  1. not even close but hey, believe what you want to believe. it takes hundreds of hours of reading to understand Bitcoin so pretty hard to accept what comes from someone who probably gets his news from Buffet and Munger: "Bitcoin's bad mmkay?"
  2. I'll only be using Bolt or Grab now if I'm desperate. 30% commission is highway robbery. I've had good results here in Bangkok with regular taxis so I'll stick with them for now. except in rush hour then it's BTS or motosai.
  3. they don't do anything that Sydney drivers don't do. if anything the majority of them are more cautious than Sydney drivers. you're the funny one champ, not me.
  4. maybe taxis use gas but private vehicles are most likely petrol. well that's my assumption anyway.
  5. been doing a fair bit of riding in taxis here in Bangkok. Thai drivers are fine. sounds like you need a break from the place, need help with a ticket out? ps. I'm from Sydney in case anyone wants to have a go.
  6. you're being completely unreasonable. the kind of farang that us normal people wish a sinkhole would open up and swallow you whole. kthxbye.
  7. and grit your teeth and smile even though you've got a nasty hangover and just want to scowl at the world until it goes away. think I'll keep wearing masks outside LOL
  8. that's how Thailand works man. it's what makes the place so special. the price you pay for not having to live in the nanny state. love it or...
  9. pretty sure that only a chosen few actors are overpaid. the non-A listers and the crew aren't well paid in relation to the big boys. producers and studio execs skim from the top as well. not to mention the creative accountants who can make the most profitable movies in history run at a loss. this is why you're mad if you actually part money to watch TV shows and movies.
  10. keep telling yourself that champ. whatever gets you through the day ????
  11. sounds like you've been staying into the abyss for too long. or maybe you're CS as we say in Australia. "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you." - Friedrich Nietzsche
  12. it ain't easy is it? I've had to do this many times for KYC and it usually takes me five or six goes until I get a useable shot. best to be sober when you're doing it ????
  13. not a new concept at all. I guess you've never watched any kidnap movies where they ask for proof of life.
  14. yeah that's how I was introduced to weed at age 15. lucky for me I didn't like it so didn't turn into a pothead. not that there's anything wrong with that but it does seem anawful more of effort. dudes at school were talking about pulling cones as soon as they woke up in the morning.
  15. you know the answe to that bro. the more clicks the better. ad revenue, the way she goes.
  16. that even worse. at least they're honest about it here then the oh-so-holier than thou West. how many world wars did Thailand start, I forgot.
  17. I live in an expensive street in Lumphini that smells like poo-poo at certain times. expensive-smelling poo-poo. but it doesn't seem to bother the local "hi-sos", I guess because they never wind down the windows of their BMWs or Ferraris ????
  18. I'm guessing maybe that @Danderman123is newish to the scene and still trying to get his head around it. that or he's been here a long time but is just a bit too into the scene. I used to be like that until I got bored with the backstory. go to bar, dlink a dlink, buy a few lady dlinks, get dlunk and have a big ol' sanuk. if they want a shoulder to cry on then they can pay you! ????
  19. before I left the good ol' nanny state I was using my NFC-enabled smartphone to pay for everything. Google Pay and Apple Pay can link to your debit card and they use a virtual card number so it's safer than using your physical card. dunno what that's not a thing here in TH but I'm across glad that it's not otherwise it wouldn't feel like I'm in a foreign country. "if everybody looked the same, we'd get tired of looking at each other" - Groove Armada.
  20. so I guess that means you pay at least double or triple your bill in tips to all Thai service staff that you interact with to compensate for the slave wages that they get paid? ps. this is no country for moral men.
