Really leadership in contrast. Trump praised Putin and said the invasion was “a lot of love” while Joe unite the allies and thwart the invasion. Which you think need reassurance. The traitor or the patriot.

Bless ! I never mentioned  The Orange man     why do  Creepy Joe Supporter always have to resort to Trumpisms to win a agreement. "Two wrongs don't make a right"  Creepy Joe is a laughing stock around the world and he is well past his sell by date ,

Or do you actually think he is firing on all cylinder and he is the right man to be the leader of the free world?

I was looking after such place also sometime back, and was referred one place by a friend of a friend.  Rode there to ask - a low key home of a local couple that does that work there. Was quoted 2000 baht to re-do a steel-framed plastic rattan dining chair i.e somewhat questionable whether worth do or buy new ones. Have not had my chairs done yet though so can not comment on quality of work. But what they had ongoing when I visited, looked ok.

Cheers matey for taking the time to answer . My  table and 6  chairs only cost 18000b about 10 yrs ago ,,, at 2000 b per chair   maybe  the dumpster might be the best option and buy new  ????

  3. Hello All ,

Long shot here.. is there anywhere in the Pattaya area that can replace the plastic rattan on garden furniture ?  the frames are ok but the sun and heat has demolished the plastic rattan. and  a rough idea of a price pair chair would be nice too ????

    Cheers peeps ????

  4. A few questions I'd like answering before I book

1..  Which maritime agency has signed off on the repairs  ?

    2. has a certificate of seaworthiness been issued after these repairs and can you post a copy please  ?

    3. what sea trials will/were be carried out ?

    4. will the ferry be accompanied with a support vessel for it's first sailing after these repairs?

    5. can you confirm the next actual sail date from Sattahip?

    6. what's the easiest way  for me to book on the next passage and how   ?

I thank you in advance for answering all these questions

Drinking beer is supposed to attract more mosquitos.

There is anecdotal evidence that vitamin B deters them too. So maybe take vitamin pills or try Marmite.

But eat it. Don't spread it on your legs. That will just make your bedsheets messy. ????

Long sleeve shirts and trousers sprayed with, or rinsed in permethrin seems to be the way to go.

do you use Marmite as a topical anti mozzies defense ?  coz the Soi dogs would really love you lol

  6. Hi Folks   planning on spending a couple of night on the Island  and would  like to know where's the best "Nightlife" is  to be found at the moment??  And would also appreciate hotels  recommendations in that area (That will not break the bank) and also offers safe off road parking for a bigbike  and within a 5 to 10 minute walk  to the action ????

Cheer and Thx in advance ????

  7. Hello all ! I was wondering if any boat owners out of  Ocean Marine needs  any ad hoc  crew ?   Not interested in racing around the cans . A few years ago I used to do Yacht delivery work so I know the Lines etc .  But I have been land locks for a while .

The ferry experienced a major failure of 2 of its 3 main auxiliary engines and it was discovered that the bed plates had cracked and put the engines offline and out of sync. We then had to make the painful and expensive decision to remove the engines and change the bedplates in the interest of safety.  As these are very large engines and very heavy it takes time to source/ship and install the bed plates. We are well aware of this being the worst possible timing, especially as its peak season, but there was no other option.  Based on the current situation we expect/hope to renew the schedule end December/early January and finally get into a fixed sailing routine. In my 50+ years in the shipping industry I have never seen two engines go at the same time before. We'll be updating later in December once we know precise timing.

WOW!!  with all that time/years working  in the marine environment did you ever get to meet Captain Cook on your travels?

But at least those square riggers never had a iron donkey to worry about ????  lol

  9. Hello ...  I was wondering if it is possible to pre pay ones water & electric bills in advance (load up my accounts with money) if so how do I go about doing this ??.. I know I could set up a bank DD payment system but I do not want to go down that road ...

    Cheers ????

  10. Hello everyone ????

Planning to visit Koh Samui end of this month or early December , and I was wondering how busy the ferry is at this time ... I'll be on a big M/bike and I was wonder what the approx. waiting time would  be if I just turned up on the day , Or would it be advisable to pre book a place in advance ?

     Cheers in advance ,,,

Been a while since I did it, when I took the HD to Singapore the last time pre-Covid.

You must have the green book translated into English by an approved Translation service - I sent mine to BKK via EMS and was back in a week.

We crossed at Sadao. You go to the border, shops there will sell you a sticker which is a translation of your Thai license plate into English. I have no windshield, so cut the sticker and put the letters on LH fork leg and the numbers on RH fork leg. No issue.

Also have to buy insurance for the duration of your stay.

There is also a 3 page document you get from Thai Customs. Fill it out. You deposit one copy leaving Thailand. Do not lose the other copies, as you deposit one more copy entering back into the Kingdom.

Some have said that if the Green book is not in your name a Power of Attorney form would suffice. Have no direct knowledge of that.

You will love the roads in Malaysia. Smooth as a pool table.

Cheers!  for taking the time to answer my post .. mucho appreciated ????

PS where did you source the local insurance for your HD ?

I can't answer your main question but can tell you about getting a re-entry permit at BKK (Swampy). I have always found it much easier and faster to get the re-entry permit at the airport than at Chaeng Wattana Immigration. I print the form in advance, complete it and stick on the photo at home. As entering the immigration area head direct to the re-entry permit processing office (no need to stop at the desk where they do the form for you). Never waited more than 5 minutes - even before covid times. Got a multi re-entry there in September, again no more than 5 minutes. They even once transferred a multi re-entry permit to my new passport. They then let you into the immigration desk area to get stamped out.

A couple of notes: If you are using the fast track in the main hall then they will escort you to the re-entry permit office. If you are using the Thai airways fast track then you might need to ask an immigration officer to escort you there.

have you a link to download the form that you used please?
