  1. Immigration police aren't responsible for enforcing traffic rules, as is the case back home in bonnie Utopia, therefore your point is moot.
  2. as soon as a farang is granted Thai citizenship he is immediately conferred the status of Khun Ying. Don't believe me? Just ask Neeranam ????
  3. You can keep your social standing, I'll talk to whomsoever I please. My Dad was a taxi driver, it's an honest profession, so why should I be ashamed to talk to a Thai cabbie? ps. A Thai business man is the last person in the world I aspire to be like.
  4. at least they didn't steal a taxi and smash it up like that crazy Skandi the other day.
  5. you didn't scroll down far enough so obviously missed this comment from the OP. the answer is yes, he can do the TM30 himself... "They answered me : Quote All our other tenants are like this. We only provide information about TM30, and they can do it. There will be no fines. Can I really do it myself ?"
  6. I use Cardless Cash now because it saves me the 15 baht out of province free that BBL so kindly charge ????
  7. from the one at Two Pacific Place, Bangkok ???? Siam Legal that is, they sponsor this website... https://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand-visa/about-tm30-thailand
  8. here's the translated wording courtesy of Siam Legal: https://library.siam-legal.com/thai-law/thai-immigration-act-temporary-stay-in-the-kingdom-sections-34-39/ "Section 38 The housemaster, the owner or the possessor of the residence, or the hotel manager where the alien, receiving permission to stay temporary in the Kingdom has stayed, must notify the competent official of the Immigration Office located in the same area with that hours, dwelling place or hotel, within 24 hours from the time of arrival of the alien concerned. If there is no Immigration Office located in that area, the local police official for that area must be notified. In case the house, dwelling place, or hotel where the alien has stayed under provision of paragraph 1 is located within the Bangkok area, such notification must be reported to the competent official at the Immigration Division."
  9. previous threads on this topic suggest that immigration will fine the tenant rather than the landlord because it's easier for them to extort the money by withholding the service that the tenant requires.
  10. I thought we weren't supposed to partition SSDs because of the wear levelling thingy?
  11. yes, there are ads. that's how the website owners pay the bills.
  12. they don't give visa on arrival to just anybody. only 16 or so nations are on the list and Austria is most definitely not one of them.
  13. I think you meant "ads". but your experience is not universal. if it were then this website wouldn't exist.
  14. oh that's why! thanks for letting us know.
  15. seen one temple, you've seen 'em all. Pattaya bars are much more interesting than temples.
  16. I used to do that about 25-odd years ago when I was staying on the Khao San Road/Soi Rambuttri area. it was fun as hell, especially coming back home drunk from Nana Plaza on those crazy old "green rockets". once I took a random bus to the end of the line which was somewhere down near the river. I took the one baht ferry across the river to God knows where and got chatting to a young Thai fella who wanted to know what the hell I was up to. he bought me a Coke and then I just turned around and went back the same way I came. great way too see the city if you have the time and the forbearance for the non-AC buses (cheaper, better view)
  17. I used to have this tainted viewpoint as well, rammed into me by my God-fearing mother at a very young age. it took me a very long time but, thank Buddha, I eventually got over it.
  18. there are plenty of hardworking people here.
  19. makes sense to me, perhaps you need to think about it a bit longer instead of just trashing the merchant.
