  1. According to requirements the one must show the equivalent of 7000 USD in a bank account for the preceding 6 months. Can this be a Thai bank? I have been living in Thailand for the last 4 years and altogether spent almost a decade here. I have nothing anywhere else. Which Embassies are usually happy to issue this type of visa around Thailand?
  2. I'm on Non-immigrant O extension. Married to a Thai woman. I have had 8 extensions with a break inbetween. Extension expires in November
  3. Due to changes in my circumstances, I will probably have to leave Thailand. Could you please explain how long a person can stay in Thailand on a tourist Visa and how often can a person come back? What are red flags when it comes to returning? Constructive comments are greatly appreciated.
  4. Defo went crazy. Bloody world is so sane ???? However, continuous consumption of krathom, weed and booze has fixed me. Bloody hell, the world has gone crazy.
  5. Just an update if anyone is interested. Managed to collect the detailed information on the Resident Permit application based on married to a Thai. The lady at the local immigration was very helpful and obtained the Thai version which is a few dozen-page long document regarding the necessary conditions, but, unfortunately, I can't apply. Theoretically, I can tick all the boxes and should be able to apply. However, the tax payment criteria I couldn't have met due to previous employer not processing my work permit correctly and not registering me for tax payments for this year. Therefore, they see it as a "break" in tax payments. NASTY!! The criteria is that the one should show continuous monthly tax payments for 3 consecutive years. And even if one month is missing, the application can't go ahead. I thought I could just pay more income tax on my secondary job. I had had two jobs in my work permit and the secondary job has never stopped but they simply ignore this fact, so this is a warning if anybody tries to go this route, they need to literally push an employer to pay taxes and process work permits on time. The funny thing is that no one is willing to help even though I have done everything by the books. The same is true for Thai citizenship application regarding the tax payments. I am considering hiring a lawyer and want to argue that my second job has never stopped and the reason why there is a break in my work permit history is that the previous employer had ignored the law regarding employing a foreigner.
  6. I think Lazada doesn't have English chat service and the they are open for phone calls in English between 9 am and 6pm. They don't offer this service on Sundays and on public holidays either. Moreover, they are completely useless sometimes. I call them every week as a Seller and it takes 30 to 60 mins to make them understand our case. Furthermore, they close our cases without any resolution. There isn't any willingness to support Sellers in any case.
  7. Wrong. That's what it looks like BUT as I am a Seller, and even if we rejected a refund, Shopee would overrule it Within 7 days, Shopee allows refunds regardless of what the Seller proves. I know there are terrible Sellers but I can't understand how Shopee sides with them. Having been selling on Shopee for 3 years, it's almost impossible to win against a Buyer. Unless the buyer didn't follow the procedure properly and missed the deadline. I have dozens of stories in which we clearly proved that the buyer was wrong and unreasonable and Shopee simply ignores us as if we didn't exist.
  8. Well, as a Seller on Shopee I have to disagree here. Shopee literally treats us like sh.t. Large number of buyers are terrible, lie, give bad and malicious reviews and Shopee doesn't offer any help to Sellers. Absolutely disgraceful. We call and chat with Shopee every day and, literally, we are at our wits end and now we have to consider closing our online shop.
  9. I have positive experience with melatonin. However, others may not experience the same effect Also, quality magnesium tablets are my favourite. (Not magnesium oxide)
  10. I don't need a fully equipped kitchen just a basic gas stove, a fridge and a microwave. I need good cooking oil, olive oil, lard, pork, fish, chicken, full fat coconut milk, butter, some nuts and seeds, avocado, some cheese, Greek yogurt and I'm good ????
  11. Thanks. I can't go for long term apart from the 30-60 day long tourist visas. Are there rooms with cooker? I like to make my own food. Are there any restrictions on how many cigs can the one take there through land borders? Are supermarkets stocked well?
  12. Sure. I reckon no re-entry permit needed as it's gonna be a new visa. But I believe things can get sorted out here.
  13. I'd prefer Cambodia. I don't care much about food, and I actually prefer cooking to eating out. I would need to get a long term, affordable rent. I am not picky and I can live frugally for a while. I am used to it as I come from a poor background. But renting is my biggest issue for suree. Also, I'd prefer land travel. Not sure if living in Savannakhet is possible. I have never been there.
  14. By the way, could anyone give me advice on which neighbouring country is the best to dwell for a while? I thought about Cambodia. Obviously, I would need a long term rent there, and a possible hassle free entry and stay. I live near to the border with Malaysia but I am not sure if it's a viable option.
  15. Apparently, the previous employer has (after months and months) prepared my documents so that I will be able to apply for a new work permit within days. This is a terrible thing that a previous employer can just hold someone in ransom and there is very little the one can do. And we all know that in Thailand the one must be VERY careful.
  16. Rather risky. I'd better sort things out amicably and legally. She's not a bad person but it's quite doubtful that she would want me to get on with her help.
  17. Yes, true. However, we have a business that needs to be managed and it's not gonna be possible without the two of us. Otherwise, a loss of 2-3 million baht is gonna happen.
  18. It looks like the 80,000 baht requirement is only for employment based residency. The family based residency doesn't have salary requirements.
