  1. "That is the whole intent of the exercise....to find the most credible process of deliberating what changes need to occur in the face of these problems."

Do you honestly believe that this is the 'whole' intent of charter change from a PTP perspective?? I mean you sound knowledgeable, so I just ask. We all know 99.9% of politicians in this country simply want power and control. PTP are run through a proxy from Dubai. I find it hard to believe someone with your apparent knowledge would believe this amendment process is being carried out correctly, with political transparency and without a hidden agenda.

  2. Nisa, I dont really understand your post. If a young girl goes to dinner with a man. She is then offered a lift home but is instead beaten and raped; exactly where is the confusion??? TBH is their anyone on here who has lived here for a number of years and hasnt heard of something very similar happening before? The only difference here is the Father has very cleverly utilised online media to get this story out, I hope the message continues to spread, along with the story about the British couple who were attacked and stabbed in the resort. Anyone who has ever been to Ao Nang knows the Police are non existent!!

  3. As long as they don't use Microsoft lazy American English, responsible globally for the dumbing down of the correct English language spelling.

Haha...well, you're of the UK persuasion, I presume? You are so WRONG. American English is a vast improvement over what you chaps speak.

Remember...just because it's OLDER, doesn't make it BETTER. Doctors used to apply leeches to patients...now they've moved on. The English language has evolved. DEAL with it.

(BTW I'm a teacher and in my school the teachers from the U.S. have to teach English in the U.K. form.)

Typical American you take our Language (It is called English, after England) and dumb it down to make it easier for your fellow Americans. Then you claim this is evolution! You couldn't deal with a 'U' in your harbour, a bit to complicated so you dropped it; evolution at work! Personally I think the reason I see so many Americans strolling around Bangkok with 6ft tall wide shouldered...ahem.... ladies, is due to the fact that a fanny in UK English, is not in the same location as it is in the states! w00t.gif

Say what you want, but you Brits smoke way more fags than we Americans ever will! tongue.png

  4. My father in law in the lower north east is begging for rain for his rice fields----wai.gif

Well then, instead of building some monster tunnel to direct the waters from the north to the sea, how about redirecting those same waters to where they can be more efficiently utilized at times like these. Could make your father-in-law as well as so many other folk happy and even maybe a bit more prosperous. Just a thought.

Unfortunately you are applying logic, it is in very short supply within the government. Plus if they re-direct water would it be possible for an official to make some money on the side? This could possibly be the first question asked, before they get to is it beneficial thumbsup.gif

  5. Is it just me wondering why they have waited a year to run all these tests and announce the flood prevention measures, and what they are going to build? October last year was the start of the big flood and that is less than a month away!! bah.gif I know lets form a few committees and sub-committees and spend a small fortune discussing what measure can we exploit to make us look good whilst earning our close friends the maximum amount of money.......... More and more of a joke!

  6. I cant speak for most western police forces as i only know what i read or am told. However Racial profiling doesn't exist in UK police forces. They would love to use it, and some people think it would be effective. However it has been deemed Racist and is illegal. In fact British law has gone so far the other way towards liberalism that it is hugely ineffective. Combine this with a lot of illegal immigrants and criminals on trial exploiting the ECHR and you have a frustrated citizenship. A large, yet more and more ineffectual police force; and those who should be subject to the law having a pretty good time of it!!

  7. Maybe i didnt- about par is pushing it a bit. RTP are under payed and under trained. When they join it is to an established *alleged* corrupt organisation, where you join in or get out 'according to popular belief'. Therefore they are definitely not on par with the agencies of the west. I agree'd with the other poster in respect to his lethal force issue, and to say not all RTP are bad or corrupt. In fact I have met some really good people who are RTP. Also that Western agencies have a lot of issues themselves. This is being shown more and more on Western TV and on you tube. Point taken though. Next time I'll read a complete post thumbsup.gif

  8. I have some knowledge on the IPCC as well. They are hated by the British police and the police federation. So rubber stamping police actions maybe a bit far fetched. However the IPCC are a political entity and it is rarely convenient for a government to have its police force shown as doing wrong or being corrupt. I think any pressure on or within the IPCC comes from on high and is not due to a cosy relationship with the British police!!

  9. Cheap and really good food in Jools bar soi 4 if you fancy the walk. Also Mulligans Irish bar across the road in soi 11 is doing some good food as well!

  10. blink.png Richard, abuse of scousers will not be tolerated LOL

Actually your half right. I have a shaved head (baldness) and I have Tattoo's (legacy from the army). I accept they make me look a certain way. I accept being stopped although it doesnt make me a happy camper! I just dont accept intimidation, rudeness, bullying or policing a tiny proportion of a population and leaving everyone else! Anyway it's friday tomorrow so off for a pint and my usual stop and search on sukkers!! beatdeadhorse.gif

  11. " if the taser electrodes are placed around the heart area there's a good chance of killing somebody."

I have added a link, am not sure this is allowed but if MODS are on and this is a violation then please remove for me and accept my apologies-

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2012-05-02/taser-study-deaths/54688110/1

I dont think there is definitive evidence that conclusively proves Tasers can kill. However it stands to reason if you have a heart condition and you are tasered things are not going to go well for you. There is also the problem of the barbs on the taser these cause injury and have to be removed in a Hospital. I wonder how many prisoners are actually taken to hospital for removal? Im on the fence a little bit with this issue. I dont have a weak heart and would rather be faced with a taser than a glock!!

  12. Recently had the same issue. I photocopied my passport, and had my English driving licence. Just to be safe I emailed air asia to check and they sent a reply saying these forms of I.D. would be fine. I printed out the reply and took that with me just to cover my bases. However I didnt need it as the driving licence and photocopy were enough!
