  1. this is the way of the world brother. that it ever was.
  2. prove to me that 100% of the lawyers in Bangers and Patts don't work on a contingency basis. emails will suffice, it doesn't need to be on letterhead. kthxbye.
  3. some people just don't want to know the finer details. a few years ago a good friend who had been living in TH for a long time told me he had to go to Mae Sai for a "visa run". I said you mean a border bounce right because AFAIK there's no consulate up that way? he got real angry and shouted at me. "they're the same thing!" my mate probably "renews" his "retirement visa" every year too now that he's 50+. dunno why you bother helping ungrateful people, just let 'em get on with it. let them go to Nong Khai, cross into Lao, oops "Lay-os" and get a "visa on arrival" when they come back into Thailand ????
  4. I know, that's why I suggested it. true colours and all that.
  5. it serves a purpose. what's the name of your Bangkok/Pattaya/P4P -centric blog then mate?
  6. agree with it, say what? simply pointing out that actions have consequences. don't poke the bear. in the US, where the bulk of those urban myths seem to arise, tips are what the service staff live on. that's the game. hate the game not the place. don't tip the standard 15% and they've effectively worked for nothing. maybe they won't make the rent or cant buy Chrissy presents for their kids. but you sound like you don't have much practical life experience so I CBF trying to explain any further. kthxbye ????
  7. well if you're silly enough to not leave a tip when it's expected/mandatory eg. USA then you deserve everything you get.
  8. you've canvassed every lawyer in Pattaya and Bangkok then have you?
  9. "Qanon for Asia"? nah mate, it's not that good! ????
  10. i recommend you subscribe to the FullFeed channel on Telegram and read as many of the articles as you can. it's a crypto news aggregator so it has links to many different sites and should give you a more informed viewpoint than what passes for such at NYT, WAPO and the like. it does require a bit of effort of course, there's approx. 100 links per day.
  11. that's what they charge brother and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it so dance farang, dance.
  12. I used to live in that crime-infested cesspit until I got lucky and was able to retire early to Thailand. I'm from the C*nterbury-Bankstown area so know this stuff only too well. one of the latest Alameddine on Hamzy executions happened a couple of streets away from where my dear old mum lives. the only upside to that place is 1) the manoush and charcoal chicken is to die for and 2) the habibs seem to be fairly good at keeping civilians out of it unless you go poking your nose in. oh yeah, and we never worried about locking our doors at night because nobody is going to come to East Bankstown and <deleted> with the habibs.
  13. General Manager needs new Pirellis for his M3?
  14. I've been doing this for some time with wait staff that I really like but I've recently had it confirmed by a Bangkok BG that it's a "thing". she told me her friend was really peeved one night because one of her regulars gave her an 800 baht tip but he put it in the "box" instead of her hand. once it goes in the "box" supposedly no-one can touch it except the cashier. box meaning the little tray they bring your bill/change on.
  15. it's great mate, come on down to Patpong 2 and don't forget your big bag of THB.
