Respecting human rights abroad? How this can be true if they not respect basic human rights in the own country? Slave labour on fishing ships, abuse and murder of refugees, forced prostitution. All in Thailand. Please clean before your own door first.

The best is to deport him to the US and ban 10 years for entry.

" The DSI also found that at least 12 people died as a result of the actions of members of the red shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD). However, Mr Tarit said that investigators could not yet determine who was responsible for the other 52 deaths."
Stop drinking the red KoolAid, it rots your brain.
Stop publishing lies of the government propaganda.

Why do you continually post false figures re 2010? The investigation by Tarit, with all associated bias, concluded 12 people were killed by the red/black shirts and 53 deaths were were deemed inconclusive.
Where from you have you the certainty that they where killed by the red shirts? The black shirts were agents provocateur from the government and the yellow shirts, meaning ordered killers.

The legal system in Thailand may be 'different' from many other countries, but arresting someone because there is a suspicion that the person may abscond doesn't cut it, even in Thailand.
Does Thailand have a legal system which merits the name? I would say no, just look at the Ko Tao murders and other scandals about dead or killed tourists.

Because we respect human rights and democracy, former Prime Minister of Thailand Yingluck Sinawathra will fullfill all criterias for getting political asylum in Switzerland. Welcome!

This whole escape thing is a sad joke, as almost all of us here think. But I also wonder if/when Thaksin and Yingluck will be able to return to Thailand. Even if a party sympathetic to them wins the next general elections (which is no certainty anymore), it won't be easy for them to go back, as they (especially Thaksin) have garnered so much hatred among many people in Thailand.
My guess is, they will return.......but only after an amnesty is decided upon.....and this will occur only MANY MANY years later.
Things suddenly can become very quick. The ruling junta gained power with military force, eliminating a democratically elected government. The power of the junta is based on violence and arms, not on the people's will. History shows that this cannot last for long because the junta is not able to increase the living standard of the normal Thais, not only rice farmers, just look at the minimum wage salary and the living cost. So the social unrest will explode again earlier or later, just a question of time.

Democratically elected Prime Ministers end up as political refugees. This is the rule in Thailand. Thailand is far far away from any form of democracy. Welcome to Switzerland, we love democracy and we are the oldest democracy in the world. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/1435383/How-direct-democracy-makes-Switzerland-a-better-place.html

1. They are not made in Thailand. They are made in Berlin, Germany. Hence the import tax.
2. Cool is not the word i would use to describe a modern large GS. Maybe the first gen air cooled 800/1000, yes.
3. Just some of the words and descriptions i would use to describe the current range of large GS models, inc all 3 picture above would perhaps be;
overweight
over complicated
over priced (anywhere)
expensive to run (maintenance/ dealer service)
and finally, goddam ugly.
As I see you do not understand anything about modern motorbikes. Not expensive to run, low maintenance cost, not overpriced (in Thailand yes), not complicated, very reliable, no overweight, very handy. Good for travels from Europe to Asia or around the world.

Your attempt to dodge the question is noted. Can you as a European gain visa free access to say Australia or New Zealand ?
Name the all the countries whose citizens , you claim, can gain visa free access to the Schengen area. Is the list as long as Thailands?
As you seem to have a dislike of Thailand I suggest you stay well away !
You should read my previous posts before answering in an offensive way.

Ok -- Tell me about other Western countries which do not have "stupid" laws associated with tourists. Which of them can be entered either with a visa exempt or visa on arrival by almost anyone?
Tourists of many countries can enter Europe / Schengen without a visa and can stay up to 3 months. Even Thais can come to Europe und move freely between countries in the Schengen countries, but they need a visa, valid 3 months. The sister of my wife has been here several times. Several nationalities outside from Europe can enter Schengen countries without visa, e.g. Brazil, Argentina. That's why Thai laws about visas and immigration are stupid. They not want people who spend money they prefer Chinese and Russians who work illegally in the country.

Can tourists access the USA without having to navigate stupid laws? (The answer in case you are shy --is NO)
I am not interested in Trump country. I spend my money elsewhere.

One thing that hasn't yet been brought up in discussion, or within the government, is that there are different types of tourists. There are your ordinary tourists, who spend 1 to 2 weeks . They don't need a visa. Then the ones who travel around Asia more, and use the SETV visa. But there are a lot more tourists who spend their winters here in Thailand, 3/4/5 months, getting away from the cold winters back home. Most of these are over 60, pensioners for the most part, have plenty of money to rent a nice condo, play golf and eat out every evening . They do not need an METV, and find it sometimes difficult to take border runs. Nothing in the way of visas are provided for them. Shame, as I think these are exactly the kind of " tourist" that the government wants, and needs.
Exactly, I am one of them. I travel every winter to South-east Asia and visit several countries. I visit also the family of my Thai wife, but I never make a visa. Stay 30 days, go to another country and come back. But now they changed again the laws, 2 entries over land per year, which complicates the travel planning. My wife is from Khon Kaen, Isaan, so it is not far to Laos, easily done over land, faster then by plane. Stupid laws, so I must spend more money on flights or stay less in Thailand. My budget is 3000 UDS per month, so I am a quality tourist. Thai immigration and TAT are blind.

If someone finds a thing in Switzerland, the finder can ask for 15% of the value of the found object, not more. But most people ask not for it. But the finder cannot keep the found object, he has to deposit it in a police station or lost and found station.

Is it enough when I carry 10'000 USD in TC and having 2 credit cards? And a few 1000 Baht in cash? Or should I spend my money in Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia? Countries with much less hassles against quality tourists.

Sounds to me more like a case of the USD rising against all other currencies rather than an across-the-board fall in the THB's value.
Regardless of whether or not the Fed decide to increase US interest rates, the jolly old GBP will doubtless still continue on its downward plunge towards parity with the THB in the run-up to Brexit.
The USD is falling against the Swiss Franc CHF. Actual exchange rate 1 USD = 0.96 CHF. It has been even lower a year ago.

When I am in Thailand, I bring my own muesli and prepare it with local yoghurt and milk and some fruits. Muesli sold in Thailand is of low quality and only available in tourist places. When on travels, I normally eat fried or poaked eggs with toast, mostly the only thing which is available in hotels, except Thai breakfast with rice etc. which I never eat in the morning. Coffee: instant coffee from Nestle, always available in 7/11. Good quality. Locally brewed coffee is often not drinkable, to few coffee and too much sugar-milk. In some cities there are quite good bakeries, e.g. Chiang Mai, with good sweets and acceptable bread. In small towns not available.

Thai Baht THB a strong currency? Not even the USD is a strong currency. There is only one strong currency, the Swiss Franc CHF, stronger the USD and EUR.
