I've been saying for ages that a minor change to the law that allows foreigners that are legally married to a Thai, should be allowed to be a joint owner of your principle place of residence, putting a size limit on it would stop huge land grabs with a house plonked on it.

I suspect it was more like 4,000-5,000 per day, my wife struggles with 1,000's and 10,000's mixes them up all the time.

@canopy see the above and respond please.
Thanks I did find the Thai Sikaflex site but couldn't see that particular product and I also found a list of distributors on that site, so when all this Covid shutdown rubbish ends I'll pay them a visit.

@canopy, have you seen this anywhere here in Thailand ?? I spent a lot of time repairing cracks in our house after 1 comer sunk badly about 8 1/2 years ago and have just discovered that one has opened up again and this Sikaflex may be the best best, anything else will just crack again at some stage.

My wife and daughter headed up to Nong Bua Lam Phu mid March and have been stuck up there ever since, she's going to try and head home to Pattaya on the 29th.

If you in Pattaya and need massage, a very few places are still open, but you really gotta use your eyes to find them.
Same goes for alcohol.
Do tell, I have a lot of back problems, I stopped outside my normal massage place on the darkside a few days ago after I saw the front door open, I was told straight up, no way, I asked can I get someone to come to my house and got the same response ???? A PM would suffice if you know of somewhere over here.

There's a rumour elsewhere on Thai Visa from the boss of Chaeng Wattana that Immigration will be closing tomorrow, presumably for the duration. Has anybody heard anything at Jomtien Immigration?
I have a question re the offices closing, my Spouse Extension under consideration period is up next Thurs 2nd April, IF they are closed down by then, does that put me into overstay without whatever it is that gets put in my passport after getting through the 30 day period. ??
-
I switched this time, last Tuesday at Jomtien, the female IO at counter 6 asked me why I was changing from Retirement and I simply said I didn't wish to lock up 800k, she got very snarly from that point onwards and made me go and fill in 2 TM7's by hand when I had 2 I had filled in on the computer, she also would no longer speak with me and only spoke to my wife, then palmed us off onto a more senior male IO, he was much easier to get along with.
The male IO spent a long time talking to someone on the phone and the wife tells me it was about his concern that I would withdraw the 400K from the bank and spend it, which of course I am entitled to do anyway, the long and short of it is we had our home visit from 3 IO's this morning and everything is hopefully on track.
I did say to the senior IO this morning that it was a massive pile of paper he had (about 20mm thick with the 3 lots piled on top of each other) and he gave me a bemused "Yeap"
The snarly female IO also told my wife that neither of us was allowed to go anywhere during the 30 day under consideration period, which is a load of garbage, I made the wife ask this morning during the visit if she was free to head up country and was told she could go anywhere she liked now that they had been.- 1

If I were you I would be getting the grass back away from the trunk for starters, and loosed the top soil around the trunk a little, if you want to mulch around it, keep that back from the trunk as well.

I am going to change from Retirement to Marriage extension first week of March, my darling wife wants to head upcountry that week but I have told her she will need to hang around until after the home visit, anyone know how long they take to do the visit after lodging everything ??
I may actually get away without one, the foreign helper at the Jomtien office lives in my village and his wife and mine are good friends. ???? -
That image of the bikes looks more like the trails out at Khao Mai Keao Reservation Park off 3240, google it or search in Google Maps or Google Earth if you don't know where it is, heaps of trails out there.

I have True fibre to the router in Pattaya and I have the opposite experience to pookett, generally if there is an issue they are onto it quick smart and even give a small credit for the duration of the outage, I live over on the Darkside, top of Khao Talo.

What ever happened to the shiny new Chinese Built / Malaysian finished buses that landed in Laem Chabang that were meant to replace them , the right palms were obviously not greased sufficiently to get them through customs. ????

A good friend of mine got his Marriage extension recently at the Rayong office without the requisite Int Transfers codes against his transfers, both he and I use OrbitRemit, at first they said no.
But he produced enough documentation to show transfers being made out of his Australian bank account and the required amount of baht going into his Thai bank account on the same day, to encourage them to take it to head office and they eventually approved it, so it's not impossible, just needs an IO with a reasonable attitude towards it.- 2

A good mate of mine and I use Orbit Remit which doesn't show as international transfers and he has just successfully applied for and received a Marriage Extension in Rayong, at first they weren't agreeable, but after much discussion with head office in Bangkok, it was agreed that he could use it providing he supplied statements from his Australian bank that matched up with the interbank Thai transfers, which thankfully are normally same day.

I have been here for 12 1/2 years, last 8 or so on Retirement extensions, I arrived back from a week in the Philippines on Wed and my passport was given the 3rd degree by a woman IO who called over 2 others to look at it as well, not entirely sure what it was all about, she never actually said anything to me about it, but I got the impression they were scrutinising my address.

Different office, but Jomtien have told me twice now that if you are on Retirement extension and are returning to your usual address a TM30 is not required, told that the 2nd time only 3 or 4 weeks ago when I got a re-entry permit before heading home for a friends funeral.

I'm a little confused by all of this, I have never had anything but Non O visas, all obtained from my home country and always had a validity of 12 months, with an in / out run every 90 days, normally I could stretch them out to around 14 1/2 months before heading home to get a new one, I've been on Retirement ext now since the last one I got in 2011, it has 2 dates on it, 8 Dec 2011 to 8 Dec 2012

Thanks Joe, just did an edit on where the office is, never used it before, do you know ??

I was told this evening that my oldest friend of 50 years back home has finally succumbed to the brain tumours he has battled for the last 6 years or so.
To be absolutely sure I get home in time for his funeral I think I will need to take the midnight flight on Sunday, so the big questions are:
What hours are the Re-entry Permit office open at Swampy
Just where is it and
How long should I allow to get one ?? -
