  1. I've got better thing to do with my time. if a cabbie wants four bucks instead of three bucks for a ride across town I'm happy to oblige. old mate might get to enjoy a cold beer at the end of his shift. it's the "principal" ????
  2. yikes. sounds like you're yet to master the good old jai yen yen. I regret clicking on "show this post" ????
  3. this is exactly how I feel about Americans ????
  4. that's not particularly difficult as far as I know. to wreck a Humvee that is. the Seppo soldiers had to buy their own armour plating to protect themselves from IEDs. should have bought the Bushmaster PMV ????
  5. spare me the morality lesson. TIT, pay or get shut down. or in a case I have personal experience with, shut your speakeasy in Pattaya when the cops tell you to or get arrested and deported LOL. this is no country for do-gooders.
  6. sounds like you need a onw-way trip back to your nanny state. I'll give you a hundred baht to help you on your way ????????????
  7. good to hear. only one more transfer and you'll be rid of those numpties forever ????
  8. no, he should use whatever address is easiest and what gets him the extension. why create a rod for your own back by slavishly following the rules to the letter?
  9. more fool the Dutch guy. when in Rome...
  10. yes you can. it's only wrong if you get caught.
  11. are all those cheaper places near The Base?
  12. you sure about that boss? I don't know of any Aussie banks that will allow payid transfers for $320k. even getting ANZ to approve an OTC transfer of that amount might be a struggle, the Big 4 aren't particularly generous.
  13. correct, you pay AUD to a local AU back account. there are multiple methods but OP would be best to use BSB and account number. assuming that ANZ don't give him any grief about transferring such a large amount at once. when transfer is complete OP can choose to convert all or part of the funds to THB using the convert function. then push out to a Thai bank account at his leisure. attached screenshot shows sample AUD transfer to Wise's AU bank account for ten dollars.
  14. grrl power. what's not to like?
  15. he looks like the sort of drongo that turns up to the dining car at 10pm with all of his feral mates, squeezes out the locals and then tells the staff to change the awesome Thai music for his mix tape of random farang sh!te. because the Lonely Planet said that's what you must do. Feral farang ruined Thai train travel long before the booze ban.
  16. sounds like most of the farang I've met whilst here in Thailand.
  17. there's no such thing as karma.
  18. OK no worries, enjoy your trip ????
  19. that's 31 days including arrival date, not 30. also out by one day, that's 46 days incl. arrival date not 45
  20. tbh I don't really know about the timing. only used it once when I came over last December, made the booking the day before and printed it out at home. having a home printer is sooooo convenience ????
  21. I guess terminology depends on who you hang out with. I was taught that 'visa run' = schlepp all the way to an embassy or consulate to get an actual visa, ie. a big ol' trip especially if you did it by 3rd-class train from Bangkok to Penang ???? 'border run' or 'bounce' or 'hop' means you just head to nearest border, go out of Thailand into neighbouring country and come right back in again.
  22. rent a ticket for airline check-in. onwardticket(dot)com
  23. what @jacko45ksaid, no need for a visa, just do a border bounce after the 30-day extension. incorporate it into your trip, head up to say Nong Khai then pop over to Lao for another 30. even better, head to Vientiane for a day or two. Beer Lao by the Mekong, what's not to like? ????
  24. *Padang Besar. sorry, but can't let this one slide ???? and now I'm hungry for some masakan padang ????
  25. yes, but you wouldn't necessarily have to do a visa run. border bounce will get you another 30 days.
