Dear Thai Bash Department:
It is duly noted that in Farangatopia in those rare cases where crime occurs, they are quickly solved 100% of the time, the correct person is convicted, and the justice system is flawless.
Criminals in Farangatopia never really work out in detail how to execute a crime, and rarely consider an escape route, which is why 100% of the time they are apprehended almost instantly.
We also acknowledge that accidents never happen, the rich, famous, powerful and influential are treated exactly the same as everyone else, and are never afforded any special treatment.
All politicians are altruists whose only purpose in life is to ensure the well being of the common man, and who are ethically above reproach.
Even when tragedies like 9-11 in the USA occur, and two super structures collapse within thier own footprint, and buildings nearby, hours later, also fall into their own basement, we know it is "just one of those things" and perfectly understandable.
Conversely, in the Kingdom of Thailand, despite the fact that criminals sit patiently at the scene of the crime, making no effort to disguise themselves or escape. despite that, the Police can not catch them.
There the criminals sit, out in the open with a "I did it sign" around their neck, and if it were not for the expert work of the Thai Visa Detective Unit, the fact that the authorities have, and always will .. bungle each and every easily solvable case .. such as the bombings ... would not be duly noted.
Congratulations ladies, once again you have managed to solve a case from bar-stools, recliners and brothels ... having no access to all the evidence, no input from Interpol or other cooperative parties, no training or back ground ... but because your skin contains less Melanin ... you are just plain smarter ... yes?
So, enjoy this glorious day, which I think we should set aside as "Bash Day" since Hooray! The bombers are on the loose and of course, the Police are HAPPY about that!
This is one of those days, being a Farang with 90% of my friends being Thai ... sucks .. because they go on this site, and read this tripe. I know, because they ask me .. in so many words .. "Why are these people in my country?"
Perhaps it may be worth asking your obviously well educated Thai friends to look inwardly and ask themselves " Why do certain subjects cause anger and ridicule among the Farang community ?"

So "tea money" not accepted in the coffee shop ?
-
Interpol are the only realistic hope. Assuming they get full co-operation from the Thai authorities including Immigration Police, and there's not a shambolic face-saving internal squabble as witnessed with the "gun in hand luggage" episode.

What is the big drive to get more Chinese tourists? They come in groups, rubber neck, take photos and get back on a bus, .. spend nothing and have no respect for Thai culture or customs. You'd be better to get back the European, Aussies, Americans and other Farang your rules and regulaztions chased away. They respect Thai ways and spend money
Ho Ho Ho. I laugh on you. They treat Thailand as a sperm receptacle and a vomitoreum.
Not all of them, mind you. But the Chinese I run into are more polite than the average Euro or Aussie or US tourist. (Canadians generally get high marks from me- so polite they're spooky)
Of course, you won't even know they're Chinese if they blend right in... You only notice the knotheads.
Remind us again which nationality it was that the Thai tourist board deemed necessary to be handed published guidelines on unacceptable behaviour in public ?

South of Ubon our local doctor was warning all who visited her clinic that she had received "numerous" cases of Dengue just recently.
-
More guns on the streets that any South East Asian country and more murders by guns.
Says who?
A spokes-person for TAT, shortly before being promoted, by any chance ?

Pattaya Police and vendors are partners. First hand knowledge.
"First hand knowledge"
Really, first hand? So what you're saying is that you are either a jetski operator or a police officer. Can't see why you'd want that known.
Why not ? Perhaps he's saying that he was a victim, in which case he may want the world to know. Ever consider that possibility -in your haste to mock ?.

1 million because they are RICH!!! They have spent billions on Real Estate in America, and fly the world to see how the expats live.
People are so jealous they can fly to Thailand, and then LEAVE......while most expats here spend 49 baht on soup noodle and wait for change from their 50 baht bill...
yes, this means you!!!!
i'm off to china to study the pandas......
Don't rush back.

This happened yesterday, and they are certain this won't have any effect?
It seems they haven't caught up with the fact that it's another 2% today in addition to yesterday's cut. Clearly what is happening in China will have an impact. In respect of tourism it could turn out to be a plus as more Chinese look for cheaper, closer alternatives to UK, Europe, US.
Believe it will be more a case that significant numbers of new Chinese tourists, for whom travel has only recently become a reality on grounds of affordability, may find their Wanderlust restricted. The wealthy will not face quite the same concerns.

Seems it's harder to find legal (bona fide) and willing Thai nominee shareholders. Greedy and complicit "illegal" ones not so ?
-
How much compensation you receive here always seems dependent on how much you are prepared to invest/gamble on legal and other interested parties "fees".
Some you win, some you lose as the contesting party will do the same. Not often a level playing field though.

its like living in the 'Wild West''....
..or LA. NY, Ferguson and so on.
I constantly read that Thailand is a 'Third World Country'. Why don't the writers go back to the 'First World' and to Mass shootings in Schools, Movie Theaters and inside homes etc? Are Magic Tattoos any different to Statues of a Man on a Cross, or so called 'Relics' or any other religious item. To each his own as long as they don't hurt you. Peace and Goodwill for everybody - please.
Fine sentiments, and yet, sadly, people do get hurt because of these beliefs. False bravado and reckless driving encouraged by the confidence of " invincibility" provided by amulets and such-like being a tangible example.

I'd fly half way around the world to to see a polystyrene copy of an ancient temple.
And come home with anther souvenir t-shirt with the slogan "Same same but different" or "2016 Ancient Khmer temple built in Thailand by Burmese slave labour "

Lets hope they have to surrender their firearms also.

Well done chaps, but I believe the elite plain-clothes team may just have blown their cover !
-
I guess the required no of houses depends on how many people can be allocated to each dwelling.....
And, either the 3.7 million folk are outside of the official age for employment, or the figures have been provided by TAT.

So, 6 months to ascertain which affected and influential establishments should find their way onto an exclusion list.
-
Police know the area is commonly used by young men who shoot their guns in the air at the location.
That's a relief then....that they're aware,I mean .

The problem with many tourists is that they don't know about the many dangers in Thailand, they see these great commercials on tv and mags in travel agents and all they see it the land of smiles, temples etc.i think hotels should let tourists know the dangers of wearing expensive jewelery and carrying a lot of cash especially at night in hot spots.maybe they can leave a leaflet in their room.
Agree....the conundrum being how do you attract the desired 'quality" tourist, then advise them to leave all their "quality" belongings locked away whilst enjoying their "quality" experience ?

A lean and active cat works extremely well, in my experience !

Guess he'll be driving a minivan now for 6 months.

Huh ? Looks to me that the cement truck is on the correct side of the road and probably it was the pick-up doing the normal reckless overtaking manoeuvre .

Rubbish. what about he 15 million of those that are illiterate. Every Thai has a T.V, you must broadcast a charter draft. Air it on Mr Prayth chat show every day in script and voice over after each prime time news program.
Perhaps get the primary school children to recite the charter (along with the core values), religiously each morning. It may well be in place by the time they become adults.

Went to Jomtien station about my S-i-L's stolen car. BIB wanted 10K to get off his bottom.
In Krabi they wanted 5000bt to consider my neighbour's stolen motorcycle......and "consider" just about sums up their actions.

You don't believe that a happy outcome to these criminal proceedings was not discussed or already concluded as part of the settlement "deal", then ?
Note where these meetings took place for a clue.
