There are many very good buffets available in Bangkok. But it depends you want seafood or international, and of course also the price range.
Goji at the Marriott Marguis they have a really huge selection of many different styles of food, but it's also more expensive. At the end it depends on the price and what dishes you see as a must have...

If I may, I would like some advice on another topic. My wife obtained her British citizenship last year so she is now a dual national. We are going to the UK next month for a quick visit and although I am aware of the need to use her Thai passport for leaving and entering Thailand (and UK passport for England) my wife has posed an interesting question: when departing Thailand previously she has always had to produce her official "permission to enter" UK documents. Now of course she doesn't need these and she is afraid that if she is forced to show her UK passport the airport staff will insist on stamping her out on her UK passport, causing problems when we return. How have others dealt with this scenario? Thanks again.
At check-in she has to show her British passport to prove she is allowed to enter the UK (and the passport she used to book the flight with). At Immigration, she has to show her Thai passport or use the electric gate (for Thais).
Same when flying back from UK to Thailand. She has to show her Thai passport and the Passport which used to book the flight.
There is never a problem as long she always use the correct passport for the correct place.

I heard they were only 6 months valid. So I shall need a normal passport to travel back anyway (6-month rule, enforceable by airlines if not by Thailand). The question is whether a visa stamp transferred on the emergency passport is any good when I come back. If not I get 30 days and take it from there. Or better still, do the LTR, for which I qualify. Do the LTR online from Europe and come to collect it in October, that would be ideal.
the 6 moths is not valid if you fly direct home to your passport country!

Even if they check the CCTV, you only will see the naive Thai person on the CCTV who opened the bank account for the scammer.
The scammer would probably never been seen on the footage. And even you could see his face, he is probably already outside Thailand again. He only needs a few naive Thais to open Bank accounts for him and that's all. After that when he receives the money, he will transfer the money to his personal account or other places to hide where the money is going at the end.

You should get extension straight away if possible.
Any permission of stay stamp in "old pp" remains valid even when new pp issued.
BTW when does current pp expire.
You can get an extension right away?.. this is not only possible 10 or 14 days before actual permit run out?

I think if your immigration is easy to reach for you, then single re-entry is better when you leave country less than 4 times per year.
I buy most multi re-entry, because I don't want to go to Immigration of Chaeng Wattana (Bangkok) as you are always losing almost half a day with traffic and everything. So even I leave country only 2 times per year, it's worth to buy at extension right away the multi re-entry for me.When doing extension, I know about how many times I want to leave (more or less). Could of course be more (or in case of year 2020 much less).

Thank you everyone for your replies. In spite of the Retirement Visa having fewer documents, we'll carry on with the Marriage Visa for Year 40. Leaving 800,000 Baht in an account earning so little interest is silly, in my opinion. The 400,000 Baht difference is better off being in gold thanks to the mess Joe Biden has created. Besides, the additional documentation isn't onerous, and we'd still have to travel the 130 kms. to Immigration there and back twice anyway. At the old office the return journey was 150 kms.
You can put your 800'000 in a time deposit, which will give about 1.5% interest at the moment. It's still not a very high interest, but at least not that bad, as in a saving account. Check with your Immigration office which they accept. But most should accept Time deposit accounts (As you can take out your money at any time, maybe with loss of interest).

What I see, he always go to the wording low carb high fat. In Keto or low carb I never saw that you are allowed to eat hamburgers (Burger King, McDonalds) which he used as example.. or his fatty box.
So I guess this video is little bit different to what I understand in low carb food!
My food (low carb) is never fatty.. and always have salad or vegetables.

In Bangkok, I never had to show a new CR22. I still use the same copy from the first one. But I asked about to change to retirement next year, and the officer told me, that for this they need a new CR22, and wife also have to come for the first time when changing married to retirement extension.
The main reason for me to change to retirement will be, that I don't have this 30 day under consideration period.
One more point could be, that in case of divorce or death of your wife, your extension is still valid with retirement. with a marriage extension, I think you have to think about this visa process very fast. Especially in case of death, I can think of many other things to think about than to go to immigration to renew my extension.

I had exactly the same problem. As the Laptop was still under warranty, Microsoft shipped a new one to my Thai address. I still have the old one with the broken battery. Everything was free of charge.
I needed a few phone calls and some email conversation with Microsoft, including pictures of the damaged laptop. But I was very surprised how easy and smooth everything went on.

April thailand and Cigna
I would not take the Thailand one of April. Better use the International.
About pacific cross (increase of premiums after claim) was the main reason I not chosen that one.As they can increase premiums 20% after a bigger claim. And I not found information, if this increase can happen only once or multiple times.

If you go before your birthday, then you will lose 1 year of your new driver license. But you can renew your license of course before.
Another idea. You do your license 1 day after your birthday, and not use the car till you have the new license! If you need the car, then do it before your birthday!

I was told foreigners shouldn't file online. Also, the Form 90 is completely in English. And what do you do with required supporting documents such as the bank paper statements? Can you access online versions of the forms?
I scan my paper documents from the bank and upload them as PDFs at the end.
I have now done online tax returns for 4 years.

You don't need to travel to the tax office.
It can be filled out online completely. The only downside it's in Thai, and the first time you need probably some help (Even some tax office will help).
But when you have done it one time, the next year you can use your old version to check what you have to click. it's done in about 10 minutes online. if you fluent in reading Thai even much faster.

Good idea!
This will not work. Maybe even backfire.
I would first try to understand what exactly happened! why Brother-in-law start the fire in the first place?

From the App K-Bank I like most. Krungthai is good when you have to pay tickets (Fines) or when you receive tax-returns.
Bangkok bank I personally not like (not mean a bad bank).I have Omsin (GSB), L&H and Citibank (which will soon UOB) which are OK. But their app are not that good as the other 2.
At the end I think it most depends on the branch you use and what person you become when you are at the bank branch.
I mostly use branches in shopping centers, as this are open on weekends as well. -

Yes, your Thai need to have additional another passport, or have to be included in your cigna policy, then It would work.

PS: But the bounty idea looks appealing - there're so many farangs willing to do exactly this kind of "volunteering job" )
If you give 500 baht per found person, I think many Thais would be happy to do the Job. The first few months, this would be a nice earner. Foreigners couldn't do the Job... Thai reserved earner...

Or those lead by the nose by a Thai girl.
I have asked this question before, who has ever aspired to retiring to rural Thailand before coming to Thailand and meeting a Thai lady?
It really is laughable.
Actually, I have a friend, who really want to come to Thailand and not like tourist areas or big cities... He is looking into some less populated areas. Not everybody is the same of what they desire. For me, it would be a nightmare to be in a location like that for more than a few days. But luckily different people have different needs.
Strange, back in my home country I lived in a rural area, and never wanted to live in a bigger city. But here it's the opposite!
Best Buffet for special birthday
in Chiang Mai
Sorry, I was assuming BKK when I read the Shangri-La... sorry.
But sometimes It would help to tell the location in the text itself. As I was not checking the forum path...
