500 billion baht of tax payers money lost and they are still thinking if they should issue an impeachment order for Yingluck!
If only they'd sent farmers a cheque instead of this stupid scheme.

Customs is the most corrupt part of the government IMHO. They have no shame at all and are a major impediment to legitimate businesses and trade. Seriously need the cleaners put through them.

The Thai definition.of middle class even remotely match with the west. How many as a percentage can declare an income of 100k per month in Thailand?
Why do you take an income of 100K / month as a measure to who belongs to the middle class ? IMO at 40K / month in Thailand you already belong to the middle class. We are talking about someone with a minimum of education who can work at entry level in a medium technology company. I believe that's what want to achieve Gen Prayuth and a 12 years period to achieve this goal is reasonable.
More like 20k.

He may well be right, but how can they possibly do it? Just fixing the broken education system is going to take a generational change.

Of course the murder charge was dismissed. All criminal charges against these totalitarian/fascist criminals will be dismissed. How soon for the International Court of Justice to lay charges of crimes against humanity against these murderers. Absolutely sickening what is going on in Thailand!
If you look up the definition of murder you might come to understand why a murder charge against Abhisit was ridiculous.
If they'd ginned up some charge based on recklessness, negligence or similar perhaps there would be some chance of holding him personally responsible for the deaths. "Murder" however was cheap political theatrics for the benefit of numpties, and pressure to get him to support the amnesty bill.
What's going on in Thailand now is much better than what we had pre-coup. No political protests, bombs or violence. And a few things cleaned up too.

Yes, the EC are the cleanest of clean.
What a complete shower, now they show their true colors now their nemesis are out of the way.
They will be a few more that will have the open fist up their backs controlling them making sure as many indictments as possible will be made ensuring that Yingluck et all will not be be returning, for the time being anyway.
Nobody is forcing the Shinawatras to flee. If they had a spine to share between them they'd stay to answer the charges.

Considering the fraud science that is perpetrated by the likes of Hanson and Mann et.al. The IPCC report which keeps being quoted as the bible is a regurgitation of false information.
All the computer models say we should be another degree warmer, but temperatures have either not changed or have gone down in the last 15 years. The amount of ice in the Arctic and Antarctic has grown. The US Great Lakes broke new records of ice, but one year is not climate.
How can the US historical temperature go down in the early 20th century and be higher than measured in the late 20th century? First, historical data doesn't change, unless modified by an agency with a flawed computer models and a agenda.
Statistical studies show fewer storms and less energy than historical norms have happened over the last years. One reason these storms seem so bad, there are more people and development in harms way.
The lesser countries are looking to cash in on a global tax bonanza, and they are just lining up for the payoff.
The 97% of scientists agreeing is another bogus lie, but the propaganda masters know if you tell it long enough and often enough it will be believed.

No the reason for the coup was that the yellows are unelectable so once again they hit the streets and force the army to stage a coup.
If you take the word of the peoples medium they have plotted this since 2010.
Anyway Thailand is where it is and the next elections will prove once again who the people really want!
You may be suprised at the next Election. Thaksins Village Fund Scheme will have been dismantled, so 70,000 villages will now get to have a vote according to their own wishes and not a compulsory one as under your beloved Reds.
Again and again with this non-sense. It has been proven quite clearly that people do not vote based on who gives them more money. And the army is in no way doing itself any favors by silencing people outright. The democrats are going to lose harder than they ever have in the past in the next elections.
If vote buying didn't influence voting behaviour politicians wouldn't do it. And you would appear to be rather ignorant of this little cultural thing called patronage.

No, everyone has so much hatred for the coup-throwers that the PTP no longer need to dangle anything anymore to get the votes. And they do it because they don't want any loses, please go do some research, I think you may be the ignorant one here. Vote buying is occurring less and less with each subsequent election, i think this widespread vote-buying everyone speaks of by the PTP is nothing more than propaganda. Not saying there isn't any, but both sides do it and it's not anywhere as nearly as big as the mainstream narrative portrays it to be.
Vote buying is propaganda eh? You are completely disconnected from the reality of Thai society. Go ask the nearest Thai - if you know one.
Positively comical.

Of course she is innocent. She always has been. So take this one and put it where the sun doesn't shine.
Keep on cheer leading, your team is going down the tube for corruption regardless.

This is a survey on Thai corruption conducted by Thais at a time when everything being reported has to be positive ?
Accuracy guaranteed then ?
15-25% loss to corruption is good news?

Downgrading military relations is such a load of <deleted>. First hint of trouble in the region and these sanctimonious western nations will be falling over themselves to get Thai cooperation.

"slavery" is IMHO too strong a word - as I understood from the report, most of the workers are scammed into working, i.e. brokers and transporters fabricate a bogus debt that the worker has to repay, but cannot, because it keeps growing. "exploitation" would be a more accurate word for describing the situation of most of the alleged slaves.
I was unable to find details about what keeps the exploited persons from simply running away, apart from believing the bullshit that's fed to them.
I hope the junta will correct the situation. Every foreigner should have a work permit and be in possession of his passport. Employers in breach of the Law should be punished harshly.
The Thai fishing industry absolutely does has slavery. It's not a strong word, it's the reality.
