Thai condo market dominated by Chinese and Russian investors
bristolgeoff replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
From what i understand the chinese have many rules about money and a few other things, all controlled. So thailand and neighbour countries offer more freedom. So real estate is a good way for them to spend their money elsewhere.Russia is similar maybe and lots of money they have to get rid of,so real estate is a good example. All away from the hands of their country -
AWC set to scoop jackpot from Thailand’s casino legalisation
bristolgeoff replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Casinos should have being legal yrs ago, save certain thais from going to the border and gambling. They neighbours love to gamble as we know, but the big resort will attract the chinese and certain tourist, also thais will always use the illegal ones too.No doubt some big thai companies will have plans.Look at cambodia and the sth and see what it is like now with the casino town all chinese tourist. If you like this then all good. Most people agree in thailand that casinos should exist and if you want to enter your choice so let it happen -
Thaksin Shinawatra’s ‘secret’ health scandal
bristolgeoff replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
He lived in dubai in luxury with everything he needed include the best medical attention if needed. He comes back on a deal we all know this and his health is below par.A photo on the plane shows he is well.Everybody knows the end result and how much the brown evenlopes carried,Thais must see this at what the rich can do to get away with it .If they think it is right I don,t know. But I think many are not happy with how this went down- 51 replies

bristolgeoff replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News

I wonder what apartments in pattaya are available to buy and how many. The cowboy builders too and they good work. The one thing that is world class is the sex and bars, ladyboys plus gold necklaces. But it does not exist in thailand and china, but it is ok in the special economic zones that china control in other countries.

Look at other parts of the world, amercia in many states. It works and they get tax for everything too.It works here with shops open rent tax etc I have seen no real problems here and if u want to smoke or buy it u can. From thais that grow it sell it and anything else include the gov it works. They should look at the gambling laws allow casino in thailand, instead of thais going to the borders to gamble. They are looking to change the advertising and drink rules instead of the 7/11 rules close between 3 and 5 then later.A few rule changes will bring thailand into the modern world just a bit more

Cabinet green lights bills to modify alcohol control law
bristolgeoff replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Should have changed ages ago.7/11 locking the beer section for 3 hrs every day, when u can go to any bar for a drink of beer nearby.Does not make sense and the chiangmai sixes on tomorrow and people will sell beer or drink it between the hrs 7/11 lock the beer door.Opening hrs are better people who smoke weed happy and no real problems.advertising is another silly rule and everyone has a fav beer and whether u drink out of a certain glass at the bar no one cares except for the drink inside. It is changing slowly and the gambling or casino law should change too as the thais love to gamble but have to travel to the borders to do it and they do it often.Keep it in the country and the money stays too.I think all those silly rules are being updated but very slow -
Aussie arrested in Koh Pha Ngan after joyride on stolen motorcycle
bristolgeoff replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
If the bike is worth 300k I,am guessing up to 500 cc honda or yamaha.or other japanese brand.Don,t know about the shoes to catch him out.But I agree a big bike is not needed on a island too. They found him anyway and he is in the hands of the police and what a silly thing to do in the first place. His name does not sound australian but he maybe one. Also you can change the wheel colour and number plate but the frame no is different matter as they take a copy of every frame every year u pay the road fee -
