  1. The B.I.B. must be pretty pissed with this making the press. Makes it nearly impossible to monetize the situation.
  2. No sex industry here in Thailand. Just ask the B.I.B.
  3. Typical Thai-Media racist reporting. Happy to show the foriegner but pixelate all the Thais.
  4. Maybe if they test a few Thai drivers and not let them go after Tea Money payments then they could do something about the appalling road death toll in Thailand.
  5. What amazing recuperative powers this man has. A few months ago he was so ill he couldn't possibly live in the monkey house. His medical condition was so poor he had to stay in a hospital.
  6. " The man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time." I rest my case your Honor.
  7. This is just another Thai politician/official making claims to do something but has now idea whatsoever how they will actually put those claims into action.
  8. I love the 6 monthly visits to Walking St & Soi 6 Pattaya by the Police heirachy who then proudly announce "No sex workers or prostitution going on here". Tea money sorts out all the sex-worker issues in Thailand.
  9. I for one am sick & tired of the Thai Media (Including english only ones) jumping straight behind the locals and editorialising about EVIL FOREIGNERS even when all the facts are sketchy at best. I travel to Thailand twice a year and treat myself to a high end hotel stay in BKK at the end of my stay. Every time, without fail, the cabbie tries to charge me 3000 - 5000 baht for an early morning ride from Sukhumvit to Suvarnabhumi Airport. I just throw 500 baht at him (even that is too much) and walk away. They carry on a bit but when I mention "Tourist Police" they always back off. I can not, and do not condone violence but I can understand someone losing it when time and time again these parasites try to rip off the unsuspecting tourist, backed up by corrupt police. It seems it only escalates to physical intervention when there is alcohol involved.
  10. The authorities will be busy making up some cock-a-maney story so as to try and not to further tarnish the already poor reputation of Koh Samui.
  11. Funnily enough, that is the one that had already drawn my attention. Just wanted a few other ideas in case I missed the best one.
  12. Looking at fitting an instantaneous electric water heater to supply two showers at same time. I want to fit outside of bathroom and adjust water temp by mixing hot/cold water. Can anyone recommend a make &/or model?
  13. Trouble is with 5G is when you have a busy weekend and lots of tourists phones are hitting your tower the speed drops consideraby.
  14. They (the cops) will fight tooth and nail to hang on to their jobs. The financial gains from endemic coruption are huge and they will want to continue the lifestyle that comes from all their ill gotten gains. Until there is a complete clean out, Thai people will continue to carry on with their total lack of respect for both the law and the police. Traffic rules are a prime example.
  15. QUEUE Greenies hysteria and fake news campaign.
  16. The car I am looking at is a W203 C32 AMG - about THB 700,000
  17. I have a house outside Bua Yai in Isaan and am trying to install smart wifi light switches. I notice that they (the 'electricians' that wired the house) have only switched the live side at the switches and left the neutral in the roof at the lights. I do know that there is smart switches avaialbe that do not require a neutral (only a capacitor across the live and neutral at the lights) but I beleive there are issues with buzzing noises and R.F. interference. I also believe that these type of switches are unable to dim, dimmable LED lights. My local guy is NOT an electrician and is having problems understanding what I need or why I would want it. Does anyone know of an english speaking sparky in the Bua Yai / Korat / Chaiyaphum or Khon Kaen areas I can talk to and hopefully get to do some work.
  18. The Stinger I have driven. It was actually an ex cop car. Yes it was impressive but just didn't excite me. Body dynamics were way out of kilter with drive train. I've also punted an i30 N around a track here in Oz and whilst it was an absolute hoot I don't know if I could live with it as a daily. Everyone to their own - that is what makes life interesting.
  19. Having spent a lifetime in the motor vehicle repair industry and now working on the IT side of things, there is certainly an air of smugness for sure. I buy second hand Benz's because I like them. This is not a completely logical choice, for the reason's you mentioned, but I just want to have that solid feeling around me when driving that is common to most German engineered cars and the asian manufacturers try so hard to copy. So back on topic, If I am going to outlay ฿1-2 million on a car, I would want it to have comprehensive insurance. If I can't have that I will have to buy one at a price that I am comfotable to lose if I was to have an accident.
  20. Yeah, most of my gear is vintage (I hate using that word for gear that is only 45 years old or so) Marantz, Cerwin Vega etc but the speakers are very big. Quote so far to get it all to Thailand is ฿60000 - ฿80000 so I was hoping maybe for that money I could buy locally. I am no audiophile and like my 70's,80's & 90's rock music loud and with plenty of bass. It is that live sound I enjoy most. Maybe I go and listen to some pro gear.
  21. Maybe educating yourself. But then who could you blame?
  22. Maybe you need help with chosing the cars you buy. Sounds like your pre-purchase checks haven't been that thorough.
