That's just what I was thinking....and yet who actually endorses this type of visa...and issues it ? Immigration or the school? It seems the authorities want to rid parts of LOS from foreign riff raff that are making problems and you are advertising a fix for the folk WE want to get rid of......

Because Thai reasoning no harm was done, except to herself. So why bother and charge her.
Why have they YET TO decided to charge her with drink driving? How guilty can you be? I suppose the fine for not wearing a helmet will be waived next....
How about to stop her doing it next time....when she may well injure some innocent ? How many deadly accidents are caused from drunk driving by persistent offenders ? Persistent offenders because your Thai reasoning dictates no effective deterrent or preventative measures are required..

Hurrah for another cosmetic and predictably ineffectual, supposed enquiry into possible, (yet only alleged ) corruption !

Guess you also protect yourself from any unforeseen circumstances.... by not having any. But, of course, nothing bad ever happens in your Fantasy Thailand .My property here is well protected; it is in my wife's name............... You try getting money out of her!!!!!!!!!
I've protected my property in Thailand from debt problems back "home" by not having debt problems back "home." Somewhat radical and innovative for the free thinkers here at the Farang Fantasy Factory, I know, but so far it's worked well.

How about catching and prosecuting reckless drivers BEFORE they cause carnage.
Totally agree...if only there weren't so damn many of them .

Thailand is lawless, It does not even have a Govt. It is descending into anarchy.
An accurate observation, except that Thailand does have laws, has a government and is nowhere near anarchy.
Thailand has laws, which it's citizens show total disregard for, and a government which, through it's major instruments.(.police force and judiciary) fails to uphold or enforce.
At all levels from petty theft to major political corruption.

Rise in the cost of living excuse ? So the increase in the minimum wage was not sufficient to accomodate a 25/50 satang increase in a packet of noodles, then ?

An "unordinary, ordinary day" campaign ....inspirationally, uninspirational.
One price for all weekdays, and 100bt for "weekend packages"
Baffling concept .

So what was the real reason then, that a re-enactment didn't happen, or that 3 other "suspects" were allegedly beaten by police officers ?

And yet the headline reads "people miss their flights". 74 people according to the airport duty officer, who will doubtless now get a bullet from Mr Patuang for telling it other than the official face-saving version. Can't argue that many people were inconvenienced and the situation should have been handled differently but did anyone read the last line?
Even though a lot of flights were delayed, I have been informed that none of the passengers booked on those flights were left behind, Mr Patuang said. They were all able to board their planes.
Tells me at least the airport authorities and the airlines went out of their way to accommodate the customers. And why didn't the other van drivers caught in the blockage just make a u-turn and use the old road? The airport vans sent to the area did.

Wonder whether it was the bus or the motorcycle that was cornering on the wrong side of the road ...or both ?

....and people hate farangs who go bare chested in the sunshine.
"It's so non Thai like" they say... width=32 alt=coffee1.gif>
They're not shirtless by choice, it's a way the police use for temporarily identifying those that they have an interest in. Completely different from shirtless farangs.
How do they identify female offenders that they "have an interest in " ?

5000bt fine...reduced to 500bt ? Did someone initially understand the perps to be foreigners then ?

I can't, yet I expect there's many a greedy Thai Mamasan that would.Let's face it, underage boy of 13, Dad paying a hooker for sex - how can anyone justify that?
-
Would you also care to guess then, at what course of action the authorities will pursue ?I'm sorry but what the actual hell?? They didn't press charges cos he had a ticket???
Let me guess, hi-so and connected then?
Let me guess, you can't read? Charges were not made at the time because he was unstable and maybe mentally ill, not because he had a ticket.

Anyone who considers song-thaews to be the worst thing in Pattaya has surely missed out on many of the other experiences that this delightful city has to offer !

So, a revered monk, who you would expect to have renounced all material and worldly goods, can offer bt500,000 to the Royal Thai Police force, (to serve and protect), who need an "incentive/bribe/reward) to carry out their duty.

It's hurtful.

Yeah Donnie, That's the only thing we hate about your posts, let's go with that............................
As for me there mikemac it's the emoticon virtuosi such as yerse'f , the Tweeters, guys who try to build little camps around the notion that stoopid and the verbally limited and the unread and those fully accepting of any and all gov't BS somehow have a direct line to Gawd and "the really of it". Posters who promote ignorance and illiteracy and folly yep FOLLY . . . . (only two syllables but I figure it'll bother you a smidge. . . .
But yeah, it's the hurtful comments some of you cowboys make when you, um, realize that I gotcher sad-case bedtime stories . . . . . . . gotcha comin' AND goin'.
So that's why you see ol' Donnie up there, smilin' from the inside.
Or maybe that's Donnie the morning after he's taken three Lomatils instead of a couple of Panadols.
How about YOU there mikemac.
Anything upset you more than a real estate pitch gone sideways or a cold call that wastes your time and then laughs in your ear ;-?

And when it's shown that compelling potential Foreign criminals to get a visa doesn't actually result in a downturn in crime, will the Authorities then consider addressing the problem from another angle ? Stolen passports and forged documentation not being an occupation solely reserved for Foreigners !
