  1. I second Pattaya2U. I have been using them for years. They Speak Good English, Fair Prices and no BS selling you extra parts and service you don't want. Highly recommended.
  2. Another Issue I have just come across with Krungsri. Now they have shut down the mobile app there is no way to transfer money from a FCD (Foreign currency deposit account) to my Thai baht account. Apparently I can still send Sterling to my FCD account and view the balance, but to exchange it to Thai baht I have to go to the Bank. This makes no sense to me as both accounts are in my name at the same branch! The reason I do this is so I can take advantage of the exchange rate fluctuations which has save me quite a lot over the last few years. I thought they wanted people to use the apps but the absolute reverse is happening. I for one now keep a months worth of cash because I have no idea if I will be able to access my bank tomorrow!
  3. I use Medisafe all the time. 30% cheaper than local bought Meds and next day delivery.
  4. If your Partner likes Issarn food try Lab Lum very good Issarn and Norther Thai Food and nice atmosphere.
  5. I have an LTR Retirement. As I understand it the retirement version puts you in a tax exempt catagory while the other LTR Visas allow you to pay the reduced rate on Money brought into Thailand. Obviously money earned in Thailand would still be classed as taxable in all versions although I think this is at the lower rate you mentioned (I could be wrong on this). When I was applying for my LTR my agent showed me the Listing in the Royal Gazet which approved the tax exemption for this class of visa and I have seen several confirmations of this by reputable accountants since. I checked with my agent in late December and she assured me I don't need a TIN and am tax exemped. I am surprise that more people don't know about this although you obviously have to have a pretty good income from investments to qualify. With regard to Thailand entry I can relate, as the immigration officer told me on my last entry. that it the first time he has ever seen this Visa and he also had to go and look it up!
  6. Eucalyptus Oil will Shift it easily without damaging the paint but it has a very strong smell. (Which I like). You can get it at most Pharmacys.
  7. Sounds great for the Government in priciple. But how many more customs officers will then need to calculate all these few baht duty for each shipment and are they suddenly expecting all the carriers to collect the duty for them! I expect chaos to ensue before the policy is reversed.
  8. La Cremery. Good fresh sour dough all baked on premisis. My goto bread shop.
  9. So what happens to anyone buying a condo. Has the price just gone up by 20/30% or whatever, thats going to have a pretty big impact on the new condo market!
