  1. Well I think it is in reality.... If he had parked up where he should not have done, like in a lane of the motorway......( half a km from a lay bye. Reflectors, parking lights, best still hazard warning lights all could have prevented the accident..... able to be seen from some distance. Headlights only illuminate so far........ I see the back of trucks often, sometimes no working lights, filth covered reflectors, and nothing to stop a vehicle going under the much higher truck.. Many a truck is parked up where it is dangerous.
  2. You can't move a Visa, perhaps you mean your Extension? I did that for free some years back in Jomtien, although more recently I got lazy (long queues at immigration), and paid 2000 for an agent to do it.
  3. That would be the GGB and Beer Bars, nightclubs usually went on later......
  4. I find they often drive that way too!
  5. Get over it......topic is about police drugs tests.
  6. What, you have never been in a place when it has been raided? Part of the City experience. They don't usually bother foreign tourists too much.... finish your beer and you are let go. (Pay your tab, they always manage to collect the money). Don't give them any of that American sass! I think recent issues are more to do with the locals.....
  7. This is an outfit that struggles to perform a surprise 'raid' without the information getting out a good while before they arrive.
  8. Probably thought you were simply showing a pic of one of your kids..... At my age I just am happy I still got some hair, so I simply ask for a short cut and that is what I get. It is rather too short, makes me look bald, and the wife keeps saluting me around the house, but after it grows in for week it is how I like it.
  9. Wasn't there a complaint a while ago that they weren't even doing a good job sweeping their station?
  10. 3am is the new 11pm...... You know nothing.... taking 'compensation' for some act of affront is standard here...it is a lot of what the police do. Walking street is often busy at 3am, it is just after chucking out time for some venues, while others are welcoming them in! Presuming any lady walking about at that time is looking to get molested is simply nonsense.
  11. Yep... I think we were doing something similar pre Covid!
  12. Yep... that is how I found the larger one near me, near the Animal hospital on Sukhumvit.
  13. Bloody car coming at me going the wrong way on the Railway Line Bypass yesterday!
  14. Not a single bikini to be seen is more of a disappointment.
  15. He is sat there in the midst of plenty police and they don't seem to have an issue as to whether he has a work permit....I am sure the group (there are quite a few of them) have legality. It isn't a full time job.
  16. Might depend on the numbers in town. Germany and Austria have consular services available. There are quite a few USA guys living here. Of similar needs to those in Bangkok.
  17. Didn't we just have the end of Buddhist Lent which is a no alcohol day.
  18. Strangely enough I was in the North Rd Tesco Mall shopping and decided to walk over to T21 and took a side entrance out of the car park and tried to cut through a quiet street. There was a pack of dogs looking rather intimidating in my way. Never know where you might have an issue.
  19. They are called FPV, Foreign Police Volunteers as opposed to the ones who help the Tourist Police (TPA?). Yes translation is a big part of it....
  20. I always though he was filthy rich before he came to power. Even born into a rich family. By the time Thaksin was born, the Shinawatra family was one of the richest and most influential families in Chiang Mai. (Wiki)
  21. Isn't he too young to be charged with anything?
  22. During Covid isolation I let the TGF have at it with the Wahl clippers.....not a great job, might as well take it down to the wood....so I stopped shaving and got that upside down head look.
  23. Haha, the state I have been in they could have taken the furniture! I actually feel better about room safes than locking money etc in a case. I will admit that up in Nakhon Nowhere, I have put money in a shoulder bag, padlocked, that into a locked case, then used one of those computer security cables to tie that down to some heavy furniture.
