  1. What is traffic security? Did something happen last year? Were a lot of vehicles stolen or broken into? Parking is still allowed on the seaward side of Beach Rd isn't it?
  2. Not sure if it is on there, but Le Pub, soi Diamond has a big screen... then off to Windmill afterwards!
  3. A shame, not much support for a disgruntled foreigner here.
  4. For many years I simply popped into the UK/Thai Consulate in Hull. en-route to visit a friend in the NE of UK. A trivial form to fill in and pay the cash, sorted for another 12 months in Thailand. They do seem to have complicated things over the years with so many options, many with onerous requirements. Fortunately a retirement extension in Thailand is easy for the over 50s.
  5. My thoughts too..... and if not a normal tourist, a fee for a Visa and a bit of extra vetting is not a big deal. Wasn't the tourist Visa offered for free during Covid for a while?.... I don't recall it made a big difference.
  6. Well I did not say they do a very good job.... far too many with criminal records, or being pursued in their own country, make i here and live for many years.
  7. It is not about me....it is about you putting forward false numbers. So many seem to overestimate their own worth to Thailand.
  8. Because it isn't.......12% might be more accurate..... not certain where it exactly is now post Covid, but I suspect a little lower. Don't have to be an apologist to get ones numbers right.
  9. Visas obtained at Embassies are a better measure.... Visa on arrival is only available to a limited number of countries and territories https://extranet.immigration.go.th/voaonline/voaonline/VoaonlineAction.do and I believe one has to apply in advance online.
  10. Oh good, I will have a drive up and down them for free and for pleasure...... well actually since both Sukhumvit and the Railway Line Bypass Roads are being dug up, it is likely my only option!
  11. Being 'dressed respectfully' means wearing a mask where required ...... a consideration for others. So just try it!
  12. So make it a burden of the taxpayer?
  13. http://www.handsoffcain.info/bancadati/asia-middle-east-australia-and-oceania/thailand-17000464
  14. I do not see how a voluntary item like a Visa can be declared as theft...... Visas are an important security requirement.
  15. You are mixing up Visas, obtained outside of Thailand, and Extensions, made domestically at Immigration offices. They want to make it easier for tourists...... and the topic is Visas. I don't see what the issue is to waive the Tourist Visa charge, which gives people the opportunity to visit for 60days....
  16. Many already get 30 days free on arrival..... If people choose to obtain Visas to get a longer stay, I don't think a reasonable charge is a problem. It may subsidize the Embassy and help them provide other services. Anyhow, this is dumb, talk about free visas and on the other hand charging an arrival fee at the airport....a nonsense!
  17. If you want to sell you have to hope the buyer will buy the company off you..... then easy days. If not, it gets a bit messier. There are the accounts to do each year too. You have 2 Thai shareholders you have to find. Leasing must involve an 'owner'.....
  18. There is such a thing as an oxymoron.
  19. At least she had the strength to deal with her. I have seen a lot of businesses being damaged by employed relatives who act like entitled dictators.
  20. Heaven knows, I heard there was some legal dispute in relation to completing the Klang pavements. Not sure if the contractor was one of the many companies surreptitiously owned by the family at the top! It appears they have no leverage over them to get the job done.... it is bloody pathetic!
  21. Yes, depends which building you get. There are 3 all originating from different decades!
