You actually go to church? Wow! And if you have a TV then you have Thai TV.

I have a TV, in 17 years I have never hooked up television service or an aerial or a dish. Thai TV is like fingernails on the chalkboard.

Maybe the next time that you go out and wont watch a sports event live and that you want to watch later, you could start a thread on Thaivisa asking people not to post the result on TV until you have watched a recorded event ?

    Yes, I will.

The fight started about 1 PM , what time did your Church close and you could have left the Church at 12 midday to get home in time (not that I believe that you even went to Church BTW)?

You can still watch the fight. even if you know who wins

It was literally the first item on new content when I sat down after getting home.

Anyhow, this thread made up for it, I feel better now.

While the wave of the future - they still have a ways to go.

The range of 62 miles - 100 km - I would hazard is on a flat straight hiway.

What range will you get powering up hills and thru mud ?

I think 45 minutes of scrambling could be quite enjoyable, Maybe they could make a version with swappable batteries so you can get two runs in.

The fight was live and free on Thai television , was you attending Church this afternoon when the fight was shown ?

It was church, and the fact that I don't have Thai TV. I only learned of the fight this morning from a headline and made a note to watch, and got home from church and boom. It became a big nothing.

You opened TV forums and one of the threads had the result of a sporting match that you have no interest in and you complained in that thread of yourself now knowing the result of that match and it ruined your  viewing of the event................when you had no interest of watching that sporting event in the first place .

Get someone else to pick your lottery numbers, You are clearly having an off day with the prophetic.

So, what was you doing whilst the fight was in progress ?

The fight was live on the internet and its now on Youtube and its headline news on all the news media outlets .

I think that you didnt really have an interest in the fight and just wanted a moan about knowing the result

What you think is hardly interesting or valuable in this context.

  8. There is much more to perception than the 5 senses. The Greek word nous which is read as mind when translated into English from the Greek, has a much broader meaning than just the five senses. The five sense are actually quite base and rudimentary and a very poor representation of what we actually perceive.

    Nous

    1. the mind, comprising alike the faculties of perceiving and understanding and those of feeling, judging, determining
      1. the intellectual faculty, the understanding
      2. reason in the narrower sense, as the capacity for spiritual truth, the higher powers of the soul, the faculty of perceiving divine things, of recognizing goodness and of hating evil
      3. the power of considering and judging soberly, calmly and impartially
    2. a particular mode of thinking and judging, i.e thoughts, feelings, purposes, desires

Had you been interested in the fight, you would had watched it live as it began about midday and has only just finished  .

It might have occurred to you that life doesn't fit programming schedules. Also, I don't have a live source, I generally download a torrent to watch these types of events.

Yes, the Whole world should have kept silent and there should have been a media blackout until you had watched it

There are other ways of creating a sports thread than just announcing the critical detail that eliminates the need to watch the fight. If I would have seen a thread about the result (but not giving away the result) I would have a choice to not look until I saw the fight.

    Now I just don't care.

Thanks for sharing the insight and info and humour as a fellow Canadian I appreciate it. And good luck with you tea crop. Green? I drink a lot of tea and always looking for something different from store bought  or over prices tourist tea shops. Let me know I would be interested.

Still learning, but I made some lovely black tea last year, and I make some reasonable oolong when I get the conditions right. Most of our trees are very young so we aren't producing big quantities yet. But remind me in August and I'll send you something.

Interestingly the one salient characteristic on which all Biblical scholars agree about Jesus' parables is that they don't need "interpretation", they're like being hit over the head by a large block of wood, the meaning of the parable is so evident. Therefore if you need to interpret the statement "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces" it cannot be a parable, whatever other characteristics it may exhibit

What?? The parables are endlessly discussed and argued over. Also, why would this discussion have taken place if they are obvious?

    Matthew 13:10

    The Purpose of the Parables
Then the disciples came and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” And he answered them, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:
“‘“You will indeed hear but never understand,
and you will indeed see but never perceive.”
For this people's heart has grown dull,
and with their ears they can barely hear,
and their eyes they have closed,
lest they should see with their eyes
    and hear with their ears
    and understand with their heart
and turn, and I would heal them.’
But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

See .......... this is the kind of response that wins hearts and minds.

Canuck clearly knew that my comment was tongue in check and he acted on it for what it was. Many others should take a leaf out of his book.

I actually read his post from start to finish and it did interest me. I did nod off again, but it was still informative. ????

I am excited to learn that I have won your heart.

Approximately what area did they issue the "use or loose" the land advice ?
Being  west of Chiang Rai town "in the hills", no paper land, hardly any burning visible and very little smoke in last week or so . . .
Generally the air has been OK except for 2 days.

Up in the Doi Chang Wawee area. The use or lose thing has been the deal for a very long time though. More than the ten years I have been here. I think it is the deal for all the paperless land holders.

Rumor is that papers are coming though.
