If so, the time definitively has come to spend the money in another country. Malaysia gives 90-day visa-free entry. All South American countries: visa-free entry for 3 months. And one thing more: My Thai wife got permanent residency in Switzerland, while I as a husband of a Thai wife have to apply for visa when I want to enter the country longer then 30 days. My Thai wife can legally work in Switzerland, she doesn't even need a work permit, while I am prohibited to work legally in Thailand. Where is reprocicity here? The regulations in Europe are much more foreigner-friendly then in Thailand.
Regarding US citizens in South America, Brazil requires a visa and Chile and Argentina charge, though you don't need a visa. Paraguay requires a visa as well.
I was not speaking about US citizens, but about EU and other European countries. Brazil and the other countries will have reasons when they demand a visa from US citizens.

The longer Suthep and his gang make manifestations, the more goes down the Thai Baht. Just look at the last 2 weeks.

It seems that nobody here knows the origin of the word farang or falang. Its origin is from the French colonial rule in Laos and Vietnam, which where French, Français in French. The word farang / falang has its origin in Français.
-
Thai Baht actually strengtening? Not true at all, just look at the exchange rates since Oct. Constantly loosing, and this will continue as long as the politic desaster goes on. Suthep and his gang are damaging seriously the welfare of this country.

When I watch Suthep at the TV he reminds me always of Hitler.

Suthep wants dictatorship, that's why he refuses new elections. His "people's council" will be a handful of his gang. He should go to jail, not outline Thailand's future. He is accused of treachery and multiple murder, Abisith too.

Put them both in the Bangkok Hilton, and there will be peace in Thailand. They are the least what the country deserves.
-
Drink beer LAO, it's much better.
-
Absolutely right! Suthep and his right-wing gang will not resolve anything, but make the situation much more bad.
-
Now it is clear. The anti-democratic protest leader Suthep - wanted for treasery and murder - makes common things with the army, it is a hidden coup by the army. He refuses new elections because it's clear that they will loose. Suthep and his gang bring dark days to Thailand's future, without democracy. Whyle other countries in the area step forwards, Thailand goes back to dictatorship and may be military rule. Bad for the economy, bad for tourism, bad for the currency, bad for the Thai people.

Thai Hitler Suthep wants to eridicate democracy.
-
Incredible what Suthep and his right-wingers are demanding: an elected government to step down and refusing new elections. Never seen this in any democratic country in the West. His so-called "people council" will mainly consist of himself and his fellows, to contrary of people's power, preparing for dictatorship and maybe military coup as well. Thailand has dark years ahead.

One more Thai driver who doesn't respect road laws, even abroad. He mistook the Malaysian highway (high standard, seperate lines) as a racecourse and now faces Malaysian justice. Right so. May the innocent motorcycle driver rest in peace.

My advice to the protesters is to keep marching...
Marching right in desaster and anarchy which will end with right-wing / yellowshirt dictatorship. Suthep refuses elections, so he is not a democrat. While other countries in SE Asia march forward, Thailand goes backwards.
-
Whyle other countries in the region go forward, Thailand goes backwards, to dictatorship.

This listing is US bullshit. No European would come to the idea to retire in Panama. Forbes is an US magazine, not reflecting the preferences of Europeans. The list would look totally different.
-
Some countries now get again a 30-day visa-exempt entry at land borders, e.g. Germany, Italy, Japan. Does anyone have the complete list of these countries?

Good advertising for Thailand, once again. And what does TAT?
-
I speak fluently 6 languages, German, French, Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese. I have some knowledge in 3 others, Serbo-Croatish, Indonesian / Malay and Russian. But with the Thai language I have a problem, I know some basic expressions and key words. Why? Thai is not easy to learn, because of writing, intonation etc.

Another step to chase away farangs from Thailand. Much more easy in Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos.

Stunning that Yingluck's government is brutally shooting dead these peaceful protesters, even more stunning in light of the continuous bleating since 2010 of the same accusation. She has totally lost any moral high ground(not that she ever had any IMO) she may have once had now that she has ordered her gunmen to open fire. History shows that a sitting PM opining fire on peaceful protesters does not last long in office, since they are forever tainted with blood on their hands.
Very one-sided view and wrong. Yingluk's government came to power with elections. In comparison with the precedent government she handles the violent protests carefully, using teargas and rubber bullets only, while Suthep and Abisith used firearms in 2010, causing more then 90 deaths. Suthep and Abisith are charged with multiple murder. Suthep, the actual opposition leader, is just a criminal, as Abisith too, both not respecting the laws and democracy.

The true goal of Sutep and Abisith is eliminating the elected government (they say it openly) and to establish a right-wing / royalist yellow-shirt dictatorship without parliament and democracy, if necessary with the assistance of the military forces. That's why they refuse new elections (because they know they will loose the elections).

Chiang Rai is the place to go. Less foreigners, more relaxed, not so polluted. Cheaper.
