There is two sides to this story. One of appalling behaviour and another of appalling corruption.
Where there's smoke - there's fire. And why would the police put so much effort into proving his story wrong? There's plenty of stories around about people being marched to the ATM to sort out their arrest issue.
When they realised how pissed this fine specimen of a man was they thought he would be easy pickings.
This is just another example of T.A.T. or their paid media mates throwing out completely baseless CLICKBAIT to justify their own existence. Anyone who follows F1 knows there is a long waiting list of cities far more advanced along the process than Bangkok. That is unless he who-cannot-be-mentioned were to put his hands in his considerably deep pockets and grease the palms of the powers to be at F1.

I am in Thailand now on a 60-day tourist stamp. I have just realised my stamp expires 2 days before my flight back to Australia.
Am I right in assuming all I need to do is go out of Thailand and back in on the same day to get a new 60-day stamp?
In Thailand, if money's involved, you can guarantee some official(s) will be be scraping some (a lot) off the top.
There was probably not much left to actually run the courses.
