Does this mean prices will go back down to pre-covid levels? Some of the prices I'm seeing on Facebook in particular seem much too high but if people are buying them then who can blame the sellers and, in particular, the agents?

I took one mouthful of that horrible drink once, spat it out and have never touched it again.

I'm hoping it's due to the balcony not being high enough, at least there might be someone to sue.
I've heard that some insurance policies will deny any claim if you've got any detectable alcohol in your blood.
Considering a lot of people like a drink or two when on holiday that kind of negates the usefulness of the policy for what might be a large percentage of the persons stay. One glass of wine might be enough to negate your insurance. Buyer beware.Time will tell I guess.
Travel insurance would pay if there was an issue with a balcony or building. The insurers would then file a claim against the building owners, who would hopefully have public liability insurance, though levels of cover in Thailand might be low. It's standard market practice and is known as subrogation.
I would guess that a drugs/alcohol exclusion would be the most likely reason to deny liability but without knowing the facts I wouldn't want to speculate further.,
I would also add that if someone has an accident after just a couple of beers and it is demonstrated that alcohol consumption was not a contributing factor to the accident, insurers may not decline a claim under UK law. A travel insurance bought in the UK will be subject to UK laws.

Supasorn said that the Thai government has devised policies such as high-quality service standards and public health measures to boost travelers' confidence.
Looking forward to seeing how these things have improved.

Party dissolution is nothing but a tool used by the military government in their bid to preserve power. It worked last time out.
It's a ridiculous system as all the dissolved parties reform under a different name but it just takes time, which is perfect for those in power to nullify the opposition.
Waiting to see how it plays out over the next few weeks.

My wife is a Thai university Asociate Prof, PhD (not a Thai PhD) and would run rings around all fly-in, fly-out pretend farang (so called) teachers' who supposedly know how to teach English grammar.
Maybe you could ask her to teach you the basics of the use of the apostrophe ????

Have they worked out how they're going to collect it for arrivals by air then as I've not seen it mentioned anywhere? I'm sure airlines and agents will not want to have the responsibility of only collecting from non-Thais and non-work permit holders.

Good luck with that. Insurance would not pay one baht in this case.
It would entirely depend upon the wording and in most cases of it was not a deliberate or reckless act insurance would cover this loss.

Is Thailand still in the 20th century when it comes to credit card use? (I've been back in the UK for a while, hence the non-rhetorical question).
I haven't used a signature to pay by card in years and I have never shown a passport to use a card. Everywhere requires a PIN.
Along with the previous comments regarding non-cancellation this does seem a bit odd for 2023.

Try another one then if you have had dealings with him before. I get on well with him but I am an insurance professional so talk roughly the same language!

Speak to a broker. They should be able to give you a definitive answer and find cover if available. try Eric Dohlon at Bangkok Insurance Brokers (Google to find the phone number)

I know Thailand always reacts after certain events, never even consider pre-emptive actions, but security checks to get on a bus? Surely not!
Two people shot on a bus and they come up with grand plans. Several hundred people killed or injured in bus accidents every year and nothing changes.

If tourism numbers double it'll be mostly from other Asian countries, particularly China and India. I would envisage when it reaches this stage it'll probably be off the radar of many European and Western tourists.

In the recent tourism years, so pre covid, there was no low season anymore due to Chinese booking year round.
That's not right Steven. Businesses that catered to Chinese tourists had less of a low season but for those that didn't there was a normal low season and prices reflected this.

People with e-cigarettes in their possession, therefore, violate the law for accepting or owning prohibited products and can be fined up to 500,000 baht and/or get a jail term of up to five years.
