  1. Some more on this and why it could, potentially, be bad news for Ukraine and the world in general: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-62973415 https://news.sky.com/story/speculation-that-putin-will-give-national-address-defending-efforts-to-annex-ukrainian-regions-12702081
  2. Looks like confirmation that they have no intention of stopping at Ukraine, assuming they get the chance:- The head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, has restated the expansionist military aims of Russia’s invasion, saying “Our task is to liberate all Russian cities that were founded by Russian people during the time of the Russian Empire, and developed during the Soviet Union thanks to the help of our entire vast country. And this is not only the territories of Novorossia [the Donbas], but also much wider. It will not be any other way.” https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2022/sep/02/russia-ukraine-war-live-news-updates-un-nuclear-team-zaporizhzhia-power-plant-moscow-warns-moldova-against-attack-latest
  3. No surprise, Ukraine has been blamed. What happens now? Nothing good that's for sure!! https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2022/aug/22/russia-ukraine-war-shelling-rocks-nikopol-near-nuclear-plant-zelenskiy-warns-moscow-against-trial-of-ukrainian-soldiers-live-news#top-of-blog https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-62631265 A bit more info here: https://news.sky.com/story/ukraine-unlikely-to-be-behind-car-bomb-that-killed-daughter-of-putin-ally-alexander-dugin-12679128
  4. On the old system always entered my full name. On the new system didn't enter first and middle name as not indicated as required, no problem for the first two ocassions, accepted within a day or so. Last week submitted again, without first and middle names and today rec'd an e-mail "rejected". Just re-submitted (not due until 27 this month) - will see what happens!
  5. Officials from the DPR, who were holding Mr Urey, said he died in captivity on 10 July from underlying health conditions and "stress". Maybe they took his insulin away from him? https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-62178505

  7. Many thanks Skatewash, nothing for me to worry about then! The very first time I applied for a Thai licence (many years ago) one went to the cigarette stall in the car park, wrote out your full name on a piece of paper, handed over 100 baht and waited 15 minutes for a motorbike to come back with the medical certificate!
  8. Anyone know what these standard "5 diseases" are? Thanks.
  9. Many thanks Ubonjoe. It's for my wife's friend (Thai) who visits here every year with her British husband for some months at a time, staying at their BKK condo in her name. I understand he normally obtains a multiple entry but this year the UK Embassy would only grant a 1 mth visa. So they went to Immigration yesterday to renew and were asked where's the TM30? - what's that!! To be fair how are they supposed to know about this, my wife got caught on this some while back - 800 THB! They asked me to register online for them and then submit. However as he has now been here for 1 mth the online form wil only accept a date within 24 hrs so best they try to sort out at immmigration, no doubt it will end up costing them.
  10. Anyone know which building in Muang Thani is for doing TM30? Brief directions within the complex would also be useful. Many thanks.
  11. My wife tried the qq system yesterday for me but it seemed to require a minimum of 3 peoples ID card nos. Is there some way around this? Thanks.
  12. Doctor who discovered Omicron variant says UK 'panicking unnecessarily' and that symptoms 'extremely mild' The doctor who discovered the Omicron variant said the UK was “panicking unnecessarily” and that the symptoms are “extremely mild”. Dr Angelique Coetzee, chair of the South African Medical Association, told The Andrew Marr Show she first encountered the variant in a man in his early 30s who presented with tiredness and a mild headache, but none of the usual coronavirus symptoms. She said: “What we are seeing clinically in south Africa, and remember I’m at the epicentre - that’s where I’m practising - it’s extremely mild. For us, that’s mild cases.” When asked if the UK was “panicking unnecessarily”, she said: “I think you already have it there in your country and you’re not knowing it, and I would say, yes, at this stage I would say definitely. “Two weeks from now maybe we will say something different.” Taken from:- https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2021/nov/28/covid-live-news-uk-germany-and-italy-detect-omicron-cases-israel-bans-all-visitors
