Either the pump needs to be turned off if the water in the tank is very low, or the check valve, which should prevent the pump back feeding the utility inlet/ storage tank is not closing. I actually put 2 check valves in series, plus a few hand valves so that I can prevent the latter.

A 'farang' would be a more specific term for foreigners from Western countries....Europeans, Americans Oz, etc etc ie caucasian, probably more defined by appearance. 'Foreign', all them who are not Thai. In the case here, we might be avoiding being specific, to say Chinese (who are not falang)......
