  1. Check the news from the rest of the country. Blockages in Chiang Mai, Ubon, Khon Kaen. If you cannot control the country please step down from government

Typical red shirt apologist- too lazy to post a link or too dumb to know how... :)

I cannot post a link to a thai cable tv station. PLease dont insult people of a different view to your own. I am no apologist, I just see a country in transititon. If you want to debate facts, not those facts from thai tv, I will be online for a while. If anything you are trying to apologise for highly armed troops shooting people. Maybe another ex military man

    LMAO

Reds create such violence and chaos to force the gov't to respond strongly and then say gov't must step down for their actions to maintain the law.

LOL, this 3rd grade approach has become very transparent to anyone with any common sense.

I cannot insult your intelligence but only a fool believes this will be over today. Read about Michael Collins he beat the most powerful army in the world and started with sticks and stones

What the heck are you responding to? Are you picking an argument with yourself?

I am trying to educate you. Do you know who Michael Collins is?. I will give you a few minutes to google it

  4. Seat on Human Rights Council a saving grace for Thailand

    By Kavi Chongkittavorn

BANGKOK: -- Thailand's election to the UN Human Rights Council last week saved the country from sinking deeper into the abyss. The hard-won seat, which came at the height of street tensions and battles, showed that the country still enjoyed a good reservoir of support among the international community. Scoring the second highest votes of 182 after Maldives at 185, they did better than the other 12 countries, including Spain, Switzerland and Poland

Sorry! What is the point here. There were 4 seats for asia and only 4 nominations. So, Thailand and the other 3 countries that nominated originally 5 but Iran withdrew were elected. Well Done.

    Point accepted..thank you

  5. Remember Takkys mob saying they will fine shops 200,000 baht for displaying cigs. Cp has 5000+ 7 elevens lots of 0s that. I could never understand a Takky thing about closing supermarkets early to save fuel...maybe CP has a few supermarkets..Lotus Tesco . Takky was nibbling with sharks

CP's business in Thailand is diddly squat in their total.

They are the only true Thai multinational. Their investments in China are up there with any major multinational investing there. They are an Asian giant.

As the very first overseas company that invested in the Chinese mainland after the implementation of its open-up policy in 1978, CP witnessed every steps in China's development in the past 30 years from 1979 to 2009, and at the same time the company itself grew ever bigger.

Being the businessman who has an investment of nearly six billion U.S. dollars and 213 firms in China, Dhanin said he believes China's market still has enormous potentials, with even more opportunities than 30 years ago.

    http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/90001/90...83/6882533.html

I didn't know they were the first, but I knew they were big. Imagine that, of all the companies that have invested in China, they were the first. Astonishing and a great company. 213 firms. Astonishing.

Not exactly chicken feed but a lot more than Takky

If you quote the rest of this article it will say they only got this seat bcos of the backing of the USA. Then the USA needs to appease Thailand to carrying on with its cloak and dagger activities. This discussion started to get to the real issues, keep up with current posts..please

  7. There is nothing else the government can do at this time. The reds have painted the government into a corner.

Look at the last 4 days. The government moves to contain the Rachprasong rally. Contain ---- not crackdown! The troops move in to the areas around the reds and the reds attack. They continue to come OUT of Rachprasong and attack. The troops have not moved into the rachprasong area. The troops are working on containing them and that is all.

Personally, I assume that the government thought that this would happen. The roudier, violent, and less well trained reds are coming out and attacking and this so far has kept the 'relatively' innocent grannies, women, and totally innocent children safer inside the main rally encampment while the troops deal with the more violent reds.

I am stymied at how they plan to really proceed though. I don't see how they can move in from here. I also think that Sae Daeng's ronin will open fire on the hostages inside the red compound if the government moves in, in a bid to discredit the government.

I hope they have a plan that can give some safety to the grannies and children.

Has it occured to anyone in TV that the good General Seh Dang has trained well, the RD leaders, who have spread the training down the ranks. Look at the big picture people. They seem insane to us on the internet, but they have been very organized, very tactical, very self controlled, and the women, elderly, children have been kept in the center, or close to pathways to get to center of the compound when needed. Very strategic on their part, and very systematic in their activity day by day. Its the govt and military that are fully aware that the Reds have been trained by the best, and its the govt and military that acts more like the amateurs. Thats why he was taken out of the equation by a sniper. The probable thought being, if the general is dead, panic will sweep thru the RD camp and they will either scatter, or be confused and easily swayed or conquered. It appears that the general has instilled not only tactical training, but also fed their intestinal fortitude as well. Oh, and for the love of God, drop the infamy building of Tacksin. This grew far beyond one man oh so long ago. Live or dead, Tacksin is not the center of the Red universe. Democracy is. Some of you are right, Thai don't know what Democracy really is, but they have learned enough from the outside to know they want it, and when it comes to learning what all is involved with Democracy, the Reds and students are learning at an exponential rate. For you average iq and education farang, that means Thai are like dry squeezed sponges released in water. They are absorbing their fill, and Thailand will never be the same after this is finally settled.

What a fascinating post. Is it really about liberty, justice, equality, all in the political, social and economic spheres. Maybe he's right! Who knows. Do people want this kind of change in a quaint country like Thailand, not if they are the elite! Wax on philosopically and with language that only those who speak of lofty ideals use. Maybe this needs to be heard a lot more.

I am glad this thread is now discussing the real issue... No more talk of M16 and M79 please you are just muddying the waters

  8. Was Sudarat on the list? She has been churning out the money, her BKK mafia and killers on a daily basis

If you are right, I would expect some Dems to start leaking all kind of stuff starting right now just to rile their supporters and Bangkokians. Any talks will favour Jatuporn etc and not the Dems and I would expect them to make it well known

How about including in the list that Abhisit's father served on the board of directors of one of the heaviest PAD-financing companies? By supporting the PAD with money for their demonstrations, he eventually paved the way for his son to become Prime Minister.

Interesting fact. Can you name the company? I was under the impression his father was a medical doctor (his mother, too).

Charoen Pokphand Foods, part of Charoen Pokphand Group. Does "CP" or "CP Group" ring a bell? It must ring a bell to anyone that lives in Thailand. Interestingly, a meeting with CP Group was one of the first things Abhisit did after becoming Prime Minister.

This guys definately sitting at the top table

  9. I like this game too :D

Siam Cement (the largest Thai industrial and petrochemical conglomerates),

Christiani & Nielsen (one of the largest construction firms),

Deves Insurance (one of the largest insurers),

Siam Commercial Bank (one of the largest banks),

    Honda Cars (Thailand),

    Y.K.K. Zipper (Thailand),

    Nanthawan (Obayashi),

    Thai Bridgestone,

    Minebea Electronics (Thailand),

    Bangkok Aviation Fuel Service,

    the Dusit Thani Hotel.

and Shin Corporation (a major telecommunications firm, through holdings in Siam Commercial Bank).

All the above are 100% connected, are we getting curious yet ? :)

    You're playing a dangerous game.

I know I know I know let me answer please... dont want jocking off this forum. Best I keep stum

  10. ok a few pointers but no names.

    1. why thai people dont know their recent history.... Their history is littered with unsavoury events. They dont like anybody asking questions so they dont teach thai history at school

    2. Who are the paymasters...look at any society and there are basic things we all need. Food, infrastructure, transport, yes even beer and many others.. do your own googling (hint look at Forbes you may find some answers there)

The question you should ask is who as most to loose in this if thaksin comes back and opens up the country to international businesses without current draconian rules (51% 49%)

Absolute rubbish. Thaksin never threatened nor ever suggested changing foreign ownership rules, it benefits him as much as every other rich billionnaire. The only thing he was intersted in was selling his company to foreigners after manipulating the markets and laws to give in unfair advantage and ii. cheat the country out of the tax by doing it through off-shore asset holdings companies.

A lot of people seem to forget how outraged the Thai public were when Thaksin sold AIS and dodged paying the tax to the country - a fact his once-best buddy and now arch-rival and also billionaire Sonthi Lim was never shy of pointing out. So weird he's gone so quiet in all of this - fear for his life? Or is there a twist at the end of this horrible tale yet to come?

Of course they all get rich from current legislation but tacky cannot allow these players to be in the game anymore.. So he needs to break up their monopoly, award fat Government contracts to outsiders(allowing for his envelope) Changing laws is one way to do it.

Tacky was nibbling away at the current elite incumbents when they order the coup on him. These elite have created a huge buffer between themselves and the poor. Privatising EGAT was on the cards. The Egat workers were seen cutting power at a police station during the yellow shirt sit in. Control the power control the country. Egat as always been under elite control. He was giving soft loans to Government workers and talking about individually assessing teacher performance(to break up their unity..ever man for himself). All these acts by Tackky where designed to remove this buffer between rich and poor. The poor never question teachers and government workers. Ever ask why some wear army like uniforms and some wear different colours everyday. If you know what i am saying you will know why the poor will not question them. Takky love him or hate him is very shrewd and was becoming a serious threat to the staus quo... get the army out he has gone to far this time

  11. The question you should ask is who as most to loose in this if thaksin comes back and opens up the country to international businesses without current draconian rules (51% 49%)

I can't answer that question but I can tell you who has the most to gain. Thaksin will be exacting tribute from any deal done anywhere in the Kingdom. Assuming it still is a Kingdom of course.

Agree 100% Tacky will get his wealth from Foreigners. What the current Amataya have they keep. But they will not get a baht more

  12. Abhisit did not give this order...his paymasters did. These families have been ordering the army to massacre many people over the last few decades including students. The problem these arrogant gits have is that they think they can keep doing it. Before there was no technology but now the firing of a gun is online b4 it reaches its target. Ask why grenades are being fired into reporters hotels and so many have been shot and killed. They need the press out of the way as in previous massacres so they can have their own Tiamen Square. These people are no better than those that ordered the slaughter of 2300 innocent students and members of the public in China 20 years ago. Ask yourself who ordered most of the coups over the last 60 years. These are descendants of the people who struck a deal with the Japanese during WW2 not to harm them or their financial interests in return for allowing the Japs to rape murder and do just about anything they wanted to the ordinary Thai people and allied POWs.

These are ruthless people who will do anything to keep hold of their ill gained wealth. They are the reason this country is poorly educated and underdeveloped. Abhisit and the army are just pawns in their game..dont blame them. Some of my history is slighty rusty so I stand corrected

    Proof please?

    Who are his paymasters?

Can you show proof these paymasters order the SD shot?

Give that man a gold star.

I shall wear it with pride. I like this game. Further hint. Why does Thailand have such a small selection of foreign beers. Who would have the clout to pass laws like that, to restrict foreign alcohol imports. Who would have most to loose

One more... Why are car imports so heavily and unrealistically taxed...to protect local jobs...naaaa. You import too many Toyotas and we dont need the factory here...it can go to Vietnam or Cambodia. I wonder who rents all the land to the foreign companies...ummmm. Why dont they build factories in depressed areas, like Isaan instead of making the Isaan people go to Rayong. Lot cheaper and the East West Economic Trade cooridor runs thru Isaan. Can have vehicles in Da Naang (port) in 9 hours. They drive Toyotas now, in large trailer loads, into Laos and China from Rayong.. I hope this is helping to unravel what the poor have known for decades

  14. what would you call a Prime Minister who orders his Army snipers to shoot an unarmed Red Shirt leader giving an interview to the free press? Is that what Buddha would do?

If you are talking about Seh Daeng, maybe. :)

since the bullet entered his skull, 300 people are hurt or dead. how many more are grieving. property damage is who knows how much.

and worst of all, thailand is approaching the point of no return.

i certainly hope that abhisit didnt give this order.

  15. How about for a change, have a look what facts CNN presents on this document. The Red Shirt leaders always say: how can the Thai Army shoot at people who are unarmed? This will once and for all open your eyes about the Red Shirts.

An ireport is far from a CNN presents. Its the same as youtube. Just thought you should know the differance.

Most of those pics were of a weapons cache taken from an army group and given back to the police. try again

  16. Not my beef this one but here goes. A long time friend told me on his way back from Korat to Khon Kaen 6 days ago he passed, going in the Bangkok direction, 400-500 vehicles carrying red shirts. At police road blocks police appeared to be stopping them, asking for driving license and saying on yer way. Tend to believe my friends estimation, he worked in army logistics b4 retirement...so he can count

    Huh :)

i thought their leaders had told them to stop wearing red shirts?

    so how would he know?

Maybe, as a army logistics god he has some other special ability other than being able to count?

take the shirts off when near Bangkok

  17. I see that the reds are unarmed as their leaders continually state.

    post-6428-1274059206_thumb.jpg

    post-6428-1274059224_thumb.jpg

I too wonder why CNN and BBC refuse to show this side as well.

These pistols are for shooting rats on the farm wont be accurate after 20 mtrs. I have been waiting 4 days for somebody to show me a link to reds with M16s.

Just because these pistols are not accurate, doesn't make them not lethal.

Did you miss the video of the black shirt with the M16 yesterday. Went around the corner, a few shots heard, runs back and the video catches the gun.

saw the video. what make of weapon was it. Not sure that was an M16. Did he fire the shots?. I dont deny they have some weapons but the government is portraying the reds to be armed to the teeth with military hardware. They cannot justify their actions to me

  18. I have heard that the highway between the Airport and Pattaya has now been blocked by Red Shirts using 300 trucks, there is also report that the port of Rayong has been taken over as well.

Other reports are of uprisings in the NE, with many 1,000's descending on Bangkok in large convoys of pickups. Plus reports that they are blocking more and more roads to Bangkok.

Can anyone corroborate any of these reports.

    This is getting really serious.

You're source please? Or is this just more hyperbol?

Never trust anyone spreading wild rumors who has only posted once. :)

Hence my second question, dad. :D:D:D:D

Not my beef this one but here goes. A long time friend told me on his way back from Korat to Khon Kaen 6 days ago he passed, going in the Bangkok direction, 400-500 vehicles carrying red shirts. 19. Latest development, Rama 4 Tesco Lotus is set fired by Red protesters that thought there is army hiding inside the building.

Naaa, they probably ran out of red bull

they also have been looting 7/11's and other shops, broken into banks ... it's party time for Thailand's criminals ... until tomorrow afternoon anyway and than its time to pay the piper

What about their own living quarters that is not far from Klong Toei slump area, that will be big disaster for the poor.

No proof to back this up except for some of the video shot today with odd behavior of red but this certainly may not be true ... I've heard a few rumors that the reds are paying some of the folks in the slum (mainly yaa baa addicts) to come out in the streets and basically raise havoc.

All your posts are unbelievable. Difference of views makes great debate regardless of your alleigance but you just post nonsense

  20. Latest Death Toll: '29' (All Civilians). Injured: '221' /via @tulsathit

shows who the main aggressors are, the army!!

facts to back up the statement!!

    Shows nothing of the sort.

    But keep trying.

IMO it shows incredible restraint on the army as they are facing armed (fact) people who have said they will fight until the death (fact).

Also shows how violent the illegal red mob is as the military hasn't even attempted to enter the red fortress and reclaim the billions of dollars in property the reds have stolen and are holding hostage.

Yesterday I asked you for a link about arms outside the barricades and as expected you did not supply me with a link. Now you are stating FACTS again. I am watching 6 international news channels, for nearly 3 days, and not one reporter has submitted a story with video footage of the reds firing M16s and M79's. To answer your other point, the army will not get close to the barricades because they no whats waiting for them. The weapons are inside the barricades. The only way into this encampment is tanks and personnel carriers.. but hey go ahead justify that, I am sure you can. Save your government propaganda for those silly enough that they are unable to think for themselves. My guess is you r ex military, an american or a thai government worker

  21. According to international news, the government is sending the Thai Red Cross into the mob's encampment tomorrow to try and convince women, children and anyone who want's to t leave - can't say fairer than that. Those who remain will have to accept the consequences.

There is no way anyone in his right mind can blame the government for any deaths after so much effort.

Get out, go home or ..........

Interesting film coverage of reds looting shops and banks - the only thing where they get it wrong is that some woman reporter pointed at rocks and molotov cocktails and saying those are the mobs weapons .... there are so many pictures of them with guns and of course their favorite M79 grenades that this comes down to bad reporting.

Can you give me a video link to reds with arms outside the encampment
