  1. When my wife was a little girl she and her twin sister got their hands whacked every week for not having the right shoes on. The family was too poor to buy them. Looks like not much has changed.
  2. The girls speak English. I was in a club with my wife one time and the girls were hitting on me while I was sitting there with my arm around her. I think it's a fun place but Pork Adobo is the best they can do? Jeesh
  3. There is no tourism issue TAT can't statistically fix overnight
  4. I owned an Aerox and it was never close to the PCX. The resale value should steer one away alone. It wasn't a bad bike just not in the same class. I'd recommend a 160 Click over an Aerox.
  5. There is a significant difference in performance when we're on together.
  6. Interesting that Honda still offers the non-ABS version, at least here in Thailand.
  7. Suppose to help in a skid. If you lock up your brakes you lose control. ABS will intermittently apply the brakes allowing extreme braking with control.
  8. 10cc but it's also has 4 valves instead of 2. 20% more horsepower and torque, more compression. It's a more refined engine. ABS on this model. Dash is better, easier to read. All subtle evolutionary changes that add up to better PCX. Single channel front only. I'm not sure ABS is worth it. Brakes seem to be fine on previous models. New model is also not combi-brake which I thought was a good feature on older bikes. I let others debate if ABS belongs on a scooter.
  9. I sold 2019 Hybrid for 80K and bought this for 100k. 10000 a year to drive a new bike every two years. Seems reasonable. I like the idea of always driving the new model, especially for 10k a year. The best thing financially is to drive the thing into the ground. Some people don't care about shiny new toys. I wonder what you'd think of this new model? It's pretty sweet. I think you'd be impressed. The Honda PCX and Click are going to hold their value. How long would a PCX last here? 70k? I have no idea
  10. I caught it and redid the page but that version is going to stay up for awhile. I did note the corrections in the Youtube notes. Thanks
  11. Our Youtube review of the new Honda PCX 160. It's an evolutionary change in the PCX which we found all positive. The PCX was always the best in class, now it's better! The New Honda 2022 PCX 160 Review
  12. I've always felt that I was in the best country in the world for handling covid. Thais wear masks. The get inoculated if they can. There isn't any of this antivaxxer nonsense. Prayuth has done a great job of leading Thailand through this. But you guys... This was a pretty good setup for the haters. Really, the hatred on the forum is amazing. Yeah, let's let Yingluck run the country again. The last democratically elected PM ran the country into anarchy. She was a moron. I see no viable alternative to the current government that's doing an incredible job. I just imagine most of you rolling onto your computers after another night of overindulgence and unloading on Thailand and everything else under the sun with more vitriol than a normal pre-alzhimer should have. Some of you need help.
  13. I think of Cambodia as the wild west. The infrastructure is a big step down from Thailand. Cops are ridiculously corrupt. Siam Reap has few upscale restaurants, lots of poverty, and the place is pretty dirty. It is cheap.
  14. They demolished the illegal restaurants and clubs that had extended onto Surin and every other beach. Leveled them! Incredible! Took the end to end chairs off the beaches and put them into designated areas. Enforced the laws. Returned the beaches to the people of Thailand and the world. Sorry you never come back. It's much better now. We'll go on without you and many other foreigners, somehow. My biggest fear is you all come back. Just my opinion.
  15. I've lived in LOS for 12 years. When the Military took over they immediately made things better in Phuket by taking back the beaches from the corrupt orbotors and made everything better. Since then, I've been a big supporter of Prayuth. The Thai government had descended into anarchy under that corrupt idiot Yingluck. Life has only improved under the military for me. I can't think of one tiny bit of negative impact. How has it deteriorated? That's laughable. Who wants to go back to the anarchy we had under Yingluck? Thailand has never handled democracy well. I'll take it the way it is now. Vietnam? Tsk. The place you have to put your motorbike in your house every night so it won't get stolen. Don't even get me started about Vietnam cops. Very little to recommend about Vietnam. I've been going back every spring to the Algarve for a couple of months. Summertime is good time to head back to LOS when the Brits descend on the place.
  16. Every beer in LOS is fine. This thread certainly brought out the "I hate Thailand" crowd...as most threads tend to do. It's beer. Okay? Tsk
  17. The vitriol and piling on for this thread is amazing! Especially when you consider the whole story is sketchy. Tsk Maybe check Tripadvisor before you spend 1500 at a restaurant? So many great restaurants and you chose the one serving crayfish. I kinda hope after three trips here, this is your last? I suspect you got your money's worth whining about every possible thing. I mean after two trips the writing was on the wall. You don't like this place. "Lucky she only got robbed and assaulted." That's priceless. (tsk)
  18. 17000 Americans died in the last week of January. I get so sick of hearing that the Thai government is the worst for being sticklers about all these tests. I've always thought the Thai government has done an exceptional job handling the pandemic. 17000 in a week. Test everyone and then test them again. There should be no tourists
  19. I do have 45000 baht worth of credit with them. That's roundtrip for two to almost anywhere but... I don't want to go anywhere now. Six months from now, maybe. I hope I can get my credit extended beyond this year. I don't get the dumping on Thai Airways. I've always had positive experiences with the exception of the 45000 baht refund
  20. I was fully vaccinated and I'm 72. It could easily have gone much differently. 17,000 PEOPLE DIED IN THE US LAST WEEK!!! It should be up to 25k within a couple of weeks! It's a pandemic. Jesus wept...
  21. My wife and I recently had covid. It was like a bad head cold and fever similar to the flu. It wasn't good. We were both fully vaccinated. We tried to report that we had tested positive through three different methods, none of which we were able to contact anyone. We simply gave up! I believe that the pandemic is currently far worse than the published numbers indicate. How much worse? Pick a number. Ten times worse? It's not going to get any better anytime soon. It's time we end the pandemic? Right...good luck.
  22. I've always advised people never to buy anything here. I can't imagine a worse investment. There isn't a single person I know who owns and doesn't regret it. They're all stuck with no way out except a big loss. Management nightmares are common. Building are poorly constructed and deteriorate quickly. Two friends recently (coincidentally) were finally able to bail on properties that they'd had on the market literally for years. Both of them took a bath but are relieved to finally be able to get out. Rent. Rents are cheap and they're going to remain cheap for decades to come. The flexibility that renting offers overwhelms any argument to buy.
  23. I ended up just using wifi for the TV connection, so I didn't do anything. The tv was not near the router thus I wanted to use the PC's ethernet connection but in the end didn't need it. I don't really use the tv part of it. Thanks for everyone's input. I'm now using a Xiaomi Mi TV 43" P1 model as my computer monitor and it's working beyond my expectations. Great for watching NFL, NBA and movies. I scaled back to 2160p and it's perfect for 4k and using the browser.
