  1. Can't apply for my usual extension due to changes in circumstances. I just thought that sometimes local immi grants a 7-day stamp
  2. Hi there fellow members. 1. Would a short 1-3-day overstay be a problem? Or is it better not take the risk? 2. Would it be possible to get an emergency 7-day stamp at the local immigration? Extension expires on the 11th but I would have a very important thing to do on the 11th and 12th. 3. After leaving Thailand, I intend to come back within a few days using the tourist Visa option. Would this be a problem when returning? Constructive replies are greatly appreciated.
  3. Well, there isn't enough pollution yet. (Pun intended) Unfortunately, this is a very common occurrence especially in the countryside. Now, in the south, we are bracing ourselves for that lovely Indonesian "smoke" that is expected to hit very soon. God be with you
  4. Paid a visit to the local immigration but they didn't have a clue. They just showed me the checklist on the internet that I can download. Unfortunately, I won't have time to prepare all those docs on time. Apparently, change of extension is only possible when the ongoing extension runs to its expiry date. Difficult times are coming then ????
  5. Thanks. Looks like a rather confusing wording in these docs. I'm pretty sure they will find a way to reject the change of visa for Non-B to work for a small business. Tourist visa remains the only option. However, as a last resort, I'll pay a visit to the local immi.
  6. Dear members I'm on Non-immigrant-O based on married to a Thai. However, due to major changes in my circumstances, will have to leave next week. I'm considering going to Cambodia and planning to come back on a tourist visa within a short period. I also have a work permit that is tied to our family business. Will this be ok with immigration? Would it be possible to somehow convert this extension to Non-B? Constructive replies are greatly appreciated ????
  7. There are some interesting input here, however, pointing out "negativity" because of some geezers' comments is rather strange. There are many "positive" people too. I find people way too positive sometimes. Our experiences are different. Some goes through hell, some are born lucky. Some are lucky in business, some aren't. Some find soulmates, some don't. Just because someone has good experiences or has more willpower, it doesn't mean others have the same. As for love needs to be nurtured, it may work for some, it may not work for others. Can't put everybody in the same hat. Some like to get into the routine of belonging to each other no matter what, some may try hard but feelings may deplete. For some women nothing is good enough, for some the bare minimum will suffice. I like your idea of "you and me against the world." Been with my missus for 13 years, and I can agree that this philosophy works, however, sometimes, things change and become irreversible.
  8. Well, things drive me crazy even in my sleep.. Especially those females ... ????
  9. Sleeping every night is boring. Driving every day is boring .... Need to spice things up indeed
  10. How about Savannakhet or Cambodia? Would Non-O ME be available?
  11. Thanks for your reply. I reckon I must pay a visit at the so-called Department of Commerce. There is one in my town. I thought the extension could be converted to another type within Thailand but the information is, again, rather vague on that. I live in Thailand on Non-O based on married to a Thai, but this will change soon.
  12. Excuse my ignorance but the information on the internet regarding setting up an ordinary partnership is rather vague. I'm looking at this option of setting up an ordinary partnership with a Thai person. As per legal requirements, 2 locals must be employed in case of foreigner being part of the business. Do the partners have to be related? Are there any red flags? When will the work permit come into the picture? Do these partners have to obtain the relevant documents from the Registrar and then the foreigner must use these docs to apply for the work permit? Lastly, if the foreigner is on a Non-O extension, can the foreigner apply for a change of the type of Visa extension within Thailand at a local immigration?
  13. Nice. So what do you mean? Laughing at people who have struggles? Well done geezer
  14. What is funny? I have never had this visa as I have been here on non-immigrant O extension. Instead of making fun of people, why not help? Weird
  15. Sir, could you elaborate on why my post made you laugh? Not sure if I said something funny. Am I missing something. Just tried to ask a simple question and tried to get some answers. Please understand that people may have situations that aren't usual. Your reply will be appreciated.
