%.....some people want to drink, enjoy the taste, but don't want to end up flat on our backs.
Becoming more common in the UK. The problem is it's the same price as a 4.5% beer.
I shall look forward to trying the new beers when Im back in Thailand.
I wonder what will happen with Move Forward's progressive alcohol bill? Are ther enough sensible MPs to get it through?

For the purposes of this exercise, I'd say "rich" is the lowest figure the Government can get away with excluding from the 10,000 baht payout!

There may be pitfalls as mentioned above but that's not the picture the Daily Mail wants to paint. This newspaper loves nothing more than a dig at the NHS

Legalizing Casinos would be a huge problem. No tea money anymore for police officers to look the other way.
They're talking about legaising casinos, not legalising gambling for the masses. Plenty of tea money still to be had.

Expensive but easy. One of those countries that gives a passport for a wad of cash.

Four incisions in the shoulder? So, two months in hospital in preparation, maybe two months recuperation before he's sent home for being a good boy!

They've been doing this in the UK for years.
Most of the "special packs" are worth less than the face value of the stamps. Modern stamps may be nice to look at but they are not an investment.

They could of course wait until May next year when the senate members' tenure officially ends. But I'm sure this unelected pro-military body will somehow find a way to extend their time milking the system.

Do they actually believe that anyone is fooled by this charade?
You need to be practically on death's door to spend the amount of time in hospital that he has.
And we'll all be amazed when he makes a full recovery on the day of his parole!

Certainly not a new initiative. If they use common sense they will hand this package of goodies out in return for the 300 baht entrance fee so it seems thaat tourists will be getting something for their money....if that ever happens!

Another good reason to base myself in the UK and visit Thailand as a tourist for a few months.

Thailand’s plan to extend Songkran raises eyebrows and 5.1 billion baht in soft power bid
in Thailand News

A 5.1 billion baht to increase the appeal of Thailand as a tourist destination by the use of soft power? In addition to the TAT budget, I assume. Let's hope they can come up with better ideas than the extension of Songkran, which is more likely to prevent tourists from , which will probably keep more tourists away than the number it will attract.
And what will local businesses and individuals think about this? Oh, and they're expecting a shortage of water following El Nino next year!
