That is a really strange statement. Why on earth would you single out huskies? I own two 3 yo huskies, and while they are excellent with people, I would never dream of leaving them alone with an infant. Huskies are beautiful animals, but they are working dogs and should always be recognised as that as they have maintained an extremely high prey drive. A squealing child would likely sent them off, even the most placid of them.

Back home in my native country, a friends wife had had a child; the child was a couple of months old. The mother was in the kitchen and the child was sleeping in its pram when they heard barking and snarling. The pet toy poodle had managed to climb onto the pram and was trying to get to the bady through the covers. It was put down to a jealousy rage from the dog. Last thing it ever did, never made it out of the room.

NO child should ever be left unattended, even for a minute, with any dog, period. It is never worth the risk and until parents realise this, these tragic incidents will continue to happen.

RIP Little child. That dog is clearly NOT a purebred Labrador Retreiver. It looks like a mix between a Lab and a Doberman. Labs are retreivers who "mouth" the masters bird or duck ot whatever it is retrieving. They are one of the gentlest breeds. The owners are responsible for this and they have already paid a very high price.

The deet had completely dissolved the container I tried putting it in! Melted it completely leaving only the hard plastic pump and the bag...

q bar is 12 years old i just confirmed on the web, jesus i remember when they opened as a "new york" cigar lounge, they had no intention of being the nightclub they became, but the punters forced it. within a month they had changed the format and upgraded the sound system.

it was coming down at 25 an hour ago and now it sits around 15, seems to be improving, but slowly.

Believe it or not there is much more to Thailand than seedy bars which find it necessary to Post such signs, and my "pretensions", if that they be, have enabled me to greatly enjoy my time here whilst, in the main, avoiding the company of low life Farang (or Thais for that matter).

Ofcourse you're right in the case of the professional women. But the real question to be asked is why would a bar feel the need to show a sign like that. The answer i'm fairly sure is that they are totally fed up with their bar being used as a point of business for freelance hookers to get to work on the bars customers.

i don't find anything offensive about the sign at all. Its just a sad reflection of the way things are.

I feel very sorry for other thai women but unfortunately its the powers that be in their country that has allowed such a situation to arise.

i have explained twice in this thread why the bar (if it is cheap charlies) has that sign up. The property owners set the policy and insisted the proprietor of cheap charlies moderate his clientele.

In this day and age, it is advisable not to become involved with Thai women or treat with extreme caution.

Why? There are a million reasons and this has been one of them.

Thailand has become extremely commercialised, and the society as a whole much more affluent than it used to be and the women can be a lot more independent in liberal minded Thailand.

Thai attitudes towards relationships have changed dramatically over the years, no longer are the women the loyal, subservient little Thai princesses as most often they are portrayed in the West and the Western guys are led to believe.

My advice is: treat with caution and don`t fall head over heals over a cute smile and perhaps after one night of passion, because the times, they are a changing.
