bristolgeoff replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
What did he expect from the court and system in thailand.Dual pricing has existed for decades and this will continue.if you can trust your other half in transactions ler her do it you don,t show up,hospital is something else of course. Before the thai driving license worked for national parks and zoos, now it does not. They was a attraction in cnx festival mall before i checked the price dual price as well.T hey did not hide it either.Did not book it of course, but it was a private owned attractions too.Not right dual pricing, the farang will never change it -

bristolgeoff replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They have budda days and advertise bans about beer in thailand.but on those days in the village when elections are on ,the small roadside bars are open mum and pop shops don,t worry about it either.beer and local is sold.In the bigger towns police make sure no bar or restaurant sells alcohol. They is a 2 tier system for sure that exist in parts of thailand -

They is a reason why thais can only own land, look at land or house prices else where.put the locals out the market and rich don,t have a issue of course. If you marry then u have more rights about land when u buy,but not own it outright.I think that protecting the thais in some issues in their country is right, others issues not so

Cost of imported wine and spirits set to be slashed in Thailand
bristolgeoff replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The tax on wine has always being high, wine sold across the borders in burma for passport control in the days gone by were half the price in the duty free shops.Thais always asked friends of theirs buy some wine duty free.Like any country the tax is high on brooze and wine is up there, imported brooze is a premium anywhere, -
You can own a condo, but not on the first 2 floors,That is deemed owning the land.Land must be a thai but u can be on a lease for 30 yrs so u can stay there. The thai can not sell until the lease is over.Lawyers can have it all tied up no problem for anybody. That is all i know from my experience. I don,t think the government want to change rules of land ownership in a hurry that will let the farang have a advantage
