Sorry, that was a bit confusing, my original visa was here in Thailand, Non O. sounds best to go to BBL Silom branch the day before and get both 12 month statement and the balance letter.

Good info, last year I was told by immigration to bring 3 months of statements for my retirement extension, and that didn't work. I was able to verify the next day by bringing all of my passbooks rather than statements from Bangkok bank. So I am guessing no need to get 1 year of statements? Silom branch issues the same day - coming from a friend that does marriage extension. On Bangkok immigration/Service/Visa Extension/For foreigner/22. Visa Extension in case of retirement - they list health insurance. that is if I originally got the Visa in home country? (USA) My original Visa was here in Thailand.
