  1. I've just been told that on another forum someone said any money sent over to help finance a trip has to be there for 28 days. My girlfriend doesn't have much money herself although she has land which if she sold it would certainly be enough so although I will be paying for her trip I was going to send over some money s that she then has finance whatever happens between us. I would have thought so long as she has it that should be enough. Of course she could spend it all on shoes but that would be the case anyway. Again any experience of this would be helpful.

A letter from her employer confirming her government employment, and her ongoing employment there on her return to Thailand, should be included in her application.

  2. Give immigration both forms together, and just tell them you moved yesterday :)

The forms are relatively straightforward and are written in both Thai and English languages, so you should not have too many problems.

Thanks for advice however I hate to admit it but such words as TAMBOL, AMPHUR, TAMPON, AMPHOE have no meaning to me or to the in laws.

They are government administrative offices. An L at the end of a Thai word is pronounced as an N, I don't think they are ever called Tampons. :D

  3. Thank you thank you!!!

I am getting my wife to read this as most seem in agreement, 'MK is pants'. I agree with the cuteness of watching one's date cook for you, wears off when you have to eat the stuff.

The wife has learned a few new words too (sacrilege and crap) so thanks for those too.

I thought it was only me. Thank goodness for Tops selling minced beef and Paul Newman's spaghetti sauce.

I just found and bought a PATAK's Balti in a can. Not as good as a Leeds curry but close.

Bloody good for a bulk commercial line that is exported around the world.

  4. am ready to send to la my visa app for a tourist visa (by fed ex both ways}.....asking for 1 entry...however if 2 entry request is still considered frre i will request 2 entrys......i know 1 entry is good for 60 days and a 30 day extension....what is the purpose of getting 2 entry tourist visa...i may want to stay longer than 90 days?????a little help here would be appreciated.....

Why wouldn't you apply at the Thai Embassy in Mexico ?

  5. The younger sister of a friend failed her exam in accounting at Ramkanghaeng University. During the time before the second try I never saw her studying, and when I asked her why, I got a perfect Thai answer: "I know everything already, they just asked the wrong questions!" :)

I didn't think anybody actually failed exams in Thailand.

My GF has a bachelors degree in photography. The portfolio looked like something a ten year old could have produced and she hasn't a clue about the technical elements from what I have seen.

Maybe that's the plan: come to Thailand and get a degree. Anyone can do it, regardless of knowledge or ability.

Or am I being a bit harsh?

She picked you as her significant other. :D

  6. hi,

i'm a german citizen.i'm in thailand on a 30 day visa on arrival. i want to go to laos for a week or so and like to know if i can apply for a tourist visa in lao at the thai embassy. i'm a little confused with that 30 day rule. i would appreciate if somebody can help me

    thanks

You can apply for a tourist visa in Laos. Apply for two entries. They should be free.

  7. I'm interested too. I played a ton when I was a kid and would love to play again :)

Excellent! I think like many people we played as kids, put after 15 mins it comes back to you, a bit like riding a bike. Once you play a few games you are back in the zone :D . We play up to 11 points per game alternating serves every 2 points, it keeps it interesting and flowing. Skip the phuketsport owner is getting a new table this week, so we will have two tables.

    Banned member returns.

  8. Interested. Used to play quite a bit at some local bars but now my usual haunts don't have tables. I need to find this club. I hear there is volleyball there too.

If you head towards Chalong circle on the Viset Rd, the green leaf petrol station comes up on your left. Directly after the petrol station there is a Soi, (sorry not sure of the name) head up there for about 1.5 k follow the signs for Tennis, straight, left straight and it comes up on your right. Yes you can play volleyball, of course tennis which also is flood lit, pool, darts, fishing on a stocked man made small lake, bouls etc, and of course table tennis. I am not sure if I am allowed to announce websites on the forum?can someone let me know?

That was one of the things you got tossed out for last time. Bye bye.

  9. Hi everyone

Me and my boyfriend are flying to Thailand for cca 13 day. After that we plan to go to Cambodia for 2,5months and return to Thailand for few days before flying home. At consulate they told me that I can't apply for tourist visa - which is free at the moment (as I plan to travel further) and that i need TRANZIT visa for 2 entries (almost 50 dollars). Which I find stupid as I plan at least 13 days of my hollidays in Thailand. I never read anything about tranzit visa here. :)

Also on web they have published that I need photo for documents (I took it) and now they send me that I need bigger photos 4x6. :D

the actual visa requirement is two passport size photographs. What are your nationalities ?

  10. just turn up with oil passport and ID card.

It is fast and efficient, probably one of the best run and reliable public services you'll see anywhere in the world (and I'm serious on that).

Likely to be a 30 min to 1 hour turn around, at most, and the passport will be sent to you within the week (so long as you pay the 30 baht postal fee)

Mind you, if you applied at Sydney or Canberra it'd take about two months Samran. They really only play well on the home ground. :) Not so hot away.
