  1. I like to believe there always is πŸ™‚ Little drastic but discontinuing their service is an option. However inconvenient, as that would mean going cash-only or via troublesome/pricier workarounds. Somewhat surprised no one here seems to stumble over this fine print. I wonder how many Thais would trust and agree to authorize their bank to withhold funds from their accounts at the discretion of the bank or the tax department.
  2. Anyone else uneasy about the clauses in Part 4 (last page)? Given my past issues with the tax department and Thai banks, I’m far from comfortable authorizing my bank to withhold funds from my account at their discretion (Part 4, #2). Similarly uneasy about #1 & #3. Overall, happy to fill out the rest of the form, just not these final authorizations...
  3. Hi everyone! I'm dealing with an issue on my durian treesβ€”Durian Psyllids seem to have taken up residence, and I’m looking for advice on how to get rid of them effectively. Has anyone had success with specific methods or treatments that can be purchased straight of Lazada? (Currently a little lost in all the available products online, and not sure how badly they will affect also the good fauna.) I'm open to organic options, but I'd also love to hear about any other approaches that work well. Attaching a photo for reference. Thanks in advance for any tips!
  4. Hi Don, thanks so much for the insight and advice! It’s good to know this growth might actually be helping the soil, especially with building organic matter. I’ll keep an eye out for any changes, especially on the living parts, and will share an update with new pics if needed. Really appreciate the helpβ€”thanks again!
  5. Hi everyone, After weeks of consistent rain and heavy humidity, I’ve noticed mold started growing around the base of my trees, mainly oil palm and cashew nut. It’s spreading on both bare clay soil and thick grass patches. Any idea what kind of mold this is? Is it harmful, and should I take action? Appreciate any insights!
  6. That’s awesome. I’ll definitely do that. Thanks for the helpful infoβ€”really appreciated!
  7. Could use some advice on this since I'm not too keen on electricity after a childhood mishap involving curious fingers and an active socket πŸ™‚ We’ve been offered a nearby property below market price, and are currently in the due diligence process. The parcel is landlocked, so we’re likely purchasing the access road as well and getting electricity pulled from the public road, with the line installed on concrete posts (we'd put these in ourselves) around 3 meters high. Does anyone know how far we can pull a new line from an existing PEA line/pole before needing any expensive extra equipment? (transformers etc?) Or the costs to have a line + the required amount of poles installed by PEA? We're planning to build a modest 2b2b farmhouse, and the distance to cover is roughly 400 meters. Our neighbor has done something similar, (line on bamboo poles) with their house about 200 meters from the main road and PEA poles. Appreciate any firsthand experience or tips!
  8. Hola! Sounds like the hot season really took a toll on durian trees this past year. They definitely don’t like it when the dry season lasts longer than three months since they thrive in humid conditions. Because durian trees can be quite picky, regular watering and fertilizing seem super important to get a good yield, especially if you're in a drier region. What species of durian do you have planted? Are you thinking of trying any specific methods to prevent so much fruit from dropping during next year's flowering season?
  9. Hola, not too many oil palmies on here πŸ™‚ With 50 trees, you might not be able to produce your own oil, as that typically requires a mill. Most likely, you'll be selling your fresh fruit bunches (FFB) instead. Based on current prices (around 6.5 THB/kg) and the volume your trees will yield, you should make some income, though it might not be a huge amount. It's also good to keep in mind a few costs like fertilizer, hiring help for weeding (maybe once a month), transportation expenses etc. As some of these expenses will start soon after planting and your trees will only start to yield after 3 to 5 years, it's worth planning for them. Hope this helps, and good luck with your palm oil venture. 🌴πŸ’ͺ
  10. Hola! Unfortunately not able to identify the vine you're looking to ID but was hoping if you don't mind I turn this into a broader 'identify my vine' thread? πŸ™‚ Also looking to identify the following vine. (Acrisol soil, Krabi)
  11. That's awesome, you rock mate. Thanks a bunch for the quality info! Feel free to send me your prompt pay via DM so I can send you a coffee/drink of your choice πŸ™‚
  12. That's very useful info, thanks, appreciated! Do you remember how long the process approximately took?
  13. How easy/difficult/expensive is it to split up a chanote (lets say 40 rai) into (4) smaller plots (of 10 rai each)? Any peeps with first-hand experience?
  14. Super, thanks for taking the time to explain, appreciate it. All makes sense now. Learned something new today! DM'ed you regarding that coffee πŸ˜‰
  15. I can already hear some of you thinking, "Just walk away." But I have a soft spot for risk and rewards πŸ˜„ Lately, I've been eyeing vehicles online that are listed at half or even a third of their market value. The catch? The seller only has a copy of the blue book, promising that the vehicle can be re-registered despite its history with pawnshops and failed loans/mortgages. Now, I'm well aware that this could easily turn out to be a classic scam (send a deposit, then poof! Seller vanishes), or worse (stolen car anyone?). However, my love for cars and deals has me curious. Has anyone here ever successfully bought a vehicle through an auction or from a pawn shop without a blue book and managed to get it re-registered? Or do you know someone who has? Any firsthand experiences to share, (before I bother my lawyer)? If so, I'd love to treat you to coffee and pick your brain. 😊
