looks like the police are cuming down hard regarding this case(s) & will be handing job out stiff sentences, after getting them up into the courts.

I do not understand why these " muse": are not given some sort of sea to help track down the drug value chain.. most of them are not hard core folks but poor folks who see the opportunity of money.... although solidly against drugs i do think that cutting these folks a deal every so often to get the downstream dealers would be better in the overall drugs war.. in fact if it was known that favourable treatment may result for those mules who help police and the narcs go downstream and catch the dealers and break up distribution networks then Thailand could be seen as a less favourable place to try and import drugs into.

Because I don't think the police here (Thailand) are skilled enough to follow through. They are just cleaver enough to stop the ones they get direct tip-offs on from other international sources.

Starbucks is a Multi-BILLION Dollar Company, serving hundreds of thousands of Coffees a DAY, worldwide - they are obviously doing a LOT right.

However on Threads like this dozens of know-it-all TEFLERS and other hand-to-mouth denizens of Thailand suddenly spring out of the bushes and explain / complain that Starbucks is selling a rubbish Product and of course - by implication - THEY could do better.

Clearly by saying you know a lot about coffee, and Starbucks tastes like cats piss, then perhaps you may be a little fibber. Can't say I have drunk cats piss myself, but don't mind the coffee. Not a Hi-So never have been. I am in Singapore now anyway, perhaps the beans are better here and the dregs go to Thailand?

Because it has such a good customer base, I thought it may have been just a bad day for Starbucks when I tried it so trying again because I presumed I might be wrong. Tried it in different towns and countries, because I thought I may be wrong. But no my conclusion is:

Starbucks coffee seems to be made from cheap under ripe beans that are over roasted, this I feel produces a coffee with a bad after taste (I don't mean after you have finished the cup I am referring to the taste in the mouth after every mouthful)

I have not tasted actual cats piss as this is just an expression in the English language.

Have you ever smelt a "tom cat" laying down his scent? well that smell is a pungent and slightly bitter smell that translates to the taste.

A smell is often the same or very similar to the taste. It is to me certainly.

Thai people say Durian smells bad but tastes good but to me the smell is exactly the same as the taste.

I cant imagine you have not heard of the expressions "Cats Piss" Squirrel Piss" all derogatory terms given (often bad beer) to an unsavory and lingering bad bitter or musky after tasting drink?

I can only presume you are not English and have not heard of these terms being used, so I would recommend you look this up (do some research) before slagging me with your "on the defense" comments.

Yes I do know about coffee we buy the very best Colombian coffee beans directly from the beneficios and we roast and blend the beans in house.

And if they had have been racing Ferraris through the streets, and killed, rather than injured, a policeman, they would have nothing to fear. By all means, lock these morons up, but please apply a proportional punishment to a far more serious crime. And 37 motorcycles confiscated? I don't remember any reports of the Ferrari in question being confiscated. Anyone hear any different?

I have set up several internet news alerts on the Red Bull/ Ferrari incident and the last one that came in said police prosecutors were angry he had appeared to have evaded justice by staying in Singapore and they thought his excuses were false.

That was about a month ago so I can only guess now that the police complainants have now received the final payments in cash already.

So yes these young kids having a bit of fun and being treated like criminals is quite a contrast. The police should treat them a bit better and perhaps arrange some legal racing on a closed track or road for them, where they can let of a few pent up hormones. (after weeding out the really nasty ones of course for some community service)

Sure, they are selling plenty for their $5 or $6 cup of coffee, amongst those being image, environs etc which add a touch of 'luxury' to every day life. That it is accompanied by 650ml of coffee flavoured milk is beside the point.

I have to say that the lack of legislation in the realms of fair trading in this country needs addressing. If you wanted to open a fish and chip shop in the UK you would need to be a certain distance from an established fish and chip shop before you could even apply, and rightly so. What is fair about spending years building up a successful concern for someone to do the same next door. Here you could come up with a great product to sell, invest your savings and BOOM you have 5 shops opening up on your doorstep. The place is just a disorganized jumble sale as it stands.

And that's why Thailand's economy is "boom"ing (even despite cheats at the top running the country) life is actually good here.

The UK economy sucks and life in the UK is horrible.
