I only have experience with Bangkok Bank's Bualuang banking app. it shows the name of the recipient. If it's in Thai I take a screenshot then use Google Lens to translate. If I'm standing next to the recipient I show them the screen and ask them to confirm that it is correct. A test transaction for the minimum amount is a good idea, then if successful add the payee to your favourites so you don't have to redo the above process.

Re-entry permit or not?
Lemsta69 replied to Confuscious's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think what he's really trying to say is why do Thai immi make you apply for a re-entry permit instead of just letting you back in without one. he seems to think he should be allowed to come and go as he pleases because...reasons. -
New Australian Passport
Lemsta69 replied to brianthainess's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
maybe they're making them in Oz and not Thailand. there's a backlog 'back home' because lots of people waited until the last minute to renew their passports. then they all wanted a new passport as soon as the travel restrictions were lifted. -
correct, they're abominations from the East. East of Dover that is ????

Reducing my house electricity costs – any advice please .

thanks for explaining this 0.9343 FT thingy. I got quite the shock when I picked up my latest bill. I somehow managed to use 638 killer wasps and the FT was B596.08! total was B3,455.43. I can easily afford it but still I'm ashamed to have used that much power just for myself. my Scottish mother will be very, very disappointed ???? -
so the tourists can have fun splashing about amongst the live wires. sanuk mak!

I bought some train tickets at Hualomphong a few months back and confirm that they wanted to see ID. since I don't have Thai DL I showed my passport. BUT, I was able to buy tickets for my friend and his Thai wife by showing photos of his passport page and her Thai ID card. you can also buy train tickets online but I haven't tried that service yet. not a massive train fan. dunno about the ferry though. you'd hope no ID is required but another member has said they were required to show passport. if that's the case, hopefully a photo on phone or photocopy of PP will suffice. assuming of course that the OP took such precautions. easy to forget that sort of stuff if you're a scatterbrain like me. that's why I suggested Khao San Road, they might be a bit more flexible there. but I haven't actually tried booking any travel there recently so I could be talking out of my a®se. if OP really needs to know I guess I could head over there and find out, the craft beer at the Sheepshank is quite tasty ????

this is a sticking point, or points, for some applicants hence the "easier" comment from earlier.

harping on about Thais wearing masks. makes zero sense to me.

community spirit means jack to my landlord when the rent is due. as for English teaching, nope not in the slightest bit interested in it. however, some of my friends are or were English teachers so I have no issues with the profession per se. a couple of them run their own school a little bit south of here. but getting paid the ludicrously low salaries that are on offer here? now that's just nuts.

People are getting stupid-er or am I just getting older/wiser?

I doubt that what you do slows the process down by a significant margin. like you said, what else do you do with the loose change except maybe dump it in one of those questionable charity boxes? at any rate, other customers hold up the line in the Seven. paying with wonky cards, stuffing around with showing their membership card, topping up their SIM card but forgetting their bloody number* pointless worrying about it, it's way she goes. jai yen yen and all that. *guilty as charged Your Majesty ???? -
do you reckon he was impaired by alcohol? I've done silly sh¡te like that after I've had a few. there but for the grace of God etc. drinking clouds your judgement so it's easy to forget that crossing a major road like that is like dancing with the Devil. heck, back home in South Western Sydney you have to have your wits about you just crossing a quiet suburban street. you never know when some fully sick brother in V8 Commy or a Rexxy is going to come flying out of nowhere at 100 kph.
