Nope. I got the money on my bank account on 31st October and updated the bank book the same day in Kasikorn Bank. I copied the whole bank book and took the original with me. That was all. The money wasn't seasoned. I have a child so I gave them the child's birth certificate and blue book to back up my visa application beside submittingmy marriage certificate and wife'sdocuments. Additionally, I gave them the KR 2 document that is normally not required. They took this all. I didn't have a letter from my bank. Hopefully, this helps.

Guys, the latest report from Savannakhet: I submitted the documentation for non-immigrant O visa based on marriage today at 9:15am. I also provided my child's birth certificate and copy of tabian ban as well as KR2 paper and it was taken by the immigration officer. When I said I would like to apply for one year non-immigrant O visa, she immediately said I needed financial requirements proved. She accepted the copies of my bank book and also had a detailed look at my original bank book. That was all. The money wasn't seasoned but was transfered to my bank account yesterday. I think I should receive my visa tomorrow and I not, I will inform you here.

Sure. Good luck!

I think he can but I guess it wouldn't be worth paying so much as he would need to travel quite a lot and he wouldn't do it for free. He is my neighbor and by surprise a very diligent guy when comparing with locals. He keeps his word and comes to help me if I need to move some heavy stuff around my house. He and his wife run a shop and he drives for Grab in the evenings but also has some private tours. I remember he once told me he preferred to drive longer trips but not the short ones in the city because driving in the city is a huge hassle for small money. If you are still interested, let me know here and I will send you a message as there is a direct message option on this forum. Three of us can meet online and you estimate if there is a value for you as well as for him.

There is a guy in my neighborhood. He lives in Nonthaburi. Send me a DM and I can connect two of you to check if you are compatible

Once you get a non-immigrant visa, you can apply for the WP based on that. Then every year when you are renewing your WP, you will get one year visa extension. I know this sounds weird but this is how it works. For example, I had a 3 months valid non-immigrant B visa and got a WP based on it. I didn't leave the country for 5 years as when my WP got renewed, my non-immigrant B 3 months valid visa got extended and this was taking for 5 years. Now I want to go out of the country and apply for non-immigrant O marriage visa and come back to Thailand and apply for the WP based on it.

Going there to apply on next Wednesday. Have all the docs ready. Married with Thai wife and have our child. Have 400 000k but not seasoned. Will apply for non-immigrant O marriage in order to apply for a work permit when I am back in Thailand. Will report back here once I am back. Just a question, if I don't get non-immigrant O one year visa but non-immigrant O 90 days, can I apply for the work permit on that one too?

Non-immigrant O visa and work permit

According to my knowledge, you need to cancel it in an immigration office in Thailand and then you leave the country. -
Non-immigrant O visa and work permit

... and I assume that if I choose the option of 60 days extension I can't apply for the work permit. Correct? I am asking this because I already have a new employer that wants me to start working on 1st November and he will have the WP documentation ready by then. -

Non-immigrant O visa and work permit
WebGuy replied to WebGuy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Am I not eligible to receive 3 months valid non-immigrant O visa based on the marriage with a Thai citizen and make a work permit based on it? We also have a child. Should I apply for non-immigrant O visa based on my child and apply for the WP based on it? What is the best option? -
Non-immigrant O visa and work permit
WebGuy replied to WebGuy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ehh I see. Thank you very much. So the only correct and safe way would be as follows: 1. To wait for my employer to cancel the WP on 31st October 2. To go to immigration to cancel my non-immigrant B visa on 31st October and to apply for 7 day extension 3. To travel to Laos on 1st November to submit the application for non-immigrant O visa If the steps above are correct, is there a possibility to avoid paying for 7 days extension and thus avoiding paying 1900thb but as soon as my visa gets cancelled, I immediately travel to Laos and across the border the very same day and then on 1st November apply for the non-immigrant O visa in Thai embassy there early in the morning? I can pay 1900thb for the 7 days extension but why would I do that if I don't have to ... also I can ask my employer we go together to cancel the WP and non-immigrant B visa together early morning on 31st October so I have enough time to across Thai boarder and arrive to Laos. -
Non-immigrant O visa and work permit
WebGuy replied to WebGuy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
After some research here I am back folks with another sub-question regarding this topic. By the way, I was in Changwatana immigration office by there is still one doubt I have. As stated earlier, my WP will be cancelled on 31st October by my employer and therefore my non-immigrant B visa will also be cancelled at the same day by default (if I understand correctly). My new employer will be able to have all the WP documents ready by beginning of November and I will apply for a non-immigrant O visa (based on marriage) in Laos. What I am thinking about now is to be a bit proactive and go to Laos and apply for non-immigrant O visa before my WP gets cancelled which will happen on 31st October. I am thinking to do the following: 1. Go to Laos on 24th October and apply for non-immigrant O visa 2. Come back to Thailand and have the non-immigrant O visa in my passport 3. At the beginning of November I am ready to apply for WP in Nonthaburi However, I have a following doubt. Once I leave Thailand for Laos on 24th October without a re-entry stamp, my non-immigrant B visa will be cancelled by default but my WP will still be valid. Is there a chance that Thai immigration in Laos will see that my WP is still active and reject my application for non-immigrant O visa so I will have to wait until my current employer cancells my WP on 31st October anyway? Thank you folks again. -

Non-immigrant O visa and work permit
WebGuy replied to WebGuy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thank you very much. I have had the WP for the last 5 years. Does it cover the financial requirements for applying for non-immigrant O based on marriage with my Thai wife and not leaving the country? -
Hi folks, Could you please tell me if I can apply for a work permit based on a non-immigrant O marriage visa? Currently I have a non-immigrant B visa and a WP and my company will cancel it on 31st December because this is when my business contract ends. I am aware that I must go to the immigration in Thailand to cancel my non-immigrant B visa and I plan to go out of Thailand and to apply for a non-immigrant O marriage visa based on my marriage with my Thai wife and come back to Thailand. My specific question would be if I find a company that would employ me and wants to make a WP for me, could I use my non-immigrant O marriage visa for this? Thank you very much in advance. Cheers!

Hello all, I got an employment offer from a company abroad. However, they don't have a subsidiary in Thailand and want me to register a company in Thailand so they can pay me the salary. They insist on registering a company here and to have a visa and WP so all the other options about registering a company in other countries are not an option. My annual income would be between 2 and 3 million THB so I am wondering what type of Thai company I should register for this purpose. I have been browsing and reading a plenty of company's websites that offer the type of service of company registration and realized the most common firm types are a Thai Limited Company and a partnership Company. I am not a US citizen so I can't fully own a firm but I am married with a Thai citizen so I assume I need 1m THB for the initial investment. Would you be so kind as to recommend what type of company I should register for my specific context which is just to run a company for the purpose of receiving salary from a company abroad? Thank you in advance.

If it's a desktop, make sure you have a high quality power supply. The high quality ones cost around 5 - 7k thb. Also the cooling fan should be of a high quality although the new generation CPUs shut down by themselves in case of overheating. If it's a laptop, I wouldn't because it is decreasing the lifespan of the device. Of course you can but the cooling should be good and especially here in Thailand.

Hi. My mother was here last month for three weeks and took all the drugs she uses daily and biweekly. She also took her prescriptions )not translated to English) with her in case someone stops her at the customs. No one stopped her. I intuitively think that no one would care about a small bag of personal drugs, unless it is something extreme (and I am sure they are trained well and capable of identifying the real stuff). In case they stop you, show the prescriptions and in my subtle opinion that's it.
