  1. Ok, i will answer my own question, at the Sebring 12hr race patnered with Graham Hill, the Maserati was 45psi front,50psi Rear, 1961..

As for studded tyres, dunno, perhaps Imatra,Finland?

    Ok next question .

Who was sitting next to Damon Hill on basic school when his dad won the F1 in 1968?

This about the same kind of question as about the tyre pressuressmile.png

  2. If you have address, no problem. You must get letter from your Embassy or ''perhaps'' your local immigration will issue the letter.

Or get it from the local Amphur's office as I did with the help of my landlord when I lived up North.

OP it is not really a difficult procedure to get the car in your name and definitely worth the effort because it is yours 100% and you can sell it or whatever you wish in the future.

It depends a lot on the person on who s name it is now .

As we know not every one is dependable here in Thailand.

Incase of any doubts its defenatly worth the afford with a bit of luck you do the hole thing in a day .

Me of course, set up a test day tongue.pnglicklips.gif ... In case you hadn't noticed that's a team Mercedes white drivers suit I'm wearing....

Well seeing as you are Stig maybe you will get the job.rolleyes.gif

Naaaaaaaaaaaaah, imposter, Warpy's pic is Johnny Herbert. laugh.png

Are you sure he isn t this man?

Andrea de Cesaris is an Italian former race car driver. He started 208

Formula One Grands Prix but never won; his is the longest career without

a race victory. A string of accidents early in his career earned him

    the nickname 'Andrea de Crasheris'cheesy.gif

  4. Is there large (as in +1000cc) choppers for rent on koh chang ?

Al I know big bikes are for rent there for more info you should go to the farang biker cafe /restaurant .

I forgot the name but its easy to find comming from the ferry turn right go over the mountains then after 10 km or so its on the left side

  5. I did this many times renting 2 yamaha mio s they are the most easy to handle .

We payed 600 baht a day for them talking 2009 and 10 here.

You get them with a dem tang when you bring it back you need to pay the fuel wich go in there again.

They also run service pick it up at the resort I think the hole thing is relaxed but they will need a thai driver license if not possible another one

    or a pasport.

So you come back with it

And about the danger you have to drive slow where people are thats al

The beauty of it is you can not get lost its one long round way up to the last 100 meter there it stops so you can not drive around al the way

    only on foot.

Along the road there are many wine bottle fuel sellers so running out of it is almost impossible to.

I wouldn t recomend hiring a Harley Davidson this is possible to

  6. Oh running a petrol or LPG station isn't that profitable if you have to pay rent or buy the land, it is if you owned the land from when it was worth very little. Using the land for generating more money is were the money is easily made up.

As you may have guessed LPG would be making the least. Stick with petrol and diesel and go to the oldest station there is, it's much less likely they'll need to rip you off.

Don t forget they no have serious costs for the people who pump in the LPG for you.

They are most of the time young womans or boys who don t get more then 300 baht a day or maybe even less who knows.

Today I drove 265 km with a filled up tank after this put in 500 baht 36 liters only al this with a 15 year old 6 cilinder 2.5 liter engine automatic car

You try this with a 15 year old diesel 2.5 automatic it will run 1 liter 9 km and I will need 29 liters of diesel almost 900 baht

  7. Still don't know what this about. Hope it's not someone saying SM is gay. rolleyes.gif ....coffee1.gif

Nahh he said he didn't want a Gay Actor to portray him, should a Film be made of his Life

I am available. thumbsup.gif ............smile.png He said no GAY actors! tongue.pnglaugh.png... Seriously though I'd be a much better choice for the part but only if it really involves driving and especially the classic race cars of the time.

And who say s you can handle this Mercedes Benz 300 SLR better then me?smile.png

  8. The meter on the tank Is not in liters its a meter who shows the percentage based on the pressure .

But easy to count your liters as long as you know the total what fits in there

The meter with the leds in the car works with a level on a small steal arm wich floats .

Because lpg is far more less exact with being gas and liqued then petrol this reading always is very

    slow and unreliable.

  9. It is a bit complicated yes.

To get it on your name you need to produce an address so this could be your gf address .

But you have to register there to.

Then you take the greenbook signed by your gf and a copy from her ID and a reciept from the bike where you bought it before

if you no have this need to make one between the 2 of you.

And a copie of your pasport.

Then you go to the nearest transport office with al the papers, without complications you will pay around 1000 baht for this.

But the officer will check the bike and you need to bring the bike same as a car .

If there are modifications on the bike price will go up for the hole thing or you change the bike to standard and come back

What they don t like at al is a different engine number then in the greenbook if you have this you need a signed statement

from the people who delivered and fitted the engine under the bike incl the price.

  10. I m still curious where was this leakage in the LPG system.

I don t know how they do it exactly maybe start on 50 baht and starting filling up you tank with this amount

    on the meter already.

1 LPG station here has a bad name this one we don t use my dad in law said this before.

What I always do myself is count the liters after its filled up if this is higher then what fits in the tank they are not honest.

  11. I experience this noise when 4x4 is not engaged. The problem is that when I took it to the shop three days ago, we could not get the truck to make the noise. I told the mechanic that I thought it was probably the cv joint but I could not translate that to Thai and the English wording meant nothing to him. My wife had already taken the Vigo to Toyota a week earlier to ask what would be required to repair the power-steering fluid leak. It was examined and she was told that the steering rack needed replacement and that it would cost 22,000 baht just for the parts, which seemed steep to me especially since the clunking sound had not yet started.

It was a couple of days later when I first heard it as I turned right forward at full lock (a very serious sounding single clunk). That's when I took it to my usual repair shop expecting the job to be done much cheaper.

With my now obvious ignorance of vehicle mechanics, I believed that this steering rack incorporated the cv joint. I don't mind you laughing because I'm still clueless!!!

Nope there is the steering and the driveshafts on the frontside with a 4 wheeldrive.

You problably still have to change one of these driveshafts or just one joint on it sometimes this is possible.

To check out under the car wich one it is most of the time the one with the most backlass when you puss it back and foward or up and down.

Because of the wheel changing its angle a lot combined with the engine putting power on it in 4x4 drive the ones on the wheelside are the ones to have the hardest life.

I bet its one of these joints.

  12. So think about how cheap the 2nd hand BMW is here........ see why.

    2002/3 BMW 523 cost 3.55 million

    2002/3 Honda Accord 2.4 cost 1.4 million

    2002/3 Toyota Camry 2.4 cost 1.4 million..

So today you can buy all 3 makes, 2nd hand for somewhere around 700,000 baht. so BMW is very cheap 2nd hand here. maybe a better way to look at it..

    2002/3 Honda Accord 2.4 cost 1.4 million !!!!

In NZ I bought 5 years ago a 1990 Honda Accord with the WOF ready for just 60000 bath happy.png

Can I ask if with a Tourist Visa can I buy a car here?

Even with no visa you can buy a car here smile.png putting it on your name you need an adres in Thailand

  13. Is certain documentation required to drive a Thai registered vehicle into:

    1 - Laos

    2 - Malaysia and Indonesia

    and back into Thailand?

Sure a valuable bluebook and an Insurancepolicy wich covers damage abroad aswell.

International driverlicense together with your home license or a Thai driver license .

    And your pasport ofcourse.

And incase of a bluebook registration on a person not present in the car I would take with me

a short signed statement your alowed to go over the border with it.

  14. Do not expect this year will be any different......... there are 18 - 25 FREE LIVE F1 streams over the internet, [myself normally watch it on Sky Sport or Fox Sports, both in HD]

Hehe yeah, lots of those - but all look absolutely terrible on a 65" TV no matter how good your connection is wink.png

Not to mension you get kicked out to when its to buzzy on there internetserver or on any other joints the hole thing get so enoying

    You give up by yourself.

Ebenezer Ecclestone uses only the premiumchannels the ones who pay enough for his F1 goldstream.

  15. My Wife made a good point. The Renters Tint was too much, you only have mild tint on your cars. True enough, but i find all standard power too low in unlit areas . It has a Bulls Eye looking thing, and a normal looking one, so bunging in a couple of cheapoes from Lotus is out. Guess ill need RR3000 Suggestion. The Shop by Honda seems a bit Mudflaps n Helo Kitty to me.Thanks.coffee1.gif

Cheapos from the Tesco Lotus will just give you the color of Xenon and not more light at al sometimes even less light.

The Korean sets a friend of mine uses in his Ford Ranger for over a year and so far they didn t let him down.

While the chinese set I used before let me down on one side at the same daybah.gif
