Problem I found is after learning to read Thai most of the places teaching Thai language insisted on my then using phonetics - totally pointless if you have learnt your Thai letters.

I might be wrong, my Thai is not that good, but it seems that the 27th November is the last day for applications - that is this Thursday.
Seems very early, normally applications close end of December. Also a close on Thursday seems strange so I could easily be wrong.

Seems classic shell is not being actively developed, has been taken over by Open Shell, but my version still calls itself Classic Shell and still automatically updates when Windows 10 breaks the system.
Using it means there are no blocks etc and you can find the likes of control panel on the start button.
You can save all the settings you have applied before re-install of windows 10 then it is easy to keep it the way you want it.

Money in the bank if you die, make sure your spouse has your internet access details and shifts it out before notifying the bank. Actually probably shift the money and never notify the bank.
I would love to hear from someone who has had a spouse die and was using the dependent visa - what was immigration's reaction?

Classic start shell works just fine n Windows 10 and very customizable to make it look and feel just as you want - mine looks like Win XP!

You can go up Malaysia either on the West or East side. I've done the West stopping in Penang but would like to try the East Jungle route. Enters Thailand in the 'troubled' area but if you are only passing through should be OK.
Train doesn't go through Malacca but agree it is well worth a detour.

Do you need to surrender the paper driving licence when you make a photocard licence application?
Yes - or at least it stops being valid.

This should be the same for other banks too I presume?
Yes, assuming you need a one time code that is sent by SMS.

Make sure your Thai SIM is set up for international use, otherwise it will not work outside of Thailand - and you can not (I believe) make a change to the SIM whilst outside of Thailand!

Reading all of this it seems everyone is travelling on their own, or with someone they do not wish to talk to.
Two people travelling together on Finnair and you have seating that means you can not see let alone talk to each other. Similar with other airlines.
Emirates do have a few seats that are "two together" in the middle but they do sell out fast. Got the last one out of Manchester last month for a flight in October!

If this is a new sticker go as soon as they open. They issue the stickers in order of application and you can not use the road until you have the sticker. So go early November and you get your sticker in January, wait until late December it could be mid March.

Seen some in The Lost Book Shop. 7.11 have them also but can be quiet exspensive there as there is a heavy tax on them,
Not sure that 30 Baht per 100 cards is a heavy tax?
And you can have 120 cards without tax having been paid, but you can not sell them.
That is according to the 1943 law.

Petition on the parliament web site calling for the government to " Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU. "
Any chance it can reach the 17.4 million to challenge the referendum vote?
edit
Oops, sorry about the link, not sure how to break it?

No - RD can only make prompt pay to a Thai ID number and not a telephone number.
-
But no radio channels ie 5 live - useless for me.

Chivas, bit of a mistake on my part, mixed up one and two passengers.
Seat booking £23 per leg per passenger, this is Man-DBX-BKK on emirates business class. Free on Emirates web site.
But whilst checking note that they say only one piece of baggage up to 40Kg - that is over the airports maximum of 32Kg
Checking all the details this company is 2% cheaper than the airline, but with more risk of extra charges - not worth the savings.
The travel company? Opodo.
-
You do have to read the terms and conditions - all xx pages of them
Just looked at one agent who's fare was £200 or so cheaper than with the airline.
But seat booking was over £200, free with the airline.
All alterations was the airline fee plus £75
Plus you had to re-confirm 72 hours prior to every flight - not needed with the airline.

I have my 800K on fixed deposit and have internet access. My wife has her own account.
Since she knows the internet codes she can transfer the money to her account at any time - we just lose the year to date interest on the fixed deposit. This is with Bangkok Bank.
I asked the immigration officer about my wife having her own visa in Chiang Mai in January, whilst she was surprised about why she did understand the reason. Provided my wife has the 800K in her account for 3 (now 2?) months before renewal then she can move from dependant to her own visa immediately.
However, I read somewhere that the new regulations are covering this situation in some way still to be clarified.
As far as a joint account Chiang Mai stopped accepting them a few years ago.

Logitech cordless - logitech battery life is very good, once a year or so for regular batteries, the MX Master recharges very fast and last a few months.
My experience of other makes is you have to replace/recharge the battery far to often - and always when you are in the middle of something important.

I'd like to access BBC occasionally - not enough to purchase a VPN.
But I have an internet connection in the UK and the modem is always on so I can watch my garden grow using the security cameras.
How possible is it to use that as a VPN?

I have PromptPay with Bangkok Bank - I am under the impression it works with all banks and anyone who wants payments made through that system.
Sounds like Income tax is using a special thing through Krungthai bank.
-
So Prompt Pay and Prompt Card may sound the same but they are not actually the same thing?
Waiting for my letter, due any time now.
-
I applied for my refund last month as was told I would get a letter that I take to Krungthai bank who will give me a card to withdraw the money from the ATM. Does sound a little convoluted ......................
I actually have got Prompt Pay but the person at the office said I could not use it - I think because she said only Khun Thai could have prompt pay!

Thanks for the comments.
Yes, I re-installed a couple of time when putting in a SSD disc, and I think I used the original, pre-activated Windows.
I'll do it all again ................... when I have time. Mind the SSD makes the install Much Much faster.
