I just hope they stiff the Thai exporters with import duty (or rename it 'special tax') as Thailand have done with Beer Laos which is also part of the FTA and is not supposed to have any import tax imposed on it, coming into Thailand.
Too right just imagine how cheap Viet and Cambodian beers would be also .. would wipe out the producers of the so called Thai beers

Knowing the area as a former Tourist Police Volunteer based at Chiang Rai, I "bet" they were leaving the vast Kings Roman Casino, hotel and entertainment complex in Laos (Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone) possibly to seek illegal employment in the very lucrative illegal on-line gambling in Thailand, despite being many recent well publicized "busts" by Thai Law Enforcement agencies.
Yes most of these dodgy Chinese border hoppers are involved in the casino or online gambling operations, the Burmese authorities rounded up 200 of them a couple of years back in Tachileik

The Third Army has sent a memo to the governors of 17 provinces across the north,
They 'd better sent a few bataillons to the mountains (with strict order to arrest every perp)
A couple of years ago in Chiang Rai I witnessed the fire setting a couple hundred meters from a Army/Police checkpoint and nothing was done about it ..

The culprits are most likely to be found in the local karaoke splashing the cash ..

, similar to seasonal flu shots, one of which is ~ 1,800-ish I think.
800 - 1200 have been normal prices for one shot of flu vaccine. Then 800 + for dr fee
Are the flu vaccines 'brewed' locally or imported?

I read when Chang was 'reformulated' a few years back that it was being brewed with rice to cut costs ie higher profits saving on imported grains, that is why it tastes utter s#!te now

There are some 'fairy light' small places on the road coming into Fang from Mae Ai also if you turn down the off the main road at the 7-11 opposite the Pa Bong market there is Chill cafe and Krua Luang bar big place with a massage joint further along
As for the previous answer 'fin' with tobacco ...I don't think so.. gave me a good laugh though

I would imagine there have been a few people entering through various borders since they were closed
Yes the Burma border with Thailand alone is 2416 km, Thais, Hill tribes, Burmese go back and forth to see family and farm or trade, these girls would have just had to wade back across the river as the 1G1 hotel complex is right next to it and Mai Sai

That Bangkok Bank branch has been devoid of customers each time I have been in Panthip recently
