I was there earlier this year mainly rural parts of the south ..I had to go through 100's of army check points . only in a couple of areas did I feel unwelcome and was told at the check points NOT to stop in certain villages , and getting a beer after a hot day on the road was a bit hit and miss , but visited some wonderful sites ???? UPDATE ! The Land & transport office have a LINE Group .. you can ask questions on there .. They respond fairly quickly during Office Hours , please don't ask me for the LINE address . I added them via a QR code at their Office . The messages I sent were in English and also translated into Thai using Google translator .. that worked for me

If it helps I was there to pick up a replacement Number plate which I lost on my travels "NOT" to renew my DL . different departments involved..... so you'll probably be OK .

I am in the early stages of planning motorbike a road trip around Cambodia ,, A brief itinerary Is :- November 17th < 20th Surin for the Elephant festival (300+ Elephants wandering around Surin lol). Not a write up as such but here's a short vid I did of part of the trip ,, I didn't have a problem with 99% of the journey but I did feel uneasy in some places ,

I didn't have a problem finding food to eat... most places would cook me something fresh ,, it was the locals that couldn't eat during daylight hours , and they didn't make me feel awkward for asking , I picked ramadan because I thought there was less chance of conflict over a religious period I was advice only twice at military checkpoints not to stop in certain locations for my own safety

Having completed a 16 day road trip on my motorbike around the rural roads of the southern provinces of Thailand (Not larger towns or cities) and predominantly small Muslim communities villages I can attest to the fact it was virtually impossible to find anywhere that sold beer let alone 7/11 's , I sure did miss my beer fix after a long hot day on the saddle

Slightly off topic ,, are motorbike taxis readily available in the City and what are there rates ? say for a 4km journey ?

I had a BP episode a few years back caused by shingles .. I did all the facial exercises religiously and after a week or so it started to improve and by the 5th week I was 99% back to normal . But I know from all the research I did the symptoms can last for years in a very small minority of people , But knowing it wasn't a stroke for sure made me happy is was only a BP episode .(lesser of the 2) evils

yeah ! my hotel contacted me this morning luckily I managed to cancel the previous dates and re book on agoda and get their very last room ,,,,,,,,phew!!
