  1. Yes, it was being talked of when I first came here....over 15 years ago. Has it improved at all?
  2. So now we say a Pit Bull is a Lambo while a Lab (used to guide blind people for many years) is a Ford Escort..... such silliness No, if there is the slightly higher likelihood of it mauling children, it won't happen. Just like I won't be buying a lambo, which couldn't get over the bumps in my road.
  3. My Mrs says pretty much all vegetables are more, particularly ones i like as in broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower.... and keeps buying stuff that looks like it was dredged!
  4. For such I believe a Labrador is much better or a collie.... so why get a Pit Bull? I suggest people get them for much different reasons.
  5. Or you get bumped into them!
  6. And how much have the victim's family in relation to the nightclub fire in the Mountain B nightspot in Sattahip been given... we seem to have stopped counting the victims of that one.
  7. Why specifically DUI..... other driving offences, being high on drugs, running red lights, speeding, parking In front of my gate. All should get jail!
  8. My Mrs has put it in to keep an eye on her mother although it is over the internet.
  9. Is 'kites' perhaps a mis-translation here?
  10. I feel differently... the ones outside the bar areas and cities etc are generally polite and yes, humble may be true.... I have found sadly that the ones hanging around the lights of say Pattaya are less appealing, with attitude and impolite behaviour... males usually, security, WIN drivers, hawkers. But be polite with them and things go okay.
  11. On the rare occasion there is a pavement, it has frequently been commandeered by some food stall and become a seating area for their business... so pedestrians get forced into traffic. I noticed this wheelchair lane had been painted as I drive down there often. It functions to allow disabled people to get to and from the rear of The Father Ray Foundation and go to Big-CX. Sad to see people park on it but TIT! I was heading away from BIG-CX and had to dodge a disabled person on the other side who popped out without looking.... they might be in need of some training on road sense.
  12. Never saw anything close to a fact.... could not have been further off the mark!
  13. One place I was in went native.... Thai music, volume up several notches, staff partying among themselves, couldn't get served and pretty much ignored... not quite the dream you might expect.
  14. Why stop there? Kill off a few more industries deemed burdens that generate billions!
  15. They may well be in need of some different news presentation after a diet of domestic stuff. Then they can make up their own minds, quite a luxury. What is going on today, referenda to make the land grab 'official' and potentially justify stronger reaction to Ukrainian attempts to reclaim their own territory exhibits some diet of lies and desperation.
  16. Not always my personal experience..... it carries risks!
  17. Silliest post of the week, and probably the year.
  18. Can't believe the black box over the eyes to protect the dog's identity!
  19. And will an extension on the 45 day Permission be available for tourists, and how long/ how many would that be?
  20. Personally I have decided 3 is enough... and the current strain is not to be feared like the earlier ones. That said, Western Countries are giving out 2nd boosters, but perhaps they have access to newer vaccines that work well for the Omicron variant. That is another reason I am not seeking a 2nd myself here... I would prefer a modern omicron effective one.
  21. You would have to ask a truck driver but taking a bend too fast or hard steering to one side at speed perhaps.
  22. What point are you trying to make?.... Yes 3.4 million baht is a large sum of money in Thailand! What has USD got to do with a robbery of baht in Thailand? Not all of us think in USD!
  23. A few pals got stuck in the new Bua-khao nightclub some days back, and that place was becoming a paddling pool. I have been stuck in GGBs myself by the weather.... Quite a lot of tourists still come here, even in rainy season, Australians as an example. This year, the rain we have had in Pattaya has been heavy, Bangkok worse I believe. It does seem to drain better these days..... been a long time since I was trapped on higher ground waiting to head home.
