Thanks, carry on the plane best but I will be over weight. Excess baggage for 30 kg is around £1200 or £600 if booked in advance. Also I have to get it to the airport.
Post office is between £150 and £400 for 20 kg maximum.
There are two firms that will collect and deliver a suitcase up to 30kg for around £230.
Sea freight was stupid, B26,000 plus £500 in UK - think a full container is only a bit more.
Hope this information helps others.

Any recommendations for a company in Chiang Mai that can pack some personal possessions and arrange for it to be sent by air to the UK?
Probably only be 2 or 3 boxes of stuff , maybe 100Kg, but all the sites I find using Google seem to be commercial (lots of stuff) and mostly want to send it by sea.

OK, so not me being stupid you can not transfer out of a fixed deposit account using the Bangkok bank website. Thanks for the confirmation.
My interest is always added to the fixed deposit account when it renews.
Yes, I could phone them but I do not like phoning Thai call centres (actually any call centre) and also suspect it can not be done by phone either.

Is is possible to transfer money from a Bangkok Bank Fixed deposit account to another Bangkok Bank savings account using their website?
I want to transfer the interest earned this year into my savings account but can not find anyway to do it on the website.
As I'm in the UK I can not go to the branch, difficult to phone them and I can not make the app work. Only their website is available to me.

Thanks KhunBENQ -
With KrungThai I can not register for online banking with the mobile app - and they have closed their web based internet banking.
Bankgok bank says turn off WiFi, but using mobile data they can not recognize my phone number. Probably because I use an eSIM that does not have a phone number and goes via HongKong or else I use my UK data. I don't have data in Thailand as I never need it, except (it seems) for BKK bank app. At least their web based banking still works.

Has anyone with a beard managed to register for online banking when photo recognition is required?
With KrungThai I get nothing but "Can't see your chin" and "Can't see your mouth". I assume the problem is the beard. Since KTB do not have a website to do banking and I can not get their app to work I plan on closing the account.
Except that will take too long in the bank so I'll just run the account down to B10 and they can close it for me.

I got it at cm hospital, I think it was 150฿. In and out in less than 15 minutes. Didn’t even see a doctor or a nurse, just a bp check and handed me the certificate.
Maybe because I am too old but at 108 Clinic I had to see a doctor and that took a little over 1 hour and cost B300 for the Dr and B60 for the certificate.
But do love their self service blood pressure machines - better than anything I have seen elsewhere.

Klaimor hospital on Hang Dong road is good for the medical certificate but inconvenient for me.
Is there any hospital in T. Suthep that is as easy and as cheap to use?
Suan Dok probably does but it is such a warren it's probably quicker to go to Klaimor!
Also, can anyone confirm that Foreigners do not need an appointment at Hang Dong?

Stay with Quicken - only problem in Windows 10 is that the window opens blank, you have to change the window size to see all the details. Quicken works in multiple currencies, nothing else I tried does that satisfactorily.
If Microsoft finally breaks quicken it will work on a Virtual machine - there are at least 2 that are free and you can install WinXP and everything works fine.

Just as a reminder for some people:
Done a visa conversion, visa free entry to Non O, you must have two copies of everything, that is:
Passport photo page
Last entry stamp
Yellow "tabian Ban" Book or rental agreement etc
Letter from the bank
Bank statement (if money is new to the country)
Completed form TM87 (And photo, forgot mine!)
TM30
Arrived about 2pm, left around 4pm. Under consideration to return exactly 21 days later in the afternoon.

I'm following the same route.
My wife was my dependent on my retirement visa. To do the same again I am told that we must get a visa before entering Thailand. This visa can (maybe) have my wife as dependant but it seems this visa will be a non-OA and will need medical insurance. Difficult at my age.
Doing a visa conversion from a visa free entry, or a tourist visa, in country and you can not have your wife as a dependent. You have to get a retirement visa each, I.e. you both have the 800,000 baht in the bank on the day of applying for a conversion to a non-O visa. And your wife must transfer the money from her account to her sole account in Thailand . No joint accounts.
I'm ok for myself as I have the 800K in my account. Appears my wife will have to transfer to her account in Thailand, luckily we had opened such an account before covid.
I might be wrong but I have been following things for the last year.
One thing has changed. If you enter on a visa free 30 day entry and you must get to immigration with 21 days remaining that is a rush. But immigration will give you a 30 day extension on your visa free entry, so you have 38 days to sort things things out and still apply with 21 days left on your stay.
Activate Windows.
in IT and Computers
Interesting, used this to activate a corporate version of office 2013 and it worked. Putting in a purchased code had previously not worked.
